Marvel keeps releasing promo art for the X-men: Hellfire Gala and I am eating it up! This is looking to be such a cool event, and I love the unique, mutant-specific fashion that these characters are getting. All the big X-men characters have been covered already, but would I love to see more designs? Of course. We’ve actually seen more in previews that announced Polaris’ win including Forge,Strong Guy,Marrow,Armor,Boom-Boom, and Tempo. I’m a person that loves lists and collecting things though, so I couldn’t help but think of additional characters I’d at least love to see a glimpse of, including Wolfsbane,Cable, Vulcan,Darwin,Blink, Cypher, Bei, Husk,Chamber, Mondo, Hellion,Anole, Surge, Dust, Gentle, the Stepford Cuckoos, Oya, Elixir, Hope Summers, Proteus, Egg, Tempus, Triage, Petra, Sway,Callisto, Toad, Cecilia Reyes, Peter Wisdom, and even Apocalypse.
Honestly, I am already so happy with what we have here and my list is just me being greedy…but Marvel started it! LOL. A part of me does actually hope that this becomes an annual event, where all we do is celebrate some beautiful mutant fashion. I am just having so much fun!
I also kind of the love the idea that Monarch (James Braddock Jr.) is intentionally black and white…like he is going to show up like he is in the A-ha music video “Take On Me”. I mean he could and would do it. He has reality-altering powers and he is ridiculously fabulous.

November is Native American Heritage Month and I wanted to a sorting of meaningful and positive portrayals of Native characters from TV, movies, books and comic books. There is a real lack of representation of diverse Native characters in the arts, so this sorting may seem more sparse than other sortings I’ve done in the past. This is a sad fact that we need to change. Accurate and positive representations are rare, with whitewashing and stereotypes prevailing in the industry. Representation matters. Diversity matters. May there be thousands more to add to this sorting in the near future.

This … is an amazing plan. In order to stop Harness from using Piecemeal to continue to syphon mystical energy out of the air, Moira has Multiple Man make a bunch of copies of himself to hold Piecemeal down with sumo holds and then she runs out there with those little paddles and she tries to drain his energy. As you can imagine, this doesn’t work.
Honestly! That’s like trying putting out a house fire with a spray bottle of Windex! Isn’t Moira supposed to be a scientific genius? This was the best plan she could come up with?? Honestly. Then, when Warpath punches Harness in the face and knocks her helmet off revealing she’s a woman, she INSTANTLY goes from being a verbally and physically abusive thug to a caring mother.
Do you writers seriously think I haven’t read the last 100 pages of this story??? I can remember that she was acting totally different five minutes ago!! Fuck’s sake.
And then this leads to Proteus being reborn because Piecemeal had been consuming the energy that got spread out all over the world when the X-Men defeated Proteus way back in Uncanny X-Men #128. All of this mealy-mouthed storytelling just leaves me with tedious questions. Like, why was this mother torturing her kid?? And why did she seem to be enjoying it so much?? And do you seriously think we forgot about that because it just happened in the last god damned issue!! (X-Men Annual #15 – 1991)

There are many things wrong with this image (drawn by Rob Liefield), but the weirdest is Feral’s arm not being attached to her glove properly? Seems like they messed up the coloring. From X-Force (1991) #2
