GOP governor on NC-style Bathroom Bill: “Why? Why would we? Why would anybody need it? Is it an issue?

gov-matt-bevins
LEXIE CANNES STATE OF TRANS — Kentucky’s Republican governor Matt Bevins continued his comments on the Bathroom Bill matter in a news conference last week: “Is there anyone you know in Kentucky who has trouble going to the bathroom? Seriously. Have you heard of one person in Kentucky having trouble taking care of business in Kentucky? … … the last thing we need is more government rules.…

You are in a unique position to help America right now.

Mitch McConnell is reportedly going home after single-handedly ignoring the cries of 800,000 hungry, frustrated families and refusing to bring the bill set to reopen the government ti the Senate floor. He is doing this with full knowledge that YOU, his own people, are the sacrificial lambs so he can continue getting cushy Russian paychecks and licking Trump’s nutsack.

Do this for your countryfolk and for America: change his mind. There are no rules. Bang down his door. Protest in front of his mansion and local office. Harrass him everywhere he goes. Tell him that if he doesn’t send the bill to a vote, this year of Russian mob money and nice government perks will most certainly be his last. Remember: he’s running in 2020. Scare the piss out of him. Make him feel as vulnerable and insecure about his job as 800,000 families currently are.

Go to it, Kentucky. Our entire country’s future is at stake. Give Turtleman all the shit he deserves. We are counting on you.

Signed, Democracy

If you are ever lucky enough to visit the beautiful town of Bardstown, KY (Bourbon Capital of the World), please visit the historic “Old Talbott Tavern”. The setting is just so comfortable and the food is hot and delicious.

For more images keep in mind I do keep albums of my photography adventures on my Facebook page. Tumblr gives me the advantage of showcasing some of my favorite shots in an easy to view setting, but a lot more makes it to my Facebook page.

There is a link at the top of my page, but I will also provide one here:

These high school students are tackling Kentucky’s mental health crisis

An insidious problem is lurking in Kentucky’s schools: Students across the state are reporting high amounts of psychological stress, anxiety, and depression. The problem has become so bad that suicide is now the second leading cause of death for the state’s youth.

While nationally, mental health awareness has increased, for Kentucky’s teenagers, the issue isn’t getting nearly enough attention. During her sophomore year, Kentucky high schooler Allison Tu realized mental health was being treated like an afterthought in her school. “One student told me that all of their suicide prevention education, which is mandated, technically, by Kentucky law but left up to districts to administer, is just a bookmark,” Tu explained to The Week. “A literal, physical bookmark that has a suicide prevention hotline number on it, and that was it.”
