Backstory:
Phoebus has always been the anxious type. Not that he dislikes being around people, he just thinks the worse will happen. Murphy’s Law, if something can go wrong it will go wrong. It was Phoebus’ twin, Kell, that made sure to drag Phoebus out and about. They were thick as thieves, these half-fae kids.
Phoebus was the only one to get magic though. It was a tough time for them. Kell felt resentment. Phoebus just wanted to spend time with his brother. It turned into Kell always trying to avoid Phoebus, and Phoebus trailing after Kell.
When Phoebus went to Night Raven, he was alone and terrified. He tried to find people to cling to. Upperclassmen, predominantly, but a few peers as well. But jow, he’s the upperclassmen and he does not know how to deal with that!

Krolia had a temper. She had always known this, but since joining the Blades she had gotten better at holding it in through meditation and hardwork. Right now, in this moment, there was nothing in the universe that could hold back her rage. Not even Kolivan’s cold disapproving stare would quell her.
She screamed in fury as she knocked to the side another human soldier, and then another. Krolia was trying to be careful to not kill any of them, but it was difficult. These people had her cub, and she not let anything stand in her way.
A human held out a gun, but she spun her sword, sliced it in half before throwing the man against the wall. She didn’t know how these people found her cub, but Krolia was not going to let them keep him. If she couldn’t rescue her mate, she refused to leave Keith here.
Krolia ran straight ahead, until she found the holding cell. It took little effort to break the code and the cell open. A small child with her mate’s eyes stared up from his spot on the floor and he gasped.
Krolia’s heart melted instantly. He had grown up so much since she left. Had so much time had already passed. Keith swallowed as he instantly backed up against the wall.
“Who..who are you?” he asked as his eyes hardened, and he held up his fists. “What do you want?”
She gave a bitter laugh. “Ready for a fight, already?” she muttered. “You are mine.”
Keith blinked in confusion. “What?”
Krolia walked in and kneeled to be at his height. She wanted to explain everything to him, but there was no time. Not here. “Your father sent me to get you,” she said softly.
“My dad?” Keith said. “How do you know him?”
“It’s a long story,” Krolia said softly as she placed a hand over her shoulder, “but I need to get you out of here first-”
She heard more feet approach from behind her and then a large man appeared at the door.
“Stay right where you are,” he ordered as more gunmen appeared behind him.
Keith swallowed and suddenly clung to Krolia as his small fists began to shake. Krolia wrapped an arm protectively around her boy as she held up her sword.
“I give you all one warning,” she said coldly. “Let me leave with this child and you will not be harmed.”
The large man narrowed his eyes. “No,” he said in a flat tone.
Krolia stood up as she held Keith with one arm and the boy buried his face into her chest. “Then you leave me no choice.”
She charged forward and quickly showed them what happened when someone tried to get between a Galra mother and her cub.
