If Alma were to listen to her motherly instincts, she’d have brought her daughter a bottle of the strongest tequila. Unfortunately, their circumstances did not allow for this simple mercy. Julieta’s wound needed healing sooner rather than later. Thus, Julieta had to maintain a clear mind. For this reason, when Alma entered her daughter’s bedroom, she was holding a cup of yerba mate.
Julieta was sitting cross-legged on the floor, her back resting against her bed. She looked completely exhausted, with blood-shot eyes and trembling lips. Her husband Agustín was sitting next to her, concern painted on his face. Between them stood a bowl of water – cold, Alma assumed, for cooling down the wound. She observed that Julieta’s right sleeve had been cut off, exposing the blistered forearm. The ugly, red reminder of the battle they had fought.
She had used all her energy to save Pedro. There was too little of it left to ease her own suffering.
Without a word, Alma handed her daughter the cup. Julieta accepted it with resignation and begun to sip the liquid. She wasn’t a fan of yerba mate – the taste wasn’t to her liking. Still, she drank it all her life for its nutritious properties. Whenever she needed an energy boost, this was what she turned to. Fuel didn’t have to taste good. Still, seeing how reluctantly Julieta consumed it, Alma felt her heart break over and over again.
A couple of sips later, Julieta tried to speak. “How is papá?”
“Asleep,” said Alma.
“And the children?”
“Pepa and Félix have them all in Isabela and Dolores’ bedroom.” She hesitated before continuing. “Mirabel is with Bruno. In his room.”
Mirabel. Julieta’s youngest child. The one who got possessed by the demon. In a turn of events so shocking and earth-shattering they never would have thought possible. How did it happen and why, none of them knew. The pain was so fresh, so unfair, so gut-wrenching. Even more so for Julieta, who still bore the horrible marking on her own limb.
Hearing her daughter’s name, Julieta deflated even more. Her jaws tightened and new moisture glimmered in her eyes. She had failed to protect her child. She had been so helpless. She just got herself wounded and her other children had to watch it happen.
Realizing what was going on in her daughter’s mind, Alma tried to distract her. “Is there anything you need? Anything to eat or drink?”
Julieta denied with a slight motion of her head.
“Are you going to be able to heal yourself?” Alma continued gently.
Julieta took a moment to swallow. “Not entirely,” she whispered in a strained voice. “Not right away,” she paused, running her eyes over the massacred forearm. The sight was discouraging. So much tissue to fix. So many blood vessels. So many nerves. The wounded woman shut her eyes, unable to take it all in. “I have to start, at least. It can’t wait any longer,” she almost wailed.
Alma nodded in grim acknowledgement. “Do you need Pepa? Or Bruno?”
The Madrigal triplets had a special bond that allowed them to borrow one another’s spiritual energy. Considering Julieta’s state, she could use a donor or two. The person of interest seemed to acknowledge this fact. “Get Bruno,” she requested.
Thus Alma went to get Bruno.
Julieta returned to sipping yerba mate.
Agustín placed his hand on his wife’s lap in a gesture of reassurance. He hated that there was nothing he could do to help her. He hated that she’ll have to endure excruciating pain, on top of everything she’d gone through already. She could numb herself a little bit, perhaps, but not entirely. She had to know which tissues to stimulate and how intensively. Therefore, she had to feel her body’s reactions. Words couldn’t describe the injustice of this situation. Nor make it any easier to endure for Julieta. Literally, the only thing Agustín could do was to be there for her.
At least in this respect, he wouldn’t disappoint.
“Once this is over,” he whispered softly, “you will be free to cry yourself to sleep in my arms. I am going to hold you and I am going to rub your back. For as long as you need, I am going to hold you.”
Julieta’s eyes were welling up, but the faintest smile pulled at her lips. That smile told Agustín everything he needed to know. His wife was looking forward to the services he promised her. She was going to need them, and badly so, once the ordeal is over.
He was bent on staying with her for every frightening second.

Some preparations had to be made beforehand. The bowl of cold water was displaced in favor of a stool. Agustín had to move to Julieta’s other side, so that Bruno could perform his duty as her donor. Spiritual energy was transmitted through physical touch. Bruno assumed he’d hold his hand on Julieta’s shoulder, but his sister explained he’d have to hold her arm in place. For one thing, she needed to receive his donation as close to the affected area as possible. Also, more importantly, she wouldn’t have enough self-control to stay still. Bruno obeyed, even thought acting as a human vice to his sister’s exposed, sensitive flesh was making his skin crawl. He did not want to cause her pain. Goodness gracious, she winced when he touched her.
‘Get a grip,’ he told himself. ‘You’ve no right to complain. She’s the one suffering.’
Out loud, he said: “Drain me as much as you need to.”
She gave him the faintest nod.
Alma found it fitting to ask one last question. “Is there anything else you need?”
Julieta hesitated. “A piece of leather.”
The item was provided to her with the aura of guilt.
Julieta put it into her mouth. She closed her eyes. Took a couple calming breaths. Finally, she lifted her healthy hand and bent the ring and pinky finger in a gesture that aided her concentration.
Right away Bruno was forced to tighten his grip on her arm, as she tried to jerk it away. Blue glow covered the affected limb. Julieta’s jaw clenched and sweat beads sprung from her skin. Bruno pushed away unwanted thought and focused on channeling his energy. Green glow poured from his hands onto Julieta’s forearm. Blisters bulged and exploded with a hiss. Scent of burning flesh assaulted nostrils. Julieta bit down hard on the leather. Swelling smoothed down. Red receded in favor of pink, pink receded in favor of white. Bruno held on relentlessly as Julieta’s fingers stretched and bent. Alma and Agustín watched with hearts in their throats. Julieta’s veins pulsed, sweat stained her clothes. The leather in her mouth crinkled.
Finally, the glow died out. Julieta spat out the leather and panted heavily. Bruno let go of her arm. The ugly wound was replaced with an extensive scar. It had rough edges and an uneven surface. It wasn’t the ideal outcome, but it would have to do.
Agustín knelt by his wife and kissed her temple. “You did great, querida.”
Alma handed her a cup. This one contained poppy milk. Julieta drank it greedily. It was over. She closed the wound. She made sure it wouldn’t fester. Tears of exhaustion and relief flowed freely from her eyes.
Alma and Bruno discreetly exited the room, knowing they were leaving their daughter and sister in the most competent hands.
That, and their tasks for the night weren’t completed.
Bruno showimg off his latest novella to his sisters and their husbands.
Bruno: The lead is betrayed by his best friends! They’re his best friends and then they go and marry his sisters! Now he can understand his clumsy friend marrying the oldest sister, he would literally die without her. But the other one?! His other sister has anger issues! What’s a poor man to do?
Julieta and Pepa know this about them. Julieta giggles at Bruno’s dramatics while Pepa considers zapping her brother with lightning from her cloud.
Augustin and Felix are slowly realizing the novella is about them.

I was rereading some of my seer Julieta posts and now I decided that during the rebuilding of Casita Julieta bonded with her daughters by playing matchmaker with them. They were trying to get Dolores with Mariano and Bruno with Osma.
They even got Augustin to join in too. He was grateful for Bruno’s help during those ten years and now wants to see Bruno happy with the love of his life.
Pepa was a little harder to convice until Julieta said that it looked like it might rain on their wedding day in her vision.
Pepa, who made it her life goal to make it rain on both of her siblings’ wedding days after they flooded her brain on her’s, immediately agrees to help.
Madricest bitches know that I’m mentally punching you in the throat
-Antonio is a little shit to Camilo every day. Little Shit behavior started as soon as he could walk. Camilo took it as a challenge though so they have mini prank wars that no one knows about
-The more negative Bruno feels when performing a prophecy, the more negative the prophecy is. If he really doesn’t want to do it, he’s more likely to show you a vision of your dog dying than meeting the love of your life. The reason the vision worked for Mirabel was bc he started to get excited once he saw the butterfly
-Both Pepa and Dolores are extremely blunt, sometimes to the point of offense. They’ll look you in the eye, tell you your face looks like crap and walk away. Dolores does this because she Does Not Care and never will. Pepa does this because she cannot read a room for shit
-Luisa has very soft and fluffy hair
-Agustin can actually be incredibly smooth on a good day. When they first met, Julieta thought he was just a cute, clumsy nerd until one day he rolled up to her table, pulled out the cleanest one-liner ever and left her a flustered mess. The illusion was immediately broken when he tripped on air while walking away but she had already fallen hard by then
-Isabela, Dolores, and Pepa have days where they’ll meet up in one of their rooms (usually Dolores’) and gossip for hours.
-At some point in their lives every grandkid has accidentally called their tia ‘Mami’. Pepa and Julieta absolutely adore it when this happens and it usually leads to a lot of cooing and smothering kisses as the grandkid in question tries to escape with their dignity
-Felix is a chess grandmaster
-Pepa and Bruno used to beat the shit out of each other on a daily basis for literally no reason. They would be walking down the same corridor, share a Look and immediately start squaring up. It baffles everyone to this day
-Luisa loved being held but she grew very quickly and soon no one was able to pick her up or give her good hugs anymore. The solution Julieta was to lay Luisa’s head in her lap and gently stroke her face and hair. It works every time and different members of the family will do this if they notice she’s feeling stressed out
-Mirabel got away with absolutely everything as a kid bc she was so damn cute. Her puppy dog eyes were especially lethal since the glasses amplified them.
-Luisa has a love of reading that she got from Alma who read to her nearly every day at one point.
-No adult in the Madrigal household has ever laid hands on their children and no adult ever will.
-Every Madrigal has an extremely deep-set sense of loyalty, Alma and Luisa especially. If you can worm your way into their hearts they’re pretty much ride or die for you unless you mess with their family.
-Dolores is the type of girl to step away and call the cops if anyone even thinks about trying to touch her. But that doesn’t mean she can’t fight
-Isabela on the other hand will throw down all day and every day. As soon as anyone gives her a reason she pops tf off. She doesn’t even use her powers, just 16 years of pent up aggression and a slowly building tolerance for pain
-Julieta has said “when I was your age…” to her triplet siblings at least once
-Isabela can create sentient potato people because fuck Disney for cutting that out
-Pepa looks a lot like her Abuela. Alma wasn’t able to save any pictures of her when they fled but she often talks about her.
-Luisa and Agustin have daddy-daughter book clubs
-Pepa doesn’t actually need to feel any particular emotion to summon weather. She can just want it to rain and boom, rain. However, she can’t control it at all when her emotions get the best of her.
-Bruno is quite the fan gossip himself. He doesn’t usually speak much but he’ll listen in on the Pepa and the girls’ sessions and they do his hair
-Julieta can just touch anything edible and it will become magical. Her logic is why wait for someone to make the food and go around putting her hands in everybody’s plates afterward when she can just make the meals herself
-Pepa is one of those people that will say she can do something she absolutely cannot do and practice it everyday until she gets good at it out of spite. Because of this she is surprisingly versatile. It’s one trait Isa and Mirabel picked up from her
~Angst~
-When they were teenagers, the triplets promised each other that they would not outlive one another. When Bruno vanished without warning, everyone initially assumed the worst. For the next few weeks, Felix and Agustin glued themselves to their wives’ sides to make sure they didn’t do anything…drastic.
-Alma had to do things…she isn’t proud of in order to ensure her family’s saftey when the Encanto was risen, especially after the triplets got their gifts. Most people were more than happy to follow her lead but there were many who saw a naive young woman with three magic piggy banks. And they were more than willing to hurt to get what they wanted
-Julieta can’t heal herself. Everyone found this out the hard way when she tripped on Bruno’s stairs and cracked her head on the steps.
-Pepa accidentally killed a man with lightning once. Alma stroked her hair as her daughter sobbed into her chest and said she would take care of it. Anyone who asks about the man is told he left to visit family. Anyone who pries further gets a visit from the town leader. No one asks about the man
-Isabela had an identity crisis a few years before canon where she constantly questioned whether her family actually loved heror if they just loved the front she put up. This caused her to be snappish and cold towards them for a few months, especially Mirabel. She eventually made up with almost everyone. Mira though? Not so much.
Madricest freaks stay the fuck back or get popped in the mouth
-Dolores is the best musician in the Encanto. She can match tone and harmonize perfectly and has a beautiful voice. Her room has an orchestra pit at the foot of her bed that she practices in almost daily. People often commission her to play at big events
-Mirabel and Camilo looked veryalike when they were younger. They were impossible to tell apart when Mira took off her glasses. Dolores and Isabela were nearly identical as babies but the difference in hair texture gave them away
-Luisa, Agustin, Julieta, Dolores, and Alma are cat people. Felix, Pepa, Mirabel, Camilo, Antonio, and Isabela are all dog people. Bruno is a rat guy.
-Alma taught Mirabel the basics for embroidery and bought her some self-help books when she wished to learn more. She also bought Mira her sewing machine
-Agustin is so clumsy bc he’s straight up wearing the wrong type of glasses and no one has realized it yet
-The grandkids consider both Pepa and Julieta to be their mothers in all but name. And treat them as such. Because of this Isabela got many of her personality traits from Pepa and Dolores got hers from Julieta
-Camilo can also shift into animals and objects he just doesn’t do it often bc switching to an entirely different anatomy feels very gross
-Antonio’s love of animals started with Bruno, who would sneak into the nursery when no one else was around and let him play with the rats
-Felix taught his daughter everything she knows about music and they love performing together.
-Antonio is extremely intelligent for his age. Like, extremely intelligent. He’s less quiet than his sister but just as perceptive
-Both Dolores and Pepa are picky eaters so they rarely eat food that is not Julieta’s cooking
-Pepa is a fantastic dancer and Mirabel learned by watching her
-Bruno was 100% a Mama’s boy when he was younger and kind of still is. Alma did not spoil her children but had a soft spot for her only son
-Bruno looks so much like Pedro that sometimes it was hard for Alma to look at him without tearing up. Post-movie Alma is better at processing her grief
-Bruno had a lisp when he was younger and his sisters bullied the hell out of him for it but they would go apeshit on anyone else that tried to poke fun at it
-All the grandkids love playing with Isabela’s hair. If she’s sitting still long enough one of them them will just show up and start braiding it. She pretends to be annoyed but secretly loves the attention
-Post-movie Isabela gave all her dresses to Mirabel and she used them to make more frilly and colorful clothing for Luisa
-Luisa always wanted to grow out her hair like Isa but thought it would get in the way while she’s working. Post-movie she’s growing it out and wears it down more often
-Pre-movie Isa and Mira liked strolling through the jungle and naming different types of plants. They’ve started doing it less as their relationship became more strained and Isa started to really feel the pressure of expectations but occasionally Mira would point at a random house plant while naming it and they would share a little smile
-Post-movie they’ve been going on these walks frequently and Isa would try to recreate every plant Mira pointed out
-Julieta is simultaneously the last person to get pissed off and the last person you want to piss off. Many childhood bullies of Bruno and Pepa’s learned this the hard way
Basically Mirabel, Camilo and Antonio still have to go to school, shenanigans ensue. Mirabel becomes and over stressed ‘gifted kid’. Camilo gets the lead in like every school play and Antonio beats up kids who talk shit.
I realised it’s probably hard to see the text so in the second picture Mirabel is saying: “now that I’ve written it I’m terrified for anyone to ever read it so what I’m gonna do, is that I’m gonna read my essay out, your going to react and we’ll all collectively decide wether or not I should kill myself” if you get that reference I love you
And in the third picture Camilo just saying “O Romeo, Romero wherefore art thou Romeo?” Cause I need Camilo to play Juliet in a play
I wanna give Mirabel a super nice lover who has a very big crush on her but thinks Mirabel won’t lover her back but Mirabel has a crush on her and dosent think she’d ever love her. So it’s this big loop of the family trying to push them together because both of them are oblivious as fuck

Mirabel started doing embroidery when Alma ripped her dress and Mirabel tried to fix it to make her happy. The dress still has the aggressive stitches from when she was 4
She is an awful cook, she found this out when she burnt pasta, she want even making pasta
When someone asks her what her gift is it usually makes her panicky that they won’t like her so she immediately changes the subject to her family cause it’s an easy subject for her and she’s genuinely very proud of them
People just kind of dump their kids on her so she become the unpaid town babysitter, only problem with that is dosent know how to handle more than one child at once. Her family usually help her though.
She has broke a lot of stuff to the point where her family immediately know if she’s broken something and how to get her to tell them what
Luisa
Mirabel just sits on her shoulder like all the time, she used to do it when she was little and the habit just never stopped
She usually calms herself down with hugs so she usually just sits with someone on the couch as they both do something, no one questions it at this point it’s just normal
Everyone just imminently assumes she the oldest of the grandkids, and are genuinely surprised when she tells them she’s the third oldest
When she was little she used to follow Isabella and Delores around the house to the point where they gave her the nickname ‘duckling’ it wore off as they all got older though
She’s Antonio’s favourite, as much as he says he loves them all equally. Giant daddy’s girl
Isabella
When Mirabel was really little she used to sit her in her lap and made her loads of flower necklaces, bracelets and crown. Mirabel and Isabella still have most of them, Mirabel have rotted and Isabella keeps her alive
She has a garden that no one knows of, it was meant to be a gift for alma after Mirabel got her gift but everyone started to panic so she abandoned it.
Isabella tells everyone that Bruno said her life would be perfect but really he told her that ‘she would marry someone she didn’t love but it would make her family happy’
She doesn’t mean the stuff she says to Mirabel at all, she’s just jealous sometimes on how Mirabel, doesn’t have any expectations to live up too
She wishes she never gotten the gift she got because she thinks maybe if she got another it would mean less pressure
Julieta & Agustin
Jullietas favourite is Mirabel mainly because she spends almost every night cooking stuff for her to heal whatever broken bone, cut or bruise she’s somehow given herself.
Agustin is from the city, he mainly came to the encanto to get Julietas food since his mum was sick, after he gave his mum the food he moved back to the encanto where he and Julieta started dating
Agustin and Mirabel are equally as clumsy as each other and get shared scoldings from Julieta.
When Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa where baby’s. Agustin would sit them on his chest as he slept
Antonio
Sometimes Antonio worries about how he might be alone because the second youngest is still ten years older than him
He has cried multiple times because his family stepped into ants
Antonio likes to sit on people’s laps and hug onto them, even if he gets stressed out by too much attention he still likes hugs though, he can never get too much of them
He and Mirabel used to sit up ever night telling each other stories or just whatever rumour they heard around town, they would sit under a blanket with stuffed animals and a flashlight.
After Antonio got his gift and his room he still sneaks into the nursery to talk with Mirabel, the only difference is he brings his animal friends with him
Camilo
He’s a chaotic dumbass, like even he knows it, so does everyone else
When someone is talking he’ll usually stand behind them and shapeshift into them.
If someone in the family has a crush he immediately starts to shapeshift into who they have a crush on just to annoy and fluster them
He’s very much a mamas boy, him and Pepa usually go out together to the shops cause he likes to spend time with her
He sometimes shapeshifts into alma to make people do what he wants
Delores
She usually so quiet because if she talks louder it hurts her ears
When she first got her powers everyone in the crowd cheered and since she wasn’t used to her powers she almost had a panic attack
She hears one time heard someone talk about her during dinner and burst out crying
Delores one time dropped Camilo of the center but in the house, she says to this day thats why he’s so weird
Antonio does the thing where he attaches himself to her leg and won’t let go, she’s gotten so used to it she can just walk around with him on her leg
Pepa & Felix
Felix calls Pepa “sunshine” and Pepa calls Felix “Rainbow”
Pepa sometimes tries to change her emotions to give people the weather they want but it barely ever works
Pepa was originally going to get married to someone else but she found out he was only using her for her family magic, Felix comforted her when she was scared to tell her family.
After that whole thing happened Felix had always been slightly protective of Pepa.
Felix used to be scared the family would think less of him cause he wasn’t magical but when he met Agustin it made him feel better.
Bruno
He really wanted to be an actor when he was little but when he got his power he knew it wouldn’t be possible
He basically sees Mirabel as his daughter, he got really attached to her quickly
Hes named named his rats after his sisters and dad. He would have named one after alma but everytime he thinks about her he feels like he was too much of a disappointment to even say her name
Jullieta taught Bruno how to cook but hes still not as good as her but he’s pretty close.
Bruno constantly get his clothes caught on everything, no matter what he does his clothes will always get caught
Alma & Pedro
Alma Says she dosent have a favourite but her favourite is Isabella and everyone knows it’s Isabela get she still denies it
If Pedro was still alive his favourite would either be Camilo or Delores but he’d still treat all his grandkids equal
Alma and Pedro were originally going to be an arranged marriage but they did grow to love eachother and ran away to get married on their own terms
Before they got Casita Alma was a florist and Pedro was a baker. Pedro would always go to her flowers forgetting she worked their.
Jullieta, Pepa and Bruno are named after their mums and dad.
- Because of his future vision he’ll often see bits of pop culture that no one has heard of before. So he’ll often make a joke referencing that part of pop culture laugh to himself for a minute and then remember no one else got his joke
- isa is a asexual lesbian that uses she/him pronouns cause why not?
- When pepa and felix started dating pepa always referred to bruno as her “little brother” so felix was always imagining like a 10 year old. When invited over to meet her family he had gotten a surprise toy because he thought bruno was like a kid and was very shocked to see a grown ass man who he then found out was only 3 minutes younger then pepa
- Felix side of the family absolutely adores pepa family and thinks the magic they have is super cool. While augstin side of the family is very jealous of julieta and her families magic
- Mirabel is pedro reincarnated
- Dolores really enjoys silent movies since she can just not listen and still know what happening
- Mirabel can look at someone do something once and be able to do it herself with relative ease (she can just basically pick up most skills with very little effort)
- Camilo is a picky eater so he often just eats a bunch of like one thing at meals to the point there’s none for anyone else
-Luisa is lactose intolerant
- When julieta and agustin first started dating bruno didn’t like him but now hes probably one of bruno’s favorite people to talk to
- One time pepa insulted bruno and instead of getting upset he just looked in to her eyes and was like “October 3rd”. Pepa freaked out after that thinking she was gonna die but it was actually the day she was going to meet felix
- Felix and Augustin where both born and raised outside of encanto and moved there later in life
-Since encanto is so isolated most of the family only knows what going on in the world through bruno’s predictions

The girl grandkids try to have a sleepover and camilo tries to crash it
Luisa and isa both think the other has the easier responsibilities so they decide to switch jobs for a day to see who has it harder
The madrigal sisters go on an adventure which cause them to argue which is better brain beauty or brawns. In the end they come to the conclusion that they couldn’t have finished there adventure without all three

The madrigal family takes a day in the city where they get taken by bounty hunters so they can profit off there gifts. Augstin felix mirabel and alma have to save there family
The triplets get in to a huge fight and don’t talk to eachother for days until there all locked in to the same room and have to talk about there feelings
Mirabel makes her family play a dnd (parody) game with mirabel as the dungeon master
Decorations for an upcoming party are ruined and camilo takes it upon himself to investigate doing a noir film parody along the way

Zombie episode where the town villagers get infected by a mysterious illness getting to everyone in the town even the madrigals. When all seems hopeless the house releases a large burst of magic uninfecting everyone in town but also erasing there memories of the entire event ever happening
