Summary

Din Djarin has lost everything. Grogu is gone, his ship was destroyed, and he’s alone again. Unsure of what lies next for him, and questioning his Creed deeply after revealing his face to Grogu during their emotional goodbye, Din heads back to Nevarro to see his friends, Greef and Cara.

When he arrives, he finds Letos’ Grack, a merciless bounty hunter he’d crossed paths with in the past, trying to hand off his latest capture—you. Well aware of how cruel Letos’ could be and having heard his declaration of executing you if he does not receive the reward for your capture, Din kills him.

After setting you free, you make it clear you have no where to go and Greef offers both you and Din a safe place to stay. Although grateful, you refuse to reveal anything about yourself to Din or the others, including who had the bounty out on you. And as he gets to know you, his feelings evolve into something he doesn’t understand, until Din begins to reassess his options and lay everything on the line.

Based post season 2 of the Mandolorian, slightly off cannon because I’ve kept out the bit where he gets the Dark Saber and is ruler of Mandalore.

… “You know the operator here, so certainly it isn’t assistance in finding a better ship then the hunk of junk you just landed in our city.”

Din grunts, unamused at her teasing but far from offended. It was just the way she was, he knew from their short alliance not too long ago. “I killed Letos’ Grack.”

Her eyes widen in surprise, her usually cool mask slipping at his revelation. “This just got a lot more interesting…”

Warnings: 18+, violence, eventual smut, language.

…You kept your eyes cast down, staring unseeingly at the cuffs binding your wrists together. The flesh beneath was sore, raw, and you wished someone would remove them.

But they still saw you as a threat, because you were a mystery—a stranger, dumped in front of Greef Karga by a ruthless bounty hunter that appeared not to know how things had changed on Nevarro.

You had heard some rumours about the fall of the imperial base, the subsequent rebuilding on this planet. But of course, that had been when you were travelling with spice runners, months ago. Or had it been longer?

You’re not sure, actually, how long Letos’ had you in carbonite after…well. You can’t even remember where he had captured you. You would need to deal with the memory gaps later, if you weren’t killed.

You had hoped, rather foolishly when you realized you had been taken to Nevarro, that the changes that the runners had spoken of might mean kinder treatment. But Karga and a woman that wore a Marshal sigil appeared entirely unsure of what to do with you, and so you remained bound on the ground, kneeling as you awaited your fate.

“Even if we did decide to turn her in, going against everything we stand for now, there’s no tracking fob, we have no connections with the Guild—we don’t know who wants her!” Karga spoke in a hushed tone, and you could feel his eyes on you, unsure and at a loss. That made two of you.

Letos’ cold voice spoke from somewhere behind you, “I was never given that information when I took the puck. And it seems the agent who gave it to me met a messy end over on Tatooine,” he paused, and you imagined he was now gesturing at you as his next words rang out, “I’m afraid I have no need for the girl, so if you won’t accept her, I’ll be proceeding to execution. She is too much of a liability and I intend to leave the Outer Rim for good after this.”

He stopped talking abruptly at the sound of a door sliding open to your right. At first, the room was silent and you thought perhaps no one had entered, until Karga’s companion gasped after a beat.

“You’re back!”

Greef moved past you to the silent newcomer, and you follow his path with your eyes, turning your neck and flinching at the stiffness. There’s a few moments of greetings that you miss as your ears thrum with the pain, not just in your neck but everywhere. When you can finally focus again, which takes quite a bit of concentration, you see a tall figure covered entirely in beskar, and you have to search for the word.

Mand—Mandolorian. Yes, that was what, or rather who, you were looking at. A Mandolorian warrior. You had never seen one in person before, but there was no mistaking the helmet, the head to foot beskar armor, or the way Letos’ grunted in irritation tinged with concern as he surveyed the man.

“I hate to interrupt, Karga,” He hissed, and you heard him take a step closer to you. Not wanting to show the fear you felt—because you’d certainly heard his declaration just before the Mandolorian appeared—you worked slowly in your kneeled position to sit straighter. Head held high. “But I do need to make my leave.”

You felt all eyes on you in that moment. The too-thin, scraggly little creature you’d become when trying to flee your past. You hadn’t been raised in a way that made you tough when it came to starving night after night, even if you could hold your own in hand to hand combat or handle a blaster well enough. It didn’t matter when you continued to wither down and then just as you finally found a decent group and started to settle and feel safe, Letos’ stole you away and put you in carbonite.

All you wanted was a hot meal, long bath and to fall asleep in a real bed. And for the nightmares to stop.

Instead, a group of strangers were assessing you, deciding your fate despite none of them even knowing who had originally hired bounty hunters to track you down. If you told them, they wouldn’t believe you anyway. You had no proof. You consider speaking, just to say that you’re pretty sure you were meant to be kept alive, but it seems so feeble a plan you close your eyes briefly as the weight of imminent death settles on your shoulders.

When you open your eyes again, the Mandolorian is looking right at you. His helmet tilts, ever so slightly, and you aren’t sure how you know, but you do—you’re looking straight back at him, and you school your expression to ensure he doesn’t see your fear.

Letos’ patience runs thin, “I’ll take her and—“

No.”

The modulated voice that comes from the helmet is deep, the tone eerily calm. The Mandolorian takes a few steps—around Greef and the Marshal, his head moving only slightly, though you think he’s looking from you to Letos’, and then something shifts in the very air. Maybe your adrenaline is running so high that your senses are on overdrive, because no one else reacts to the sudden tension.

But the Mandolorian does stiffen, he does turn his head a fraction as if beneath the helmet he’s fixing Letos’ with a mighty glare. And then, in the space of a breath, he moves. Moves like lightning, so fast you can’t even blink before there’s a groan, a wet ripping sound, and then a dull thud as Letos’ body slumps to the ground behind you, dead.

You gasp, petrified, as the Mandolorian pulls the blade from your captors chest and turns to you. A whimper does escape now, though you manage not to wet yourself despite the fear. You want to say something, beg for your life or simply scream, but then he speaks.

Burc'ya, don’t be afraid,” The modulated voice is softer now, almost a soothing whisper. He drops the weapon and rips the gloves from his hands, revealing golden-tanned, calloused skin. He raises them as if in surrender, “Gedet'ye udessi! You’re safe, you’re safe.”

You’re shivering now, your eyes moving from the helmet to the blood pooling on the ground next to Letos’ body. You don’t know the language he speaks, but you can guess the meaning behind the words. Still, you can’t do more than tremble. As if sensing your thoughts, he speaks again, this time only in basic.

“No one will harm you again, little one.”

You stare at your reflection in the helmet for a moment before pulling in a slow breath. You hold his gaze—at least, based on your best guess of where his eyes are—and your voice comes out softly as you say your name. He should know you have a name.

Another brief pause, and then your body gives out as the adrenaline fades and you sag forward. Your vision pinpricks just as you see him reach out to catch you, and then there’s nothing but darkness…

Short Debts Make Long Friends - snippet from Ch. 7

“What are you doing?” he asks, confused.

“Going to sleep,” you answer matter-of-factly.

“But – ”

“I promised to stop worrying about paying you back,“ you point out, "I didn’t promise to sleep on the bed. Sweet dreams.”

You snuggle down on the floor with your blanket and pillow, all smiles, and he suddenly realizes has he just walked straight into a trap of his own making.

Dank fucking ferrik karking damn it to hell.

“I’ll buy you the droid,” he offers, voice flat.

You pop straight up back from the pillow. “Huh?”

He shouldn’t have been so quick to put the helmet back on. It would be very nice to be able to close his eyes and pinch the bridge of his nose.

“Share the bed with me and I’ll buy you the droid.” He hears his own words play back in his head and cringes.

“Back home that would be considered a form of prostitution,” you brightly observe.

His wince deepens into a grimace. Shit shit shit shit –

Your nose wrinkles. “Do I still have to stop worrying about paying you back?”

“Yes!” he explodes. This was already a raw deal; who knows what you might trick him into doing next?

Short Debts Make Long Friends - Ch. 6 - “How Long Does It Take Someone to Fall Apart?”

You walk a few feet inside and slow to a halt, surveying the accommodations. The room is spartan, but similar enough to what you would expect in a motel at home. Chair, bathroom, nightstand, bed.

It’s a small bed.

Later, you tell yourself. You’ll bully him into taking the bed. Or guilt him into it. Something. He will be sleeping on that mattress tonight, even if it is the last thing you do. And it very well may be, considering the wide variety of ways to kill, maim, or detonate someone that he carries on his person at any given time.

The floor creaks as he sets your new backpack by the door. You mumble a thank you but don’t turn around, choosing to withdraw into yourself instead…deliberately stepping away from the battle of remaining focused and present. You aren’t giving up, you’re giving in, and right now you don’t have to exist any further beyond four walls, a floor, and a ceiling.

The silvery ring of beskar briefly fills the silence as Mando slides the spear from behind his back, followed by a quiet thud as he props it up in the corner. He’s waiting for you to say something, do something.

“Will you…will you be okay?” he finally asks. Given his earlier reticence, he seems oddly reluctant to leave.

“Yeah,” you reply, still facing the bed. “But I need a little while to not be.” Really, really not, you silently add.

He takes the hint and quietly lets himself out.

For The Love Of Kit-Kat

Pairing: Dieter Bravo x fem!reader

Rating: Mature - 18+ Only!

Word Count: 3500+

Warnings:Just like ao3, “creator chooses not to use warnings.” If you click Keep Reading, that means you agree that you’re the age to handle mature themes. Also by clicking Keep Reading, you understand warnings may not be complete in order to avoid spoilers for the story.

A/N: @musings-of-a-rose gave me this idea and I kinda rolled with you.

Growing up with Dieter was always an adventure. You met him your first day of first grade on Valentine’s Day. No one gave you anything because nobody knew you. When you came back to your new assigned desk from lunch that day you had a Kit Kat bar with a child handwriting saying:

“Will You be My Valentine? Check off Yes or No? Dieter Bravo

You didn’t know who Dieter Bravo was until 6 year old Dieter came up to you and announced himself.

“Hi, I’m Dieter and want to be my friend?”

With glee you nodded with excitement and your life with Dieter was never the same. As the years went by you and Dieter were inseparable. Experiencing everything together. In 7th grade you both shared your first kiss at a party while playing Truth or Dare. Since that day your crush on him started. When the both of you entered High School Dieter told you that he wanted to be an actor and one day win an Oscar. You wanted to be a lawyer and UCLA was the college of dreams. With both of your dream places colliding you made a pact that after graduation you both would move out to California and pursue your dream careers. When senior prom came around you knew that you were going together but everything changed when he told you that he was going to prom with his crush. Heartbroken as you were, you accepted that if there was a chance between you and Dieter it went out the door once you found out he was going with someone else. After Prom he finally got together with his crush and you became a distant memory to him. Dieter spent all his time with new gf and you became an afterthought to him. One afternoon he showed up to your house with news that he was finally moving to California. Caught off guard because he hadn’t mentioned anything to you about you being disappointed but everything came tumbling down when he told you that his girlfriend was coming with him. Seemingly he had forgotten the pact that you both made years ago.

Here was your one shot to tell Dieter your true feelings for him after all these years. Maybe he would change his mind and stay to be with you but nevertheless you gave one last hug and wished him the best.

As Dieter drives away you run to your bedroom and weep for the rest of night never knowing that you didn’t express to him your true feelings and that you would never see him again.

The voices of the other adult travelers in the second class were a constant murmur around you after Din left with the train attendant.

The last dregs of sunlight disappeared as the stars sparkled brighter. While the few clouds left in the dark sky were joined by the darker smudge. The coal-laden smoke was being thrown up by the train engine several cars ahead of the second class seating you were currently in.

As the train slowed down for a curve in the tracks up ahead, you were jostled around on the wooden bench a few times. You had to keep a good hold on Lewie to make sure he stayed in your lap.

The boy grunted and frowned in his sleep, his one chubby hand gripping tighter onto the front of your blouse. The other hand, held on to the little stuffed toy elephant Lewie had kept so safely during your journey. Every time that toy had gotten dusty or dirty little Lewis would brush it off carefully, and when he was worried about Charlie he would ask for him to get put into one of Din’s saddlebags. It was adorable, yet even as you brushed a hand over his soft, round cheek you started to worry.

“Ensure the safe return of the girl and you will get your ship.”

A deal that would place The Mandalorian in the middle of centuries old conflict between two ruling families of the planet.  Din must choose between aiding the princesses’ plot for revenge or leaving Atlas with his life.  “All live to die, and rise to fall.”― Christopher Marlowe, Edward II

You looked from the bent iron fire poker up to the man cloaked in beskar. In one fluid motion you dropped the stick, hiked up your skirts, and fled on foot. You had no sense of where you were going, only that it was going to be as far away from the mandalorian as possible. Once you entered the treeline, you dared a glance behind you at the small cottage from which you fled. The scene left you bewildered to say the very least; the cottage and the clearing were as unassuming as ever. You continued to charge on, further into the foliage - Your path lit only by slivers of moonlight and bioluminescent flowers

You slowed to a stop after running for another twenty minutes. You held your breath and waited for a moment, still nothing.

‘It couldn’t have been that easy,’ you thought.

Maybe the stories of your childhood were fabricated after all. An animal called from a tree high above your head. The realization washed over you. You were now faced with a new challenge, getting out…but the sun would not rise again for another three wake cycles, you would need to come up with a plan. Would he be waiting for you to return to your cottage?

Should you even attempt to return, or press on deeper in a desperate hope to reach another settlement? These thoughts were cut short at the snap of a twig somewhere in the distance. You whipped your head around to place the source….you couldn’t. The air was thick with tension, as though in some shadowy corner of the clearing there were eyes on you and any sudden movement would spur an attack.

Another snapping sound came from behind you. From the darkness emerged a creature like none you had ever seen before. Large scales formed thick jagged plates over the creature’s body. Three pointed horns jutted out from atop its head, elongating its already horrifying size. The creature craned its neck and opened its mouth - emitting a bombing roar.

A large bang rang out behind you just as the creature  charged. You dropped to your knees and covered your head, bracing yourself for the inevitable when- it never came. When you glanced up,  the creature was laid face down in the brush.

Just then a blunt object was pressed to your back while a leather boot stepped into your peripheral.

“Stand,” a voice said in a distinctly modulated voice.

You already knew who it belonged to.

“And if I don’t?” You shot back.

The Mandalorian stayed silent.

“I know you can’t touch me - I know that was the order that they gave. And if you don’t bring me in alive, then it’s you who will  have a bounty on your head” you said, voice dripping with undeserved confidence considering the circumstances.

The Mandalorian issued the same command a little more forcefully this time “stand.”

You did not waver, “and if I don-”

Suddenly a sharp pain radiated through your back. You felt the air get snatched from your lungs as a flash of heat seemed to cut through you. The feeling stopped as quickly as it began. You

gasped and fell forward onto the soil, clutching your stomach.

‘He shocked me!’ You thought ‘that fucking bastard.”

“Stand,” he said again, voice as emotionless as ever.

You stayed on the ground until you felt the object dig into you again, a warning. You gave in.

Defeated, she pulled yourself from the forest floor shrugging off the throbbing pain radiating from your back.

As soon as you were on your feet, he spoke again “walk.”

You did as you were told, all the while trying to come up with a plan of escape.

“Did Balthar send you?” You asked.

When you were met with silence you pressed on, “how much did he pay you- because I am certain that I can match it, exceed it even.”

More silence.

You were growing more and more frustrated with each step forward. “I thought Mandalorians are supposed to be people of honor. How you can serve such a vile man is beyond comprehension….I am certain that your kind must be embarrassed by you. ”

Still nothing, you would need to find some means of getting information…..

The Mandalorian marched you past your cottage and around your settlement. You could see candle lights flickering in the windows behind  woven curtains. You could scream, but you were worried about the fate of any resident who tried to help.

For three months you had lived in blissful anonymity. The escape had been orchestrated perfectly, so how was it he tracked you down? You raked your brain for any missteps you could have taken, but came up with nothing. You had been so careful. Now the residents would emerge from their sleep cycles to find your home abandoned. What would they think happened to you?

One Year Later - Part 8

Masterlist

Summary: You and the Mandalorian had been through so much together. You’d become a mother to his foundling and a partner to him. You were in love and you didn’t think that anything could ruin that but after Din hands the child over to his kind. Things fall apart.

Pairings: Din Djarin x Reader

Warnings: Like AO3, I have chosen not to leave warnings for this chapter as I don’t want to give the plot away. Read at your own peril… unless you’re under 18… in that case, jog on!

Notes: So…. soz this took so long. This chapter was particularly hard for me to write as elements of it are close to me as I’ve been struggling to similar issues. I hope this was worth the wait and I will try update this a little sooner than I have. A little shorter but I didn’t feel like this particular chapter needed to be longer

Part 1, Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6,Part 7

You threw the scanner away angrily, desperately trying to keep your tears at bay so that Din wouldn’t hear you. The reading it had given you was the same one it had given you for the last four months.

You weren’t pregnant.

You knew these things took time but you didn’t understand why you’d gotten pregnant by accident with Mae yet now you were actively trying it wasn’t happening. You were so sure this time. The symptoms had all been there and you were late… over a week yet the scanner didn’t lie.

You weren’t looking forward to telling Din that you still weren’t pregnant, the disappointment in his eyes after each failed attempt was heartbreaking.

It had been six months since you’d started. Six months of hopes being dashed each time the scanner told you no. Din had been good about it all at the start. Telling you it was okay and that it would happen when the time was right but he’d also started to withdraw.

You looked up to see him limp into the home you both shared, his expression weary from a day’s work in the ponds. He’d gotten to work as soon as he was able and you’d been glad of the distraction it gave him. Something to take his mind off of all this.

“Where’s Mae?” He asked as he looked around for his daughter.

“With Winta and the other kids. Omera’s keeping an eye on them.” You replied and he nodded before his eye caught sight of the scanner that you’d haphazardly thrown across the room and his shoulders slumped.

He didn’t ask but you knew he knew and your heart sank a little further as you watched him clean himself up.

“Din-“

“It’ll happen when it happens.” He said simply and you sighed.

“What if it never does?”

He stopped to look at you. Tears formed in his eyes as his lips started to form the words he was about to say.

“Then it wasn’t meant to be.” He replied before limping into your shared bedroom to change his clothes.

You sighed to yourself as your eyes drifted to the scanner. Your hand, absentmindedly, settled over your empty womb. You wished you could give Din the thing he now so desperately craved. You hated what this was doing to you both because the truth of the matter was it was impossible to tell why it wasn’t happening. It hadn’t helped that as each month went by, you were less intimate with each other. You knew it wasn’t something you could force but it was a vital part of what you were trying to accomplish.

After having a little cry. You composed yourself and went about preparing dinner for your family. When Din was changed and bathed he went to collect Mae, not even a glance was thrown your way as he made his way out of the hut and into the evening light. You felt a pang of anger surge through you at his behaviour towards you and you started to wonder… Does he blame you for this?

When he returned with Mae, he placed her in her seat before taking one himself as you threw down a plate of food for him before taking yours outside, not wanting to eat in his presence.

Din watched you leave. His heart ached in his chest at your coldness towards him but he supposed he deserved it. He didn’t know how to be towards you. He hated that he couldn’t give you a child and he knew in his soul that it was his fault. It was obvious to him that he was the problem. He was sure his accident was to blame for his inability to give you another child.

He watched Mae as she fed herself, unable to comprehend how far she’d come since he first laid eyes on her. She had grown so much in the short time she’d been around and he was so proud of the little person she’d grown to be. She was a kind soul, always worrying over him when he stumbled or showed any sign of discomfort. For someone so small, nothing slipped her notice.

When he put Mae down, he made his way outside where you were sitting there tearful in your chair. His heart shattered at the sight. He hated to see you cry. Hated to inflict any pain on you but this situation was hurting you both. So perhaps it was time to call quits.

“What do you want Din?” You asked, noticing him hovering just out of sight.

“I think we need to stop.” He stated and your head whipped up.

“Stop what?” You asked, your tone a little panicked.

“It’s clear to me that another baby isn’t an option for us so I think it’s best we stop trying.” He said plainly and your heart twisted “It hurts too much.”

“Okay.” You replied simply, nodding lamely before looking over at the sunset in the distance.

“Okay?” He asked, unsure of how you truly felt at that moment.

“Okay.” You repeated, shrugging your shoulders.

“You agree?” He pushed and you sighed.

“If you don’t want another baby then fine. We’ll stop trying.” You scoffed “You clearly aren’t that bothered about it as you need to be intimate to make a child and we seldom are anymore. Then when I tell you I’m not pregnant you just tell me it’ll happen when it happens or it wasn’t meant to be as.”

“I want a baby.” He choked “More than anything, you know that but it’s just not happening and I can’t bear seeing how it hurts you.”

“It hurts me more when you ice me out.” You scoffed “I’m sorry I can’t get pregnant but-“

“I don’t blame you.” He interrupted and your mouth snapped shut “It’s clear my accident is to blame for this and I’m sorry that I can’t give you another baby.” He sobbed “I wish I could but…” He trailed off, tears slipping down his cheeks and your expression softened at that.

“Maybe we should stop.” You said softly as you gave him a small nod “I don’t want this to tear us apart.”

“I don’t want that either.” He confirmed and you gave him a weak smile before gathering your crockery and getting to your feet.

“Then we’re in agreement.” You said simply before walking inside.

Din knew you. Knew you weren’t happy with this situation but he knew he couldn’t keep getting his hopes up, only for them to fall to pieces again. He still believed that if it was meant to be it would happen in time but for now… It was best to just stop trying.

~

A few weeks passed and you and Din didn’t broach the subject of another baby again. The two of you returned to a form of normal. You focus your energy on the family you did have. Instead of the family, you longed for… And that helped you to a degree.

Then in the blink of an eye, two months had gone by and it seemed like that pain had all but dissipated. That was until Kira in the village fell pregnant and suddenly all that hurt returned. You were happy for her of course. Recently married and was completely in love but as her pregnancy progressed, it started to get hard to be happy for her.

You started to withdraw, spending less time with her and your female friends who couldn’t help but coo over her as she started to show more and more. You felt bitterness towards her and despite knowing it was wrong, you couldn’t help it. Kira had been one of your closest friends. She’s supported you through your pregnancy and you’d be lying if you said you could have done it without her. Yet when she went through hers, you found it almost impossible to give her that same support you gave her.

Din noticed and called you upon it. Told you it was selfish how you were behaving and you knew he was right yet still you couldn’t help it. The pain you felt was just too much to bear and so you chose to close yourself off from it.

From the people, you called your friends.

Omera could see you were struggling yet still found herself angry at you. It wasn’t Kira’s fault yours and Din’s attempts to get pregnant had come to nought. She didn’t deserve to suffer because you were jealous of her circumstances. So when Kira has felt the baby move for the first time and you’d just walked away, she decided enough was enough.

“You’ve been terrible to Kira!” She stated, following you into your home.

“What?” You snapped, turning on your heels to face her.

“She’s going through something so exciting and you want zero part of it.” She snapped, her eyes wide and angry “She supported you through it all. She deserves the same from you.”

“Omera I-“

“I’m sorry your attempts to get pregnant were frivolous but that doesn’t give you the right to push her away.”

“I can stand there and be happy for her when it hurts so much.” You yelled as you choked on a sob “I wanted another baby so much and then each month we came up empty and it just killed me inside.” You sobbed “It’s hard to be happy for someone who’s getting something you want so badly.”

“I understand that.” Omera sighed but you groaned.

“Din just decided to stop trying altogether.” Stated and you sighed “To the point where he doesn’t want to be physical at all.”

Omera couldn’t hide the shock that spread across her face.

“We sleep separately now.” You sobbed “He doesn’t love me anymore. I’m sure of it and I don’t know how much longer I can go on like this Omera.”

“I don’t-“

“I wish we’d never started trying.” You cried, almost frantically now “If we’d never started we wouldn’t be so broken right now.”

“These sorts of situations can be the making or breaking of relationships,” Omera confessed “You get so in your head about it that it consumes you.”

“I love him.”

“I know” She replied softly “And he loves you.”

You scoffed at her reply and she sighed, scraping a hand over her tired face.

“I am sure that he does.” She continued after a short pause “But he is clearly not dealing with this very well.” You snorted and she felt her patience wear thin at “Talk to him.” She said plainly before turning to leave “Before you lose everyone.”

Your jaw dropped as you watched her leave, mind whirring as you thought about her statement. You knew you’d been selfish but you couldn’t help it. You felt like your life was falling apart and you had no way of stopping it.

You watched Din potter around the house, poking his head in to check on Mae before finally allowing himself to take a seat on his cot in the living area and throwing his tired face into his hands.

“What happened to us?” You asked after a few tense moments.

“What?” He asked, looking up at you as his brows knitted together.

“We were happy.” You choked, eyes not wavering “Then we started trying and the longer we’ve gone on, unsuccessful, the more I feel like perhaps you don’t love me anymore.”

“What gives you that impression?” He snapped and you scoff at his obvious cluelessness.

“Well, we don’t even share a bed anymore for a start.” You state, letting out a sturred breath before continuing “You fuck me like once a week but there’s no love in your touches anymore.” You continue, unable to hide the tears now “It’s not pleasurable. You don’t make me cum but of course, you always do.”

His face remains stoic as you speak. Not giving you any clues as to what he’s thinking or how he’s feeling about what it is you’re saying.

“If you don’t love me anymore Din then please just tell me now.” You sobbed, your heart breaking as you speak “But please don’t just up and leave me again. You can’t just leave Mae.”

“I would never-”

“You did once before.” You sobbed and he let out a sigh.

“Are you seriously still holding that against me?” He snapped “I proved to you how sorry I was… I almost died proving to you how sorry I was.” He growled, his own eyes now filling with tears “I lost my ability…”

He couldn’t finish that sentence and you sighed.

“You can walk now Din.” You stated, “You’re getting stronger every day but-”

“That’s not what I meant” He stated and your brows drew together.

“It can’t be a coincidence that I have an accident that leaves me paralysed and then suddenly I can’t get the woman I love pregnant.” He choked and your heart broke for him “It’s obvious that I’m the problem.”

“Din… It’s not your fault.” You said softly, in the hope that it would bring him some semblance of comfort but it did little to calm the waters that were raging within him “These things take time… Mae was obviously a flook.”

“Or I’m infertile now.” He choked and your heart broke for him.

Of course, he blamed himself for this. Not you were hearing it, it seemed obvious that he’d been withdrawn because he was ashamed. Ashamed that he couldn’t get you pregnant.

“Perhaps it really is for the best that we stop trying for another.” You said after a few tense moments of silence, your eyes softening “It’s just hurting us both and Din… I don’t want to lose you again.”

“I don’t want to lose you either.”

“Then come back to me.”
