Most of my favourite characters have the title of ‘hunter’.. so I made this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I love all three of these guys..

Something different for a change and also to remind you that I have not totally abandoned tribute-focused-artworks ;)
I just had these artist grants and creating „Luna & Nova“ demanded a lot of my personal time this year.

Now about this new piece: I Managed to finalize this painting of the mystic from the Dark Crystal that I had started earlier this year. It is based on a landscape-painting of Christ by Ivan Kramskoi from 1872. I think it is fun to compare these two images side-by-side so feel free to swipe for it ^.^

I nearly overlooked this great composition because it is simply centered but it focused on elliptic enclosures, for example: the floating stones in the foreground underline a good starting point for the outer elliptic enclosure. My version just added to it and changed the shape of the elliptic enclosures instead of circles in the original that goes around the figure.

Actually the mystic and Christ have a lot in common and I found it fitting to go with that direction, without being too much cliché. At least I hope so ;)
Thinking about this further, it would make totally sense to do a painting of SkekMal the Hunter, UrVa’s counterpart… hmm

SkekSil, jumps: H-How long has Hunter been standing in shadows?
SkekMal: My entire life.
SkekMal and urVa: [physically fighting each other]
SkekGra: This isn’t what I meant by “express your feelings and achieve unity”!
[SkekMal jumps down from the ceiling of the Circle of the Suns and looks around]
SkekMal: Is Rian here?
SkekGra: Uhh, you know what-
[Rian throws himself out of a window]
SkekGra: -He just left.
SkekMal: …Really?
SkekGra: Yeah…
[Rian grabs his shawl from through the window]
SkekGra: …Really.
I was today years old when I realized skekMal’s face was probably inspired by bearded vultures/lammergeiers.
I dunno, the resemblance is pretty strong.
UrVa: I’ve never seen you eat a salad.
SkekMal: That’s because I don’t hate myself, Archer.
[As skekMal lunges at Rian, urVa shoots an arrow at his shoulder and stops him]
UrGoh: The Archer! Wow, that was… amazing! Perfect… aim!
UrVa: What are you talking about?
UrVa,aiming another arrow at skekMal’s head: I missed.

School just started a couple days ago, and getting back to in-person classes after a year of being remote stressfull as HELL.
So here are some modern au/high school au skeksis that I drew during a homework break!
I had a whole lot of fun drawing these guys, especially Ekt, Mal and Sa. I couldn’t add as much detail as I wanted since these were just head shots, but I did what I could lol. So obviously Skekso would be the principal, and skeksil would be the Vice Principal, and skektek is the science teacher. I tried to make Skekmal look athletic, threatening but still look like a Hall monitor??? (Ex-Hall monitor I mean).
I definelty had the most fun drawing Skekekt, they have such a flamboyant design an personality and I tried my best to make them look feminine while having some masculinity as well but I think it kinda backfired. I really love Skeksa, she’s one of my fav skeksis and aside from Skekekt I feel like I gave her the best design. I really love how the blue hair turned out. SkEkGrA i’M sO sOrRy!!!! I just kinda got lost on what to do with him so I settled with what I drew and I’m not that proud of it. Idk it might just be me…
Does anyone else think the Hunter is really fucking thicc? Like even Mother Aughra agrees
Morsel, a gelfling raised by a stonewood female gelfling and skekMal who had claimed her his mate. Morsel, being of mixed clan, was abandoned by his Dousan mother because of pressures from her clan members. His real father is unknown. Instead of eating him, skekMal figured his mate would want a child of her own. He calls him Morsel as he regularly threatened to devour him for being an annoying brat.
Morsel is a slim n trim fellow with odd habits. His skeksis stepfather raised him to be a skilled hunter with a harsh edge. Despite this he wants to woo the gelfling babes he comes into contact with but most of them are xenophobic and find his habits too weird for their tastes.
