Do you guys think that the reason so many grown dudebros men love Tim and hate Damian so much is that, in their mind, if they self-insert themselves into Batman then Tim as a sidekick will stroke their ego and let them boss him around which in return will make them look better, while Damian as a sidekick on the other hand will most likely stomp on their little ego and put them in their place, so therefore their insecurity makes them hate Damian, because they know that in real-life Damian is gonna whip them and make them his sidekick
No idea, but I just love the dudebros who idolize Bruce, but hate Damian because “he’s an immature, arrogant and violent asshole and Bruce deserves a better son than that!”
…as if Bruce wasn’t all of those things too. Damian is exactly the kid Bruce deserves.
One of the biggest differences between Bruce and Damian is how they get treated for their bad behaviour by writers, not their actions. Damian gets punished for it most of the time while the narrative bends over backwards to justify Bruce’s behaviour.
It is with a sense of pensiveness that I can state that I will probably never cease to be astounded by the degree of complacent liberal naivety — or whether it is in fact perfidity that it has always been about.
It’s pivotal that Luke doesn’t have patience. He doesn’t want to finish his training. He’s being succumbed by his emotional feelings for his friends rather than the pratical feelings of “I’ve got to get this job done before I can actually save them. I can’t save them, really.” But he sort of takes the easy route, the arrogant route, the emotional but least practical route, which is to say, “I’m just going to go off and do this without thinking too much.” And the result is that he fails and doesn’t do well for Han Solo or himself.
It’s the motif that needs to be in the picture, but it’s one of those things that just in terms of storytelling was very risky because basically he screws up, and everything turns bad. And it’s because of that decision that Luke made on [Dagobah] to say “I know I’m not ready, but I’m going to go anyway.”
