Not only are abortions now illegal after six weeks (which would outlaw at least eighty-five percent of abortions since people can be unaware they’re pregnant at that stage), but any private citizen can sue people who violate this law for ten thousand dollars. People who can be sued includes anyone who “aided and abetted” the abortion—including not only doctors and healthcare providers, but the people like the fucking uber driver who drove you to the clinic.
And the Supreme Court has done nothing about it.
I am afraid.
I am angry.
I am in disbelief that a group of people, with full knowledge of the terrifying consequences of their actions, pooled their resources, wealth, and knowledge to launch this assault on abortion rights. Displaying a dearth of empathy, they plotted around Roe v. Wade by employing private citizens as bounty hunters,people they will pay thousands of dollars to report abortions.
They launched a modern-day witch hunt.

my south african friend brought this up to me today. it doesn’t matter how different the flags are–when you spraypaint it, when you see the flag from far away, all you see is the orange, white, and blue
the apartheid south africa flag is a flag that is a threat to their lives, their safety, and their country
my friend proposed that we could flip the flag, like an upside down cross, and i would like to suggest shifting the colours like this (similar to what they were like on the original aroace flag):
the colours all have the same meaning, they’re just different shades now. i don’t like to reblog bait but please reblog this, regardless of if you’re aroace or not, so we can spread word and use a flag thatdoesn’t represent white supremacy and racism.
Hi! I was not aware of this when I made this flag. I do understand how it could remind someone of that flag, but frankly I do think they’re still pretty visually distinct. My flag has more stripes, including a yellow and a sky blue that aren’t present in the other flag, lacks a symbol, and the two blue stripes have high enough contrast that even from a distance you can see both. I did make a slightly adjusted version that emphasizes those things more, though, if that helps.
Just… idk, there are lots of flags out there, and a lot of them are going to have superficial resemblance to each other. Plus, blue white and orange is a really common color scheme. There are lots of other flags that use it as well.
If it makes people more comfortable to turn the flag upside down or use a different one, that’s totally fine. I’m not going to make anyone use a flag that they’re uncomfortable with.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking recently, mostly in regards to my motivations for the art I make on my own time. I’ve twitted about it a few times already, but essentially I don’t enjoy making art for myself alone, I like doing for others, and one of the things I’ve found I enjoy the most is making fanart of fanfics.
Fics inspire me the most not only because very often they are amazing stories in themselves, but also because they are creations born of loving the source, or the fandom, or the characters. They are given freely to everyone else to enjoy and inspire. They make fandoms grow and just all around make people HAPPY.
It’s a beautiful cycle and I want to celebrate that, but I SUCK at being a reader. For a number of reasons, it takes me a lot of time and mental effort to sit down and read and I feel anxious about writing reviews. Very honestly, I’m a crappy fic reader.
But I’d be more than happy to celebrate what other people love, too.
So this is what I want to do: Answer to this post, in a reblog, or via ask, a fic from someone else. Not yours, just an author you’d like to make a present to, for having made you happy with their writing. On Monday 12th I’ll throw what names I get in a raffle, and pick one. Then I’ll contact the author and offer an illustration of whichever scene or element they liked most in that story of theirs.
If this first time works, I’d like to do this periodically, maybe once every few months, maybe sooner, depending on how much free time and energy I have.
So there. Any fandom, any characters, any story. It’s all good. As long as you loved it, and you think the author would like to see a bit of art made of it, I’m game.

My little goblin rat demon Miku was throwing up all day and night, and hadn’t eaten or drank anything in a while. This morning I took her to the vet, and it was determined that she had likely swallowed something that was blocking her intestines and she would need surgery.
THE GOOD NEWS IS her surgery is already done! They found a clump of thread (she just loves to eat thread. the stupid bastard that she is.) and successfully removed it, and she is doing well and recovering. I will be able to take her home tomorrow.
THE BAD NEWS IS the surgery and other procedures are gonna cost me 500€, which is money I do not have, as my main income of tabling at conventions was basically decimated with corona.
