VANS HOUSE PARTIES | TAKING BACK SUNDAY
Taking Back Sunday has been at the forefront of the alternative/emo uprising since the late 90s. Getting started in Long Island, New York as adolescents, they turned to music to work out their angst and heartache. After a few lineup changes, TBS released their debut album in 2002, Tell All Your Friends. The record immediately connected with teenagers working through the same anxieties.
In the following ten years, Taking Back Sunday established themselves as a band with a lot to say while growing and evolving. In 2010 it was announced the original TAYF lineup would reunite to record their fifth studio album titled, Taking Back Sunday. In 2016 TBS signed with indie label Hopeless Records to release Happiness Is… and in 2016 Tidal Wave. Taking Back Sunday is currently celebrating their 20th-anniversary playing shows across the US shows.

Continue growth since original lineup reunion. Happiness Is one of favorites of year it came out. Album much continuing on current style. Love punk rock feel of Death Wolf, Tidal Wave, and others. Still true emo style in songs like We Don’t Go In There. Much long term loving dynamic between Nolan and Lazzara. Maybe not as fully consistent as last album, but very strong album. 3 ½ paws up.
