my roommate is gone for the week and i’m trying my best to find things to do to entertain myself in the mean time. Last week I took some engagement photos of my friends in Dallas and I figured there’s probably no better time to edit to my heart’s content. Plus it’s been rainy and cozy (if you count 75 cozy… which I do considering it’s May in Dallas).

You’ll light one of those Marlboros we always used to smoke, and as the clouds of smoke billow through the air your mind will drift to us. It’s been years, but occasionally, you think back to that summer. A summer of unrequited love. You’ll remember the first time you kissed me, and you’ll remember the last. Then the sun will eventually fade into the horizon and the dark will creep it’s way in, and you’ll realise again that it’s over. It’s been over since the day we first met. All we have is the memories, those bittersweet memories that are still too precious to let go of. Without them, it would have all been just a dream. And maybe that’s all it was. But you’ll remember everything as if it were yesterday - and you’ll wonder where it all went wrong, and you’ll think about the timing, and what it could have been, what we could have been.

CANCER NEW MOON: A Blanket of Love

Two nights ago, my son and I spent the evening together. The windows were wide open with a view of large trees joined together like a tribe. I could feel the essence of family as my heart was so happy and my soul cherishing the moments we could spend together. The sky began to light up with flashes across the sky, seeing the trees through the quick flashes of daylight, thunder rolled like drums in the heavens as it began to pour. We both love the rain. He is a Spring baby! So he always sinks into comfort and feels nurtured when we have those wonderful tropical rainfalls that bring in a fresh scent from nature’s earth garden.
This rain was special, it was a conversation with nature that brought the ancestors in our midst to assure us that they are standing by. There was a bird that seem as though it was sitting on the window pain. It’s melody was so loud, it felt as though it was inside. It was raining so hard it could not fly in the sky.
