Both of these plants grow beautifully in New England gardens. Japanese fern grows best in dappled shade.

This was one of my first succulent purchases, an Echeveria from the Flower District in Manhattan. It is my partner in crime’s favorite succulent because it looks like a flower. I like that up close you can see the patterning on the leaves, it’s almost like frog skin!

Next in the up close look at my succulent collection is this Sedum adolphii. I picked him up at last year’s Philadelphia Flower Show. I like how the macro lens gets you closer to the developing leaves and their spiral pattern. I attended this year’s Flower Show, but didn’t leave with any plants. It seemed like there were fewer vendors than last year, and I’m also more picky now that my windowsill is all filled up!
