LIVE

Every time I play a video game or watch an epic anime, it always makes me wish I could live somewhere less boring and mundane. Somewhere I could fight and stand for something. Somewhere true adventure was still possible, in whatever random form it appeared in. Somewhere I could take control of my own life without someone bigger than me lauding my human rights over me, toying with them in their hands. Somewhere I didn’t feel so suffocated…

Then I remember that this world can become like that too.

This is my battle. The reason I fight. To create a world that isn’t suffocating to myself and everyone else who experiences this feeling. To craft and mold a world where people are free to chase after any dream they desire.

And I’ll follow through with that sentiment with my bare hands if I must.

Becausethis, this massive, crazy world right here in front of us, this is our adventure. Each and every struggle we face, big and small, are our quests to complete and main bosses to vanquish. Our victories, both little and grand, are our rewards and levels ups and new achievements unlocked. Each and every skill and asset we get our hands on are our inventory and equipment. And every bit of wisdom we acquire, every lesson we learn from our blunders and our triumphs, are the experience we need to propel us further forward towards our final goals, whatever they may be.

I don’t actually want to run away to some far off fantasy, I truly just want to live.

And that is something I will never stop striving for.

And now I ask you, too, dear reader…

.

.

.

What it is you fight for?

Aries: March 21 - April 19

Juicy and ripe, mango's are just amazingly sweet! An absolute favourite, loved by many and certainly by me. Plain, in a salad or smoothie, spiced with a bit of fresh hot red pepper, absolutely versatile. Mango just makes me happy.

Taurus: April 20 - May 20

Onions, what do you do without them? Absolutely underrated, as it is the basis of every good meal. Sometimes the meal itself like French onion soup! That dish just comforts me massively. Sharp like red onion in salad or spring onions on ramen, warm, sweet and comforting when caramelized in a pan or oven- a meal is not complete without onions! And most importantly, let’s not forget: Onions have layers.

Gemini: May 21 - June 20

Ground cinnamon is fine. Fresh cinnamon sticks? Oh! Just the warmest smell and flavour! Essential for so many sweet and savory dishes. I also like to make tea of it, sometimes paired with ginger, cozy with a blanket on the couch and a book… Or in cookies, cakes, in my stewed pears or apple sauce! When I’m sad I sometimes just take one and smell it, and I feel better about the world instantly!

Cancer: June 21 - July 22

Potato? No. Sweet potato! Okay, to be fair, the one on the photograph has already been boiled, but! Sweet. Potato!? Boil ‘em, mash ‘em, stick ‘em in a stew or even better, fries! Sweet potato fries with smoked paprika and salt, a little bit of mayonaise. I even made a sweet potato pie once, because back in the day pumpkins were hard to get. Was it good though? Well, I think I ate the whole pie. Anyway. Potato? Sweet potato. Love!

Leo: July 23 - August 22

Cassava! Manihot esculenta. I never had it, so that’s why I bought it! Really excited to make something of this as I have so much inspiration! I partly got that by watching “The Island with Bear Grylls”. Amazing concept, really love that show, want to be on there one day or in a similar setting (with life-lines, preferably, haha). Just so back to basics and survival… Yeah, raw and real! I know you will die if you eat this boi raw. Won’t stop me from being really excited!

Virgo: August 23 - September 22

Apples are humble, and so are raisins. Such a power couple though! Together in cakes and pies, but also in curry and in epic apple sauce. Both apples and raisins deserve more love and respect, you feel me?

Libra: September 23 - October 22

This is one confusing boi. I never prepared it before! That may not be the most difficult part, boiling it, but the name? Rutabaga? Don’t be fooled, this is a big big boi and really not a swede! I am excited. I love the colour of the skin (such a gorgeous purple!) and trying new things is what I love. A turnip may not be hip, but I think this is a rutabaga and that means #NoDrama. That was a very forced rhyme, haha ^^

Scorpio: October 23 - November 21

I love mushrooms! I eat them every week because they’re so beautiful, affordable, healthy and super delicious! I love them so much, I actually grow my own shiitake. On toast with a little onion and parsley or thyme, in a ragout, stir fry, filled with something delicious, I could go on and on! Very unique to the other things on this list, too, as it is not a plant. Cool stuff, very epic cool stuff!

Sagittarius: November 22 - December 21

That perfect citrus zing from a lemon is just what I crave so very often! I am not that crazy that I eat a whole lemon for fun, but as finishing touch it’s essential for a lot of my cooking and drinks. In the winter it helps me think of summer and brings me a little happiness in dark days.

Capricorn: December 22 - January 19

Chestnuts are so so beautiful and underappreciated! I just love them roasted with Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and smoked almonds. I love to gather them myself because it is just so satisfying to find food in nature. (Be careful and responsible when doing this, not every species is edible!) I used to gather the inedible kind to make spiders with them by sticking sticks in them and connecting them together. Back then I didn’t know you could eat these too. An eye-opener for sure!

Aquarius: January 20 - February 18

Fresh turmeric is not common where I’m from, but delicious and really worth the search? Yes! While I’m still experimenting, a few things I’ve already tried. Curry paste, golden milk, and I will likely dry it to make real good A+ powder instead of the powder in the store that kinda tastes like, erm, soap.

Pisces: February 19 - March 20

Not to be corny, but can we take a moment to appreciate corn? Especially the popping kind that is just so satisfying to make and eat? Oh, I just love it with a bit of salt and rosemary, or with caramel to make something I call “snowballs”. Burned my hands a few times doing that, but it is no match for my burning passion for this affordable, healthy-ish snack!

I am so proud of you, that through all of the pain and turmoil, that you still love so fucking hard.

It is truly worthy of pride.

dolls-revenge:

Crazy this even needs to be said but with the recent upsurge of BPD demonisation fuelled by the Depp v Heard case and that dumbass twitter furry artist i have to say:

This is a safe space for people with BPD, i have BPD myself this will always bea safe space and our experiences. We arenot inherently abusive.

I don’t have BPD, not nuerotypical either though, either way if anyone who does wants to come over and stay for a spell they are more than welcome. One is too many, but most of the people with BPD I have met tear themselves apart because they love too hard. And none of the ones I’ve met are lying abusive pieces of crap. They were the ones being abused, not the other way around.

I needed this.

Thank you to all the people who posted this so I ended up seeing it. I really needed this right now. Thank you!

Yeah… Not gonna lie… I cried…

We need more people like this

Goddamn it stop making me feel human

The therapist I wanna be.

Text in the image:

“I’m a therapist and keep this poster in my waiting room, apparently it’s saved a few lives.”

I don’t like the phrase “a cry for help.” I just don’t like how it sounds. When somebody says to me, “I’m thinking about suicide. I have a plan: I just need a reason not to do it,” the last thing I see is helplessness.

I think your depression has been beating you up for years. It’s called you ugly, and stupid, and pathetic, and a failure, for so long that you’ve forgotten that it’s wrong. You don’t see any good in yourself, and you don’t have any hope.

But still here you are: you’ve come over to me, banged on my door and said, “HEY! Staying alive is REALLY HARD right now! Just give me something to fight with! I don’t care if it’s a stick! Give me a stick and I can stay alive!”

How is that helpless? I think that’s incredible. You’re like a marine: trapped for years behind enemy lines. Your gun has been taken away, you’re out of ammo, you’re malnourished, and you’ve probably caught some kind of jungle virus that’s making you hallucinate giant spiders.

And you’re still just going, “GIVE ME A STICK. I’M NOT DYING OUT HERE.”
“A cry for help” makes it sound like I’m supposed to take pity on you, but you don’t need my pity. This isn’t pathetic. This is the will to survive. This is how humans lived long enough to become the dominant species.

With NO hope, running on NOTHING, you’re ready to cut through a hundred miles of hostile jungle with nothing but a stick, if that’s what it takes to get to safety.

All I’m doing is handing out sticks.

You’re the one saying alive.

I legit cried at this. I’ve needed to hear it put this way. Bless this post.

Every time I see this post I stop to read the whole image. It always helps — even on the good days.

Because it wasn’t weakness. It wasn’t shameful to seek help. It wasn’t pathetic to “cry for help”. I was looking for a stick, be that from myself or from someone else. I was trying to find a way out. I was trying to heal myself.

this is fuckin incredible.

I’m sorry if I repost to many of these, but if it could be someone’s “stick” then it’s worth it

I’ll give you all the sticks in the world. Just please stay alive. Suicide isn’t worth it.
