There is something very unique about living with a parrot. A dog may see you as his master and a horse may see you as her leader - but a parrot sees you as a family member. They eat when you eat, sleep when you sleep, they will groom you and feed you if you let them, and they seek out your company, rather than just your attention. I’m not saying this makes them better than any other kind of “pet” (I really do love them all) but it does make them truly special. I’ve never had an animal be quite so much a part of my life as a bird.
