Me: Imma just do some quick sketches to figure out this pose.
Also me: How about we turn every sketch into an actual piece? :D
In other words, I have played myself once again. So now we have XiCheng, NieYao, Xuanli (The Untamed) and QingYa (Yin Yang Master) all waiting to be worked on. Whoops?

First time I drew Nie Mingjue without his mustache as I got requested to do. He looks a bit funny to me. XD

A redraw challenge! First pic is the newer one (2018) and the second is the original (2011). Both were done in the same art program! Characters are mostly the same, save for the middle one (2011 features an oc belonging to a former friend, and the 2018 features my own oc in their place). I think it’s a good amount of improvement for 7 years.

Hey folks, sorry for the long absence from tmblr but I AM ALIVE!!! I’ve been posting most of my stuff on Twitter lately but I’ll start getting some of it on here too.
So this here is a study I did on exaggerated expressions and body language. I decided to practice on Yagi bc he’s pretty. I’m sure he doesn’t mind
Here’s close-ups of all six, they turned out really well so I want to show them off hehehe
And, last but not least, some progress shots!!!
Lmao I think my thought process went something along the lines of:
-Okay lemme just do some practice, that’ll help keep my energy up!!
-Wow these Yagis are turning out great, look at his little face I love him
-Oh no art block
-Okay but also….. these sketches are really good, I should finish these instead of leaving them hanging, they’d look nice with real lineart
-*spends ages doing nice lineart bc it’s the only thing I CAN do when I’m art-constipated*
-Gorgeous, perfect, phenomenal, best Yagis ever, I’m gonna shove these in everyone’s face and post like 80 million progress shots of it so everyone can see His beauty
-Oh no I’ve spend 10 hrs on this

People were doing this trend with “how my art changed” at the begging of the year but i was very busy so yeah. April goes brrrr.
I looked through my sm and I decided to just took fanarts of Naegi and see how much they changed and actually they did! ✨✨ Im kinda happy how it looks now Still need practice and there is A LOT things im still not good at but i have hard time recently so seeing this little progress is feeling my heart with joy (and yeah two piece are from same year, but i drew them few months apart so it counts as progress)
My 2019 art summary! I’ve never been able to complete one of these before because i’d always take massive breaks and i’m really glad i’ve finally been able to do one!
August is blurred because it’s part of a collaboration that isn’t finished yet and I did nothing else that month but we’ll ignore that

2006-2022 Art Progress
its been encouraging to see all the others that did this. Progress isn’t overnight.
Jumped on the meme wagon because I don’t think I’ve ever made one of these progress / years in review things.
Tried to include all the years, including the years that I plateaued or regressed, because progress isn’t always a steady climb. Also, as a result of trying to squeeze every year in, it’s a bit off the beat at the end. But I fit them in so I’m happy with that.
I started taking digital painting seriously around this time in 2017. I haven’t drawn much last year but hope to get back at commissions soon. Tbh I don’t feel comfortable enough yet. It took times and energy to try to draw for someone else but I will come back I will!! (T^T)

Progress I’ve made for the last 19 years! I usually redraw this every time I move :’) I’ve finally bought an art tablet a few years ago so I can do this one in color for the first time ^ ^
The first one is quite heavily traced (with my OC replacing Will), but I tried to change it up a bit with every next one (but keep it recognizable at the same time)

Another Work In Progress… logging over 17 hours thus far, hah. I’m really bad at bright midday colors— they aren’t my taste. So I’ll keep fiddling with stuff until I’m happy. Slowly working on the background. It probably won’t be The Best Background Ever, but I’m gonna put a full effort into it, brick by brick (even the parts you don’t see behind them). Wish me luck….?

One thing leads to another
About a year ago, I was bored sketching while sitting in a car. That ugly sketch sparked inspiration. I now have made over 100 of art pieces in the style and sell many as keychains!

Six years ago today I started drawing, and the first character I drew was Blue Sargent from The Raven Cycle. I feel like I didn’t progress as much this year, but I got settled into my style, which is good too.

Sometimes, when it seems to me that I’m not moving anywhere in my creative progress, I start looking at my old works, which are 3-4 years old, and then I calm down ‘cause “well, nope, it used to be much worse” :D
Well, all this progress makes me very proud and happy. And this is exactly what I need when I have an art-block and it seems to me that I’m not doing enough work (when I just can’t force myself to draw something) or not good enough. But this is always enough to move on and get better~

2013->2022
I’ve been wanting to go through some of my old art to do like a redo and this one was one I really wanted to reattempt at some point. Lol poor Colin’s face. I was still getting used to using a tablet and also just didn’t have the skills to do face well so… lol
But I feel like I was able to do him a little more justice in my reattempt.
Progression of my latest painting. I still need to photograph it with my camera but it will be on my website soon!
