Saying Hi it’s been a while. Heya I’m Emi, I’ve been a practising Witch for over 16 years now (wow I feel old), everything I craft in my shop is instilled with my heritage (I’m of Russian, Chinese and Japanese descent), my knowledge and my Craft. I’m a Venus and Hekate devotee and this definitely influences my creations. When I started Unicorn Manor - there wasn’t any Witch shops in Australia let alone anywhere to get supplies when I was younger. I found the need to make these more accessible. The algorithm has been horrible and I would really love if you could leave a comment if you can see this any comments, likes and saves are so helpful in being seen.
If you’re just joining us, hello and welcome. I hope you love our page and store it’s been build with love, magick and so much perseverance.
I’m currently working through some custom ritual candles, but also excited to design some more cauldron candle designs and Tarot designs along with adding an apothecary filled with herbs (I have over 100+ herbs in my personal inventory), incense and spell kits! I feel forever blessed and filled with abundance and cannot wait to share some new creations soon ✨
This year has been hard for everyone but I hope that my magick and creations have brought some light, healing and positivity into the world. My name is Emi #artvsartist2021 and I’m the one woman witch behind Unicorn Manor ✨ 2022 will be our 7th year (wow) and honestly I wouldn’t be able to do what I do with you. So from the bottom of my heart thank you, I’m constantly filled with gratitude and love for the support, love and messages I get - the changes I can see, my ritual candles are imbued with my 17 years of the Craft, they are tools for you to channel and utilise and ultimately show you that your magick is within to access. Some of my favourite creations have been customised ritual candles, The Hermit (my cap stellium lives for this Earth candle), our Aphrodite and Baba Yaga cauldron candles. Hoping you all have a safe, abundant and happy new year ✨ • • • #unicornmanor #magick #crystal #crystalshop #crystallove #crystals #crystalhealing #witch #witchcraft #witchery #witchesofinstagram #witchlife #witchaesthetic #witchywoman #goddess #love #selflove #rosequartz #sacred #healingcrystals #selfcare #manifest #manifestation #sacredspace #newyear #meetthemaker #greenwitch #solitarywitch https://www.instagram.com/p/CYH235YhiDb/?utm_medium=tumblr
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 13: Work Clothes I definitely did my time in retail for over a decade where most of my wardrobe consisted of black & khaki…but now my work clothes really are me! I feel very blessed to be a stay-at-home mom where I can wear what I want and set my own schedule. It still has it’s challenges but I cannot complain! I Make String Pretty shirt from my maker apparel shop @shopcraftlove . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #workclothes #imakestringpretty #zazzlestyle #knittersofinstagram
#MarchMeetTheMaker Day 12: Postage & Packaging Pretty simple really! I love to wrap my packages with some left over yarn from my stash, and decorate with my shop stickers. The inside item is usually wrapped with tissue paper and closed with a sticker. Revamping my packaging is definitely on my list though! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #packaging #etsyshop #zazzlemade (at Fibreandfabrics)
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 11: Branding ➰ I really would like to revamp my logo someday, but for now, I keep it simple, and like it was when I first started my little craft blog / Etsy shop. My business cards, stamp and stickers all come from @Zazzle and I love the quality in all their items! That is a main reason why I choose them for my @shopcraftlove designs. . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #branding #zazzle #zazzlemade #etsyshop
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 8: Flatlay ➰ Today’s flatlay is brought to you by knitting and the color teal. It was fun to throw in my little pearler bead yarn ball & knitting needles creation that I made a few months ago at one of our fun family gatherings. I am excited to find time to dive into the Knitting Stitches book you see there, and maybe work on some pattern writing this Spring/Summer. I also need to finish those washcloths shown there! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #knittersofinstagram #flatlay #knitting #wips #hobbylobby #ilovethisyarn #knitpicksneedles (at Fibreandfabrics)
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 7: Routine I am a stay-at-home wife/mom so my day-to-day varies quite a bit, but it most definitely always starts with a nice cup of ☕ coffee! Most days I’m up before my girl wakes up (she loves sleep just like Mommy & Daddy!) so I like to spend time getting caught up on my Bible reading (or listening I should say) while I do dishes or laundry. I’m doing a One Year Bible plan and so far I’m loving it. After that I’m usually on my PC checking e-mail, social media, blog etc. until my little wakes up & we eat some breakfast together. Then we do some art/school activities. We are making our way through Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons, which is an AWESOME book to start out with! ➰ After lunch we usually have some screen time (or craft time for me!) and that’s always fun! I also enjoy some me time after dinner and family time when everyone goes to bed, where I throw on a Netflix show and work on a current WIP. ✔ Thanks for reading my routine! I hope it wasn’t too boring a read! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #knittersofinstagram #crochetersofinstagram #routine #momlife #makerlife #butfirstcoffee #homeschooling
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 6: Workspace ……………………………………………… Having today be the day to show your craftspace was great motivation to actually clean mine. I am thankful that our master bedroom is quite large and has 2 closets. One big one for our clothing, and this one shown, just for my yarn, fabric & sewing supplies! I picked up the table for free locally, and it’s working great so far! ➰ The table is the perfect spot for my ball winder & swift (by #stanwoodneedlecraft ) and especially for my Singer sewing machine that was my mom’s when she was a teenager. 〰 I love having my vintage yarn bowl there to admire that was dear gift (& awesome thirft shop find) from my hubby’s Grandma. Though I will say a lot of my yarn work gets done in my living room area where our TV is, or on a car ride when the hubby is driving, or at family gatherings when we’re all sitting around. I love that my hobby can be so mobile! It’s nice to have it with me or in the car wherever I go! Also pictured, my pearler bead yarn ball & knitting needles that I made a while ago. My knitting instructions pillow I designed from my shop @shopcraftlove . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #knittersofinstagram #crochetersofinstagram #workspace #craftroom #yarnstash
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 5: Photography ……………………………………….. When I have time I like to use our Canon 7D for photos of my completed craft projects and definitely for Etsy listings! I borrowed my sister-in-law’s remote and now I know I need one! It’s especially handy when shooting pictures of yourself when your photo-savvy husband is at work. I do my editing in Photoshop on my PC, or if I’m on my phone posting pictures, I usually edit in Instagram. You can swipe to see my goofy-self ready to take photos, and my main shooting locations in my house (basically the places I can get the most natural light.). Please mind my messy carpeted 90’s bathroom area. Someday it will get ripped out but we aren’t the best at tackling big projects. I wish there were so many more hours in the day! I look forward to seeing your photography posts! . . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #knittersofinstagram #crochetersofinstagram #photography #etsy #canon #canon7d
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 4: Favourite to Make ……………………………………… I must say my favorite things to make are hats & scarves! I knitted a few baby hats recently for a few of my friends with little ones and I did say to myself “Why don’t I make baby hats more often?!”. ➰It may be that I like that almost-instant gratification you get from completing those projects. :D Finishing things feels good! I don’t think I could ever have enough hats or scarves. I am a hat person by nature. I have always loved wearing hats, and own quite a few. I probably have more hats than shoes. I also love how a scarf can really accent your outfit. You need one in every color! Scarves are also some of my favorite projects for me to test out new stitch patterns. I have a few written patterns under my belt, and I hope to get better at it in the future. . . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #knittersofinstagram #crochetersofinstagram #favoritetomake #hats #scarves
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker ❓ Day 3: How You Started? ………………………………… ➰ My grandmother definitely planted the seed with my love for yarn, and knitting and crochet which is why it’s so near & dear to my heart! I wish I had pictures from when I first learned how to knit, but she taught me when I was about 10 years old. Photo 1: One of my first knitting projects, and the vintage bag my Grandma Jean gave me to keep it all in. (I’m so happy I still have it!). • It was later in 2009 that I began to pick up the knitting bug again, and then in 2010 on a trip to California to visit my family, my Mom & Grandma taught me to crochet. Photo 2: My Grandma Jean & I crocheting. In 2013 when I found out I was pregnant with our daughter, I really started to knit & crochet more often (thanks, nesting!). After she was born in 2014 that’s when I started my blog FibreandFabrics, along with my Etsy shop. Photo 3: My little in her knit baby cocoon I made for her. It’s been a fun journey ever since, and I’m always excited to learn more, and pick up new skills along the way. ♥ Thanks for reading a little about me! I look forward to reading your stories!! . . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #knittersofinstagram #crochetersofinstagram #howyoustarted
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 2: Where? I am happy to call my home the Pacific Northwest! My family moved to Albany, Oregon 3 years ago after living in Eugene for more than 10 years. We are blessed to live close to family, and we have grown even closer to them since moving back! As much as I complain about the amount of rain we get, I DO love living in Oregon, and getting to experience all the seasons so richly. Whether you want to visit the ocean, r the mountains, it’s all only a few hours away! (I kind of feel like I’m writing a Tripadvisor review now ). ☔ I’ll end with an Oregonian saying that everyone says, “If you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes.” P.S - Its pronounced “ore-gun” not “ore-E-gone”. I look forward to searching the other #MeetTheMaker posts this month and seeing where you all hail from! Photo 1: Mary’s Peak Photo 2: Nye Beach . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #pnw #oregon #maryspeak #nyebeach #newportoregon
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 28: Organized I do try my best to stay organized, especially with my craft items! Not to say that they don’t sometimes look like they’re exploded throughout the house, because that’s definitely true! (Thankfully I have an easy-going husband) ➰These shots are from within my craft closet in our master bedroom. Someday I hope to have an entire craft room (bucket list item for our next house!) but until then, I am quite thankful for this little creative space to call my own! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #materials #organized #craftcloset #fabricstash #buttons (at Fibreandfabrics)
Day 20: Tools & Materials Here is a bit of what I use to create over here! Not shown (because there was no good light on that side of the room) is my ball winder and swift, which I love to use and makes me able to feel more organized, and also my scale to weigh yarn, packaging, my cat….etc. , ➰ You can tap the photo to see where my tagged items came from! I’m super excited to use the comic book style fabrics shown there in a future Spring/Summer project! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #tools #materials #yarn #notions #MarchMeetTheMaker (at Fibreandfabrics)
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 18/19: Inspiration + Can’t Live Without I definitely can’t live with out my faith and my family! They fuel me to be a better person and are my everything. I also draw such great inspiration from stitch books like this one here, as well as from things I see in passing or something my little is wanting and asks me to make. Inspiration is truly everywhere…you just have to be looking through your creative lens! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #inspiration #cantlivewithout #creativity #knittingbook
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 17: Customers & Feedback I am excited to work on growing my customer base in the coming years, but today’s prompt really warmed my heart as I looked at the reviews and feedback from things I have made for others. Not a lot can beat the feeling of knowing that you’ve made someone else happy and satisfied with something you created, worked hard on, and put your heart into. It’s a wonderful feeling for all us makers out there, and it sure does fuel our desire to keep on making! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #feedback #customers #makerlife #makersgonnamake #thankful (at Fibreandfabrics)
It’s #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 16: Helper I just adore my little helper! She’s my inspiration for many of the projects I do, and often times my little model. She encourages me daily to be a better human being. I’m so thankful for her! . . . . . . #fibreandfabrics #meetthemaker #mamaslittlehelper #momboss (at Fibreandfabrics)
"Par où la Terre finit" Analogue photographs taken many moons ago by my dear @helenaaguilarmayans They were shot inside one of the many dormant volcanoes of her beautiful area.
I am wearing my beloved Sol Seidr talisman, a Lunar Oracle amulet and an Apsàalooke talisman (past collection).
