Alright, I had to reblog this because the replies are too short and I wanted to break it down why this ain’t it, Fam
Tell me you didn’t read your sources w/o telling me you didn’t read your sources:
1st link: For starters, it’s an opinion piece. Secondly, if you read the actual material being complained about, it clearlysays kids grades k-5 would only be learning Anatomy and Physiology and Puberty and Adolescent Sexual Development. Which is already commonly taught at that age (that’s when I learned about it in school).
2nd link: Students (at a private school, mind you) were shown a cartoon designed for little children discussing proper names for body parts. I watched the cartoon (which was linked in the article). It’s fine. One of the kids mentions he sometimes touches his penis and his penis gets hard, and the adult character explains that there’s nothing wrong with that but that should be done in private and that private parts should always be ‘private’/covered. At no point is anyone taught how to masturbate or anything of the sort. Sex isn’t even mentioned. It’s all presented from a health standpoint.
3rd link: Kids K-2 would only learn personal safety and respecting others. No sex.
4th link: More of the same. K-2 would learn personal safety and body parts, appropriate touching, etc.
So, you’ll get that $20 when you show me an example of teachers trying to instruct 5 year olds about sex. Not about their health or development. Not about consent or appropriate touching, which all SHOULD BE TAUGHT AT THAT AGE. Show me this “promoting LGBT”, you were talking about.

Okay, I am fucking ready to throw hands with the Florida Government. This “Don’t Say Gay” bill would prevent both LGBTQ children and teachers from talking about that. A literal child wouldn’t be able to talk about their own parents if their parents are LGBTQ. Not oy that, but this is severely detrimental to the mental health of both out and closeted children. I for one am disgusted by this bill and beg everyone to sign the petition to get it abolished. Signing is free and takes less than five minutes. Please, this legislation is disgusting, an infringement on people’s rights, and just plain fucked up.
genuinely so fucking tired of people leveraging the “groomer” argument against people who support sex ed because scientific literature over decades shows that comprehensive sex education starting around kindergarten actually prevents children from being sexually abused and groomed because it teaches children the correct words for their body parts and also teaches them concepts of privacy, personal space, bodily autonomy, the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching, and the fact that sex is something that only adults do. children with this knowledge are not only better equipped to identify abuse and predatory behavior and communicate that its happening to a trusted adult, but also prevent it from happening in the first place by recognizing when something is happening that shouldn’t.
sex education does not sexualize children, it prevents children from being sexualized. anyone who is against early foundational sex education and claims they are doing it to protect children is a fucking liar.
This This This This This This This This one hundred times THIS. This needs to be said over and over and over again. I believe in Jesus. I love God. AND I LOVE KIDS. And I would literally fucking die before allowing my precious children to go out into the hell on earth we live in now and face predators without every single weapon in my arsenal. Specifically:
Knowing about their bodies EMPOWERS children.
Knowing about consent EMPOWERS children.
Knowing what’s typical and what’s special when it comes to their development is EMPOWERING and equips children to become teens and adults who SUPPORT their peers who aren’t straight and cis.
Knowing exactly what is appropriate and what is not between an adult and child EMPOWERS children.
Knowing that they are not bad because something inappropriate felt good EMPOWERS children and SAVES THEM from trying to weather continued abuse because they are afraid or ashamed about their confusion.
Knowing that no matter what, consent is theirs and theirs alone to give or withdraw and that they have a safe adult to talk to EMPOWERS children to sound the alarm before abuse progresses.
Knowledge is power. Information is power. Without it, children are literally powerless.
And I don’t see these people volunteering to accompany their children everywhere they go to personally protect them.
Anyone who would withhold lifesaving and empowering information from innocent children … who would take their power and words and force them to go defenceless into the world literally would prefer children be abused. They are literally saying children deserve to be made victims.

I don’t want to show any links (mostly because most of them misgenders the victims and saying shit like “he (the MTF trans woman) lied about his gender”) and I don’t really want to go into any details I don’t think is necessary. Basically the “trans panic defense” is being used again for people who murders trans people.
The “trans panic defense” is a bullshit excuse for murdering trans people. It’s basically like saying that it’s “self-defense against the trans people if the trans person didn’t say that they’re trans because the cis person wouldn’t have consented if they knew.” (Even if the trans person in question had bottom surgery.)
And with all of the anti-trans bills passing (”child genital inspection” in Ohio, “don’t say gay” in Florida, etc) they may actually be able to get away with murder using that excuse.
This is truly disgusting. We are going into “genocide” for LGBT+ people, especially trans people. Be extra careful if you’re LGBT+.

It’s so cute when the Log Cabin Republicans come out with some new position on the various anti-LGBTQ bills plaguing state legislatures.
“We supported Don’t Say Gay, but we’re going to oppose some of these other bills…” Awwww, and I’m sure your opinion is going to carry very far! I’m sure every Republican in the country is hanging on the edge of their seat to hear what you’re going to say.
We’ll never know who loves the Log Cabin Republicans more: left-wing queers or other Republicans. But there’s a lot of love for them to go around. Best of luck to them in their efforts to continue their storied career.
