March is National Crochet Month. For 18 years, CGOA has led events to celebrate March as National Crochet Month. The goal is to promote the art of crochet and engage enthusiasts and master crocheters alike.
Today I’m working on a kitty sofa! When complete it’ll look like the mini version of a round sofa and I can’t wait to see the result

Cat Pattern:
Use G hook and worsted weight yarn.
Head
Row 1: 6 sc in MR
Row 2: 2sc in each st (12 st)
Row 3: 1sc, 2sc in same st, repeat (18st)
Rows 4-9: Sc around (18 st)
Row 10: 1 sc, decrease, repeat (12st)
Stuff head with poly fill.
Row 11: Decrease 6 times (6 st)
Fasten off and sew closed. Turn sideways, sew on black beads for eyes and using black sportweight yarn, embroider nose and mouth.
Ears
In MR, 2 sc, chain 2, make picot by doing a slip stitch into the first of the two chains, and then two more sc in the ring. Tighten ring, fasten off, and leave a tail long enough to sew to head.
Paws
6 sc in magic ring.
Row 1: Sc in each stitch (6 st)
Rows 2-4: Repeat Row 1 (6 st)
Fasten off and leave tail to sew onto stocking.
Assembly
Sew paws to top edge of stocking. Sew ears to top of head. Stuff stocking with poly fill and sew head over top of stocking. Add ribbon for a bow, if you’d like :)

Remember that bit of Russian translating I was attempting? Well here she is! Coming in at a whopping 24x28 this cablework is massive. I took a chance and made some alterations to my “translation” and I think it worked out ok. After a final positioning and setting in the frame she will be ready to go.
