It’s no secret I’m a huge anime fan. I grew up on Toonami and Adult Swim, and thanks to my boyfriend and friends, have recently rediscovered my love of all things Japanimation. So I was unbelievably stoked when thesurveycorpsdancecrew approached me to shoot a new AU Attack on Titan cosplay concept for them, inspired by the pun of “The Survey Corporate.” Not to mention the nice little reunion from getting to shoot some people from The Prototypesagain.
Basically, my weekend consisted of anime + dance + photography + general shenanigans and insanity. Yes, I absolutely love my job. :P

You don’t know how happy I am to have my braids . I’ve always wanted box braids since I was little. I use to get made fun of by my Hispanic peers for having “black hair” and made fun of by my Black peers for having “good hair”. Being mixed I never felt like I fit into either group so I didn’t want to give anyone any ammunition to ostracize. Well forget all those people that made me feel like I wasn’t allowed to embrace either of my cultures. I don’t care what anyone has to say about me. This outfit was so much fun to shoot and I absolutely love the outcome. I paired this thrifted button up blouse with my favorite cobalt blue plaid pants from Free People to keep the look light and then added black accessories, a dog shaped purse, chunky Fila sneakers, and a tube top, to make it more of a grungy feel.
