remember that one of the first parts of recovery is mindfulness. If you don’t take a second to say “I had a good day.” or “I am truly content/happy right now”, you can get caught in a narrative cycle of thinking your life is always bad. It’s easier to combat castrophizing thoughts that make you think your life is always painful if you can place yourself in the present when you’re actually happy.
