The first picture shows the little lawn mowers yesterday after I moved them to new grass. They woke up to the second picture and I don’t think they were pleased.

I so enjoy listening to theses two chomp down their hay each day. Soon it will be green enough to get them moving around the fields on fresh grass.

The three ducks are excited to be back together again now that the fair is over. Momo, the drake, insists that at least once a day they make their rounds and inspect the farm. They slowly waddle through the taller grass and over or around any obstacles and usually in single file line. Here they are checking in on the laying hens before heading back to their shady spot under the trampoline.

I think we need to get some larger ruminants, or just more of the same size. The grass is almost as tall as these two.

I’m struggling with a feeling of helplessness about Ukraine & Russia.

I suspect you are, too.

Two years after the covid mask mandates were put into place, they are being lifted here in a few minutes. It’s a moment that many are happy to see. It’s a visible move toward life as we knew it, but the war in Ukraine ⚔️weighs heavily on all of us️.

Creative solutions & organizations have surfaced that are giving us ways to help. I’ve contributed to several efforts that will provide supplies & shelter, ️ but I feel like I’m pasting a band aid over a catastrophic condition that really needs open-heart surgery.

The daily news is filled with images of bombed out buildings, wounded people, & soldiers, & reports of deaths, including children. It paints pictures that conjures up loathing for the Russian president.

I’m seeing goodbye posts from Russian friends who fear they will soon lose the ability to stay in touch with their Instagram friends & family. It’s heartbreaking. Some of us have known each other for many years‍‍. Instagram has bridged divides & enabled us to exchange our good feelings for one another – often without words.

What needs to happen? How are you dealing with your feelings about what is going on?
