Imagine an AU where Derek is a classically trained pianist. His entire family are classically trainer mucisicans and are renowned for their talents. Talia is known for playing the harp, Cora recently finished her violin exams, Laura plays the cello and piano, and Derek and his father both play piano.

Derek is brilliant, but he hates it. Every soirée or concert they go to, he is always in his sister’s shadow or his father’s, forced to listen to bougie strangers talk about how much better they are than Derek and how they can play a song perfectly while Derek will play and E instead of an F—but Derek would play an E because it sounded better.

The rest of his family are blind to Derek’s pain, and Derek stops playing. He moves out and gets a job in a small cafe, where no one knows him or his family. Then one day, he meets Stiles, a young college student studying criminal law who comes into the coffee shop every day and knows nothing about music.

One day, Stiles doesn’t come. Derek is cleaning up and shutting shop on his own when he decides to stop and play the piano in the corner of the cafe. He’s so engrossed in the song - one he wrote himself - that he doesn’t realise someone has come into the shop.

Stiles is staring at him with in awe. Derek quickly gets up from the piano, makes Stiles usual order and gives it to him without a word. Finally, Stiles shakes himself out of his daze and starts telling Derek how incredible he is.

The next day, Stiles shows up at closing time. Derek makes him his order and Stiles hangs around, waiting. Derek tells him he’s not going to play the piano and when Stiles asks why, Derek tell him: he tells him about his family, about growing up with the expectation of playing music, about having to be the best, about never being perfect. He admits that the song he played yesterday was one he wrote and it was the first time he’d played in a long time. Stiles asks him to play it again, and Derek can’t say no.

So Stiles comes in every day at closing time to hear Derek play. He doesn’t care if it’s a classical piece, a cover of a recent song, his own piece, or ‘hot cross buns’, he just sits and listens, absolutely captivated by Derek. He doesn’t know anything about music, but he loves hearing Derek play.

I saw this post and now all I can think about is young Derek being nonverbal and he hides peoples shoes when he likes them so they stick around longer–the more he likes you, the harder they are to find. Laura understands this and finds it funny to watch, especially when Derek practically shoves Peters shoes into his hands and Peter always thanks him for being so helpful (when really he’s telling him to f off).

One day, Sheriff Stilinski comes over with his kid and Derek hides Stiles’ shoes. They eventually have to leave without them because they’re hidden so well and it’s years before they find them.

I couldn’t resist the angst so here we go… (Brace yourselves)

All of his family’s shoes were burnt up in the fire. He tries searching all the places he hid them but they’re all gone, and he’s left with nothing to remember them by and no way to keep them around.

Or, imagine one pair survives. A tiny pair of white sandals with little butterflies on them that once belonged to Laura. Talia gave up trying to get Cora to wear them because she’d either tear the shoes off and run around with bare feet or she’d try to rip the decorative butterflies off. So Talia stored them away in a corner of the basement, the one corner that was untouched by the fire.

Years later, Derek adopts a little girl and gives her the shoes, watching the way his little girl’s face lights up when she looks at the pretty butterflies and realising that his little girl has Laura’s smile.

Imagine an AU where Derek found a box of kittens abandoned on the edge of his property and the reserve. They’re in bad condition–freezing cold, starving, and barely have the energy to lift their heads or mew–so he takes them home and calls Deaton. Despite his best efforts, only one of the kittens survives.

Derek has never had cats before but he refuses to give this one up for adoption. He can’t help but fall in love with them, especially when the tiny kitten tries to climb up Derek’s leg while he’s getting their dinner ready.

When they’re a little bigger, the cat learns to sit on his shoulder and just chills there as Derek walks around.

They get really excited when Stiles or Cora come to visit and will sit in the window chirping and meowing until they walk through the door and then will run to them for pets.

Chapter 9 ofUnforgettable- Sterek Never Fade AU - is now up on AO3.

There was a rush of air; a cascading wall of swirling white noise that hit him hard enough to jolt him awake. His eyes flew open as he gasped for air, groaning and squinting as the light of day made his head ache.

The ground below him shook slightly with a low rumble, a quiet rattling echoing in his head as feeling slowly returned to his body.

Everything hurt.

He tried to swallow, tasting only the bitter metallic taste of his blood. He tried to move his jaw, feeling the resistance of the piece of cloth that was tied around his face, gagging him.

He tried to move his hands to shield his eyes, but the rough frayed edges of coarse rope dug into his wrists. He strained as he turned his head and looked over his shoulder slightly; his hands were tied behind his back.

Shit, shit, shit, he thought, feeling the panic flood his veins.

He squeezed his eyes shut, plunging himself into darkness and steadying himself. Whether he liked it or not, he was in this situation; panicking wasn’t going to help him.

Accept. Adapt. Act.

That’s what Deucalion had taught him during training.

His shoulders aches as he tried to adjust his position and look around. He was in the back of a van, the only light coming through the metal grate that separated the back of the car from where the driver and the passenger seat, dressed in black.

PSFs.

Kidnapper: You are going to call someone - your parents, your friends, your partner, whatever - and you’re going to get them to pay $50,000 or you’re not coming back, got it?

Stiles, in the back seat eating Doritos: Sure. *calls Derek* Hey, I’ve been kidnapped and this guy wants fifty thousand dollars or he’s going to kill me.

Stiles, to the kidnapper: Are you sure you don’t want a hundred thousand? Fifty seems kind of low.

Stiles, to Derek over the phone: Make it a hundred thousand. Okay, see you soon. Love you. Bye. *hangs up*

Kidnapper: Wait, that’s it? He’s going to bring a hundred thousand dollars?

Stiles: Not exactly. You’re going to get a hundred thousand dollars, it’s just going to be in the form of medical bills.

Chapter 7 ofUnforgettable- Sterek Never Fade AU - is now up on AO3.

Two weeks passed before he found the red folder in his locker, balanced atop the small stack of books.

The locker room was filled with speculations, voices bleeding into one another until it was nothing more than noise.

He pulled the folder out, ignoring the way his hands shook as he opened it and began to read the bold black letters printed on the page.

               OP ID: 349022-A

               TOD: 15 Dec 13:00

               Location: Boston, MA

Stiles thought for a moment, trying to remember what states still had buses or train lines running and how he could get from Massachusetts to North Carolina.

He read on.

Objective: Pull Dr. David Geyer, Director of Administration, Department of Genetics and Complex Diseases Harvard School of Public Health; disable lab.

Stiles felt his stomach clench. ‘Pull’ meant he’d have to interrogate him once they reached the League’s safehouse, or – if he proved uncooperative – tear the information from his memories. And ‘disable’ meant destroy, demolish, burn; a job for the tactical team.

               Tact Team: Beta Group

Great, Stiles thought, the voice in his head dripping with sarcasm. Beta Group was Rafe’s team.

               Psi: Tangerine, Sunshine

               Minder: TBD

“No,” he muttered under his breath as numbness spread through his body, leaving him paralysed.

Their code names were based around their Psi colour. Stiles was Orange, so he got stuck with the code name Tangerine.

Sunshine, however, was Mason.

I don’t know how to put this into words but I really want grown up Stiles and Derek to have the kind of relationship that Buck and Eddie do in 9-1-1. Derek’s a single dad who is a loving and protective father. Maybe he and Stiles work together or maybe they just know each other, but they know that the other has their back no matter what, and there’s no one in the world Derek would trust more with his kid than Stiles.

If Stiles is having a bad day, Derek invites him over to play video games or watch Star Wars with his kid or gets Stiles to take him to the pier.

When Derek wakes up to find his kid missing, Stiles is he first person he calls, and most of the time Derek doesn’t even get to finish the sentence before Stiles lets him know his kid is with him.

Derek’s kid is sick? Broke an arm and ended up in hospital? Stiles is there for him. The hospital staff think he’s the kid’s dad.

All it takes is one phone call from the kid saying something’s wrong with Derek and Stiles is there in a heartbeat.

Imagine a time travel AU where Stiles ends up back in time and is able to save the Hale’s from the house fire, stops Deucalion from taking Cora, save Malia and her adoptive family from Corrine, and even save Isaac and Camden from their father. But the one person he can’t save is his mother.

He watches from a distance as his younger self and Scott come to visit Claudia, supervised by Melissa. He’s so caught up in the moment that he doesn’t realise his mother comes to sit beside him. She starts talking to him saying things like, “You have to enjoy the moments of calm before the storm.” She tells him that she wishes she could tell her son how much she loves him, how proud she is of him. She turns to look at Stiles and says “of you.”

Stiles panics, trying to think up an excuse but Claudia tells him a mother always knows her son. “I love you. I always loved you. You know that, right?” she asks.

“Yeah,” Stiles says, unable to hold back his tears. “I love you too.”

Imagine Derek is a clean freak. He likes things done a certain way and he insists on cleaning because he doesn’t want Stiles to feel unappreciated or not good enough because Derek can be very detail orientated. He also knows that Stiles isn’t the best at cooking, so he does that too.

One day he comes home exhausted and Stiles takes it upon himself to cook and clean. What Derek doesn’t realise is that Stiles has been watching him the whole time and learning the way Derek likes things done and what details he should make sure he doesn’t miss. He’s also been getting lessons from Lydia and online classes on how to cook.

Derek is absolutely shook.

Sterek sort of Black Widow AU where Derek (Natasha) and Stiles (Yelena) were both orphaned and taken in to be raised as assassins and spies. They were separated when they were very young and didn’t see each other for years–Derek escaped the Red Room years ago and became a hero.

He was certain he had destroyed the Red Room but found out years later that the Red Room still exists and Stiles only recently managed to escape.

When they reunite, they find themselves entangled in a mess that only they can put an end to.

Stiles still holds a grudge, thinking Derek left him behind and forgot about him, but Derek kept looking for him. But old habits die hard, and Stiles can’t resist the chance to roast the shit out of Derek.

latenightsdaydreamsblog:

Before Stiles, Derek shaved every morning just enough to look neat but definitely not trying hard enough to be clean-shaven. He got no time for that.

After Stiles, Derek rarely shaved. He loved the way Stiles ran his fingers through his beard and he definitely loved the way his beard left mark on Stiles’ skin everytime he kissed him or ate him out–the redness was pretty and Stiles loved it anyway.

But, he also loved how Stiles finally relented and volunteered to shave his beard for him. He loved sitting down with Stiles standing between his legs as he looked up at him and let Stiles spreading the shave cream all over his chin and cheek. He let Stiles handled the shaver with one hand while the other hand was on the back of his head, cradling his skull gently as he moved Derek however he wanted. Stiles might be clumsy, but he never nicked Derek–not even once. He treated Derek like he was so precious, and Derek knew he could trust him.
