War, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

By Adilah Didi Adi | @AdilahDidiAdi | April 15, 2022

War against Black communities, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing!

Womanist Elder, Alice Walker, has constantly reminded us “why [white supremacist] war is never a good idea” and we should listen to our Womanist and Black Feminist Elders.

The united states government and all white western colonial capitalist governments have no legitimacy to declare war on Ferguson, Flint, Detroit, Port-au-Prince, Havana, Bamako, Lekki, Mogadishu, Johannesburg, Standing Rock, Gaza, or anywhere for that matter.

These white state and corporate officials are genocidal. They are slavocratic and sociopathic. These white politricksters and agents of white politricks are morally bankrupt and have no moral authority to hold anyone accountable.

Any civilian who legitimizes white supremacy, white supremacists, agents of white supremacy, and white supremacist violence against any civilians, does so at their own peril. When white terrorism disposes of us today, white terrorism will dispose of you tomorrow.

And that is why I say no power to the state or corporate and all power to the people!

Ukrainian communist journalist: ‘This war started eight years ago’

The war between Russia and Ukraine began long before February 24, 2022—the date provided by the Ukrainian government, NATO, and the United States for the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. According to Dmitry Kovalevich, a journalist and a member of a now-banned communist organization in Ukraine, the war actually started in the spring of 2014 and has never stopped since.

Wars are among the most difficult of reporting assignments for a journalist. These days, especially, with the torrent of social media and the belligerence of network news television channels, matters on the ground are hard to sort out. Just establishing what the basic facts about the events taking place during a war are is hard enough, let alone ensuring the correct interpretation of these facts.

Videos of apparent war atrocities that can be found on social media platforms like YouTube are impossible to verify. Often, it becomes clear that much of the content relating to war that can be found on these platforms has either been misidentified or is from other conflicts. Even the BBC, which has taken a very strong pro-Ukrainian and NATO position on this conflict, had to run a story about how so many of the viral claims about Russian atrocities are false.

Among these false claims, which have garnered widespread circulation, is a video circulating on TikTok that wrongly alleges to be that of a “Ukrainian girl confronting a Russian soldier,” but is instead a video of the then-11-year-old Palestinian Ahed Tamimi confronting an Israeli soldier in 2012; the video continues to circulate on TikTok with the caption, “Little [girls] stand up to Russian soldiers.”

The families losing their loved ones to hunger suicide in Afghanistan

People are dying by suicide across Afghanistan because of starvation, as the US has frozen the Afghan Central Bank’s assets and the IMF suspended access to funds after the Taliban takeover. The World Bank had also halted funding for the country—though it has now approved a package of $1 billion to address the population’s urgent needs. More than half the population, around 23m Afghans, are suffering from hunger. Millions of dollars in lost income after the collapse of the government, soaring food prices, a liquidity crisis, and shortages of cash have deprived much of the population of access to food, water, shelter, and health care.

A Proposed Solution to the Ukraine War:

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, what was a regional conflict has become a global hybrid war with ever-greater stakes, not least the risk of nuclear war.

Perhaps the greatest danger lies in the difference of motives between parties, which is also the fundamental cause of this war: Russia seeks security, while the U.S. and its NATO allies have been using Ukraine to deny that security — to “break Russia,” in Henry Kissinger’s 2015 phrase. The U.S. does not want peace, unless it be the peace of a conquered Russia. That is why there is no obvious end to the escalations and counter-escalations. The U.S. and NATO see opportunity in the war they have been trying so hard to provoke.

The tragedy is that few people seem to understand that at the root of the Ukraine crisis is a specific strategy known as the Wolfowitz Doctrine, named after Paul Wolfowitz who, as under secretary of defense in the administration of George H. W. Bush, was one of the authors of a 1992 document that laid out a neo-conservative manifesto aimed at ensuring American dominance of world affairs following the collapse of the Soviet Union. -Writer: Greg Mello (Los Alamos Study Group)

What is the Los Alamos Study Group?

One of the most respected and best informed anti-nuclear war groups in the world is the Los Alamos Study Group. Founded at the end of the Cold War in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where the first nuclear bombs were designed and built, the LASG’s aim of taking nuclear weapons out of foreign policy. It has won landmark environmental, civil rights and freedom of information lawsuits in the U.S., provided hundreds of top-level briefings, and played a crucial role in preventing the production of the core elements of plutonium warheads. As nuclear war threatens over Ukraine, the LASG has released this remarkable and urgent analysis of the risks and the solutions. "— John Pilger.

The outbreak of war between Russia and Ukraine did not come out of nowhere. Here are the key historical events that produced the crisis, and the declassified documents showing that the U.S. gov’t knew it was playing with fire over the last 30 years.

of NATO’s broken promises

The Clinton administration made many behind-the-scenes promises to Boris Yeltsin, and their deceptions eventually came to a head at their Budapest meeting in 1994.

Declassified documents revealed this misdirection.

Despite the promises to Russia that NATO would not expand, in 1999 Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic joined NATO.

During this period, NATO demonstrated its offensive rather than defensive character with multiple bombings of Yugoslavia.

U.S. & NATO continue their regime change efforts. Two notable examples of this are NATO’s involvement in Afghanistan which resulted in a 20 yr occupation with hundreds of thousands dead.

NATO’s bombing of Libya (serving as the air force for the rebels) collapses the gov’t.

After a decade of deception, Putin comes to power promising to overcome Russia’s humiliations. He makes clear that NATO expansion to Ukraine is a red line

In 2014 the era of Ukrainian neutrality comes to an end with the overthrow of President Victor Yanukovych. This coup was supported and funded by the U.S. and succeeds when far-right paramilitaries storm the presidential palace.

While western powers continue to stoke escalation and war, a diplomatic road out of the current crisis is still possible. Will the U.S. & NATO step back from the brink and negotiate with Russia?

Looking back on it today, the famous U.S. assurance to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev of “Not one inch eastward” rings hollow.

Since the fall of the Soviet Union, NATO has added 13 countries… and counting.

the-penandpaper:

“There is evidence to suggest that as early as August 2001 {before the invasion} Washington, contrary to the Geneva Convention, intentionally used sanctions against Iraq to degrade the nation’s water supply. This had a devastating impact on Iraqi children particularly. This was done through hampering the importation of specialized equipment and some chemicals to purify its water supply, most of which is heavily mineralized and frequently brackish to saline. Ultimately, the United Nations concluded that as a result of these sanctions alone, some 500,000 Iraqi children perished.”

the-penandpaper:

“The Southern Poverty Law Center, which has specialized in investigations of the racist right, has detected a disturbing trend that has infested the military. Aryan Nation graffiti has been seen in Baghdad–the latest bit of evidence suggesting that just as left wing cadre often take root in factories, ultra right cadre have come to find the US military quite congenial. In 1996 following a decade long rash of cases where extremists in the military were caught diverting huge arsenals of stolen firearms and explosives to neo-Nazi and white supremacist organizations, conducting guerilla training for paramilitary racist militias, and murdering “non white” civilians, the Pentagon finally acted. One general ordered all 19,000 soldiers at Fort Lewis, Washington strip-searched in an attempt to find extremist tattoos. Now, it seems that with the decline in recruitment–or, perhaps, for other reasons–the Pentagon is turning a blind eye to the influx of neo nazis into their ranks.”

The war will end, and leaders will shake hands, and the old lady will still wait for her martyred son, and that woman will wait for her beloved husband, and those children will wait for their heroic father. I don’t know who sold our homeland, but I have seen who paid the price.

just making it dead clear that this blog does not support russia’s invasion of ukraine, however also fuck off with that shit if you are demonising regular russian civilians who have nothing to do with this and didnt want a war just as much as everyone else did. politicians are not an excuse for your xenophobia.

Western media WILL use this to push a broad anti-slavic rhetoric much like during the cold war. Watch out for attempts to enforce bigotry.
