I really love the creativity of dystopian writers sometimes. Dystopia is such a specific category– society after the apocalypse– but dystopian writers come up with a thousand ways for the apocalypse to have happened and a thousand different kinds of rebuilt societies, from the creepily 1950s-style, binaric thinking that defines TheseVideos to the “fixing” of genes that Divergent covers to the crazy beauty-obsessed ideals of Scott Westerfield’s “Uglies” series. It’s amazing. If you’re writing a dystopia, go you. You’re fuckin cool.

Those rogues Young Master Salisbury (probably a great uncle of Simon’s so the timing makes sense) and his friend Balthazar Pitch have been serenading the ladies at the Cloisters dorm but the cheeky bastards got caught by Headmaster Tyrannus Pitch (Balthazar’s dad) and now the boys better RUN

I have to say I LOVE this series that you’re doing, it’s so fun, and I love getting more background on all these minor characters. I was seriously staring at that art of Ruth and Adolorata for a long time! Absolutely YES to hearing history about the world of mages and getting all the backstory on our favorite boys’ families!!

Also, this art style is SO COOL and I love the scattered showers color scheme and the art deco style.

*Note:they are ALL friends (the “exes to friends” connection is there to specifically indicate that folks were previous romantically and sexually involved for a time) and holidays are always a whole-group affair hosted at Statler and Waldorf’s sprawling property. Every holiday, every year, it ends in an explosive fight between Janice and Ms Piggy and someone catches Beaker and Animal making out in the coat closet. Gonzo is everyone’s weed dealer.

Just saying - Mab’s unicorn may be my new fave. It’s so scary and badass.
