“Why should I settle for mediocre when I know I’m worthy of exceptional.”
- g.d. (settling)
In honor of what would have been Judy Garland‘s 100th birthday, I give you my absolute favorite performance by this amazing legend.
“The Man that Got Away” from the movie, “A Star is Born.”
i always think of the part of lpod where tim clearlygets that “so i was incidentally involved in one of the worst nights of your life and that’s how i found out your identities and became obsessed with you” is gonna be an awkward and uncomfortable and painful thing to bring up to dick … so he avoids the topic altogether, to the point of refusing to answer basic questions like “what’s your name, kid?” and “how the hell do you know all this?”
honestly i think more alternate meetings/tim joins the family early fic should play with this. tim can’t tell them how he knows their identities but he definitely found out on his own and it wasn’t that impressive, it was kind of an incidental thing, but don’t worry! not the kind of incidental thing other people could replicate–probably–so your secrets are safe, you should definitely just take his word for this, oh no why are you all giving him suspicious looks???? (frantically calculating whether it’s plausible for him to just be a superfan of a circus troupe who died when he was like, three, for reasons totally unrelated to the murder thing) look, he is telling the truth–
#it’s extremely important to me that tim be both deeply compassionate#and utterly fucking tactless (upswings)
