It absolutely cracks me up that Elisa goes on this cute seemingly innocent costume date with Goliath, but then-

She fully has a sluttier version underneath ready to GO like

We Stan a monster-fucking icon

I’m mostly amused that she decided to include a thigh holster, because she knows what her life is like.

scatterbrainuk:

First Elisa Maza: Rosario Dawson

i just see her as the live action version. Elisa is the more badass version of her character from the marvel series with a more central role. Rosario is more than capable of portraying the sassy yet deep Elisa i remember from the show.

Much like Darth Vader theres only one man who can and should voice Goliath: Kieth David

one of the most memorable things about this show is this mans magnificent voice. Im not kidding if Keith, James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman are ever in the same movie or show together it will be the most  awesome vocal experience to the ears. the guy could play anything and make the character awesome, so he needs to come back to play the shows most badass character.

This next one was a bit tough but for Hudson: Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid from harry potter)

I wanted a proper Scottish actor to play Hudson and whilst Hudson is usually very serious he does have his softer side with both Bronx and Elisa. Robbie as we know can play a big softy as Hagrid but he’s also played some serious and even sinister characters as well.

the next three are the younger Gargoyles so im going to pick younger actors for them

First Brooklyn: Joe Keery

Brooklyn was the “try to be cool but usually looks like a fool” wise cracking one and as Steve from Stranger things Joe plays this character really well with his comedic timing. I also got the sense that Brooklyn was the oldest of the three as he definitely had more of a leader role when it was just them.

Next is Brooklyn and after much thinking Jacob Batalon

Broadway is meant to be a sweet by naive character and Ned from spiderman homecoming was both. At first i thought of Jonah Hill but i’ll be honest his voice is kind of annoying and he only ever seems to play one sort of character and its never sweet, usually pervy which is not how i see Broadway.

Next Lexington: Finn Wolfhard

I always thought Lexington was the youngest of the group being the smallest and most child like, which was a good contrast for him being the tech whiz kid of the group which made him a fan favorite for me. Doubly so years later when i found out the comic continuing the series had started a story line where he would be gay. As for his actor Finn has a very distinctive voice like Lex and has shown he can portray serious, emotional and humorous rolls with both Richie and Mike as his most well known characters. plus if they ever did that what if scenario where Lex went evil i would love to see finn have a crack at it.

last for the heroes Frank Welker, the man of a thousand voices (including megatron, abu and a thousand growling animals) MUST return as Bronx

Next we have probably the best Villain in this show: Demona: Gwendoline Christie

That voice, for both of them. As a child i remember feeling dread in every episode she appeared much like children dread seeing the daleks in doctor who; you know something bad was going to happen and that she would be scary doing it on screen. Gwendoline is just frigging amazing and she needs the chance to shine as proper villain and not the disappointing captain phantasm we got.

Macbeth: Gerard Butler

Just imagine Gerard in the fight scenes of medieval Scotland one minute and fighting Goliath with futuristic weaponry the next and tell me it wouldn’t look badass. He is perhaps Scotland’s most badass action actor after all.

Xanatos: George Clooney

Xanatos is suave and smooth. Those words are George Clooney. the guy could sell anything and give a performance so charming you would at least pay attention to what he was saying. Plus Xanatos isn’t your usual type of villain with talks of how he’ll take over the world or laughing maniacally, and i think Clooney would play it perfectly.        Gwendoline Christie

Since Gargoyles is going onto Disney+ i thought id repost my fan cast for a live action movie or series. still stand by my choices. really hope the show gets the same love it got back when i watched it.

First Elisa Maza: Rosario Dawson

So recently I was reminded that this series existed, having watched it when I was younger. I’ve been re watching them as I remembered it being really good. Holy hell I forgot how good it was!!

So for those who don’t know the show it was about creatures called Gargoyles who were stone by day and came alive at night living in medieval Scotland atop a castle they helped the humans ruling it defend, despite racism towards their people. Long and the short of it is that after a battle with the Vikings who destroyed most of the gargoyles during the day, including Goliaths lover, the castles Magus (because why not) believes the gargoyles are responsible for the princesses death & curses the gargoyles to be stone until the castle “rises above the clouds”. In over words, their stoned forever (sorry not sorry)

Cut to present day/sometime in the future and multi billionaire business man Xanatos buys the castle & has it moved brick by brick to the top of his skyscraper, literally rising the castle above the clouds. Now awake in a different time the gargoyles discover more about this new world from Xanatos and a detective who discovers them named Elisa Maza. I will try not to spoil what happens from there on but I do want to talk about one episode shortly after the 5 part intro to the series.

Episode 8: Deadly Force

The younger members of the team started off as the somewhat comic relief or at least lighter moments of the first 7 episodes, especially the token Fat member Broadway being the most naive and innocent member of the group. Beginning of this episode we see that he is fascinated with the latest western movie, thinking the gun spinning protagonist is cool. Now at this point I should mention that the gargoyles and Elisa have been shot at by various antagonists up to this point, and not in the style most kids shows did in the 2000’s with lasers. No these are proper automatic weapons and pistols, but everyone luckily has storm trooper syndrome and can’t hit shit. After watching the movie he visits Elisa and while she’s cooking he see’s her gun holster hanging up and like so many cases that have happened where children have found their parents guns Broadway starts to play with it.

Of course the gun goes off at the worst time. Broadway frightened by the sudden shot jumps and starts apologizing to Elisa only to realize he has caused this.

Yes people, that is blood from a victim of gun violence on a kids cartoon from Disney. I wish I could capture a pick after Broadway rushes her to the hospital and after dropping her off is horrified by the blood on his hands. And there’s A LOT of it by kids show standards. Later when Elisa’s family arrive and are told she is in critical condition the doctor goes into detail over the damage done and the show does not tone it down, saying how it pierced her lung, nicked her heart and that even after 10 hours of surgery she may not pull through. This is a Disney show!!

Later after stopping some thugs from selling more guns he and Goliath visit Elisa who has recovered and regained consciousness. Broadway apologises saying he never should have played with the gun and he’ll never touch one ever again. Now for any show that would have dared touch this subject they probably would have left it there as a message for kids that guns aren’t safe and should not be played with but not this show. It took it one further by making it a message for the adults too as Elisa admits she was at fault too as she should have been a lot more careful about where she kept it.

Holy Hell this show was amazing!

Now I don’t live in the US so I cant really get a sense of why you would want a weapon built to kill in the same house as your child. So much emphasis is put to children on how guns aren’t for kids to play with but who is the one who brought it into their living environment? If you MUST have one you have to take responsibility for keeping it out of naive hands, and this show tackled it like a boss with the shocking story and images that both child and parent needed to see.

Disney, if your not going to remake this series (for the love of god please do) at least re air it so that once again this episode can shape both young and old minds on the importance of gun responsibility.

romancemedia:

I feel so bad for Goliath in this shot. Witnessing Elisa and Jason kiss was bad enough, but the heartbreak on his face as he listens to her explaining to Jason about their relationship and why they can never be together just pains me. It was sad how his heartbreak and jealousy added to his anger and hatred of the Hunters. This scene was truly the most heartbreaking moment of all throughout the 3 part season 2 finale, with Goliath thinking he and Elisa could never be together despite the strong love they feel for one another.

November is Native American Heritage Month and I wanted to a sorting of meaningful and positive portrayals of Native characters from TV, movies, books and comic books. There is a real lack of representation of diverse Native characters in the arts, so this sorting may seem more sparse than other sortings I’ve done in the past. This is a sad fact that we need to change. Accurate and positive representations are rare, with whitewashing and stereotypes prevailing in the industry. Representation matters. Diversity matters. May there be thousands more to add to this sorting in the near future.

Gryffindor: Chakotay (Star Trek: Voyager), Leah Clearwater (Twilight Saga), Elisa Maza (Gargoyles), Sam Uley (Twilight Saga), John Proudstar/Thunderbird (The Gifted), Tiger Lily (Once Upon a Time) and Pocahontas (Pocahontas).

Slytherin: James Proudstar/Warpath (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Slipknot (Suicide Squad), Emperor Kuzco (Emperor’s New Groove), Silverfox (X-Men Comics), Paul Lahote (Twilight Saga) and Qaletaqa Walker (Fear the Walking Dead).

Hufflepuff: Te Ata Fisher (Te Ata), Jacob Black (Twilight Saga), Nakoma (Pocahontas), Seth Clearwater (Twilight Saga), Piper McLean (Heroes of Olympus) *(artwork by Kazehaya Yuki. Found at: http://i.ntere.st/a/13682407/p)*, Lee/Crazy Dog (Fear the Walking Dead) and Kerry Loudermilk (Legion).

Ravenclaw: Sacagawea (Night at the Museum), Raven (Teen Titans:Earth 1), Billy Black (Twilight Saga), Danielle Moonstar/Mirage (X-Men Comics/New Mutants/Wolverine and the X-Men), Forge (X-Men Comics), Miiyahbin Marten/Equinox (Justice League United) and Napi/The Chief (Wonder Woman)
