I remember my first mobile telephone, which was more like an offensive weapon than a transitional object, an effective brick to break a skull with. It was prestigious to own one, however, for in those far-off days that now seem to us to be of a totally different historical epoch, they were comparatively uncommon, and anyone who had one could consider himself to be at the very cutting edge in the use of technology.
I despise myself for having become so quickly dependent on my phone. The reason for this is snobbery. When I see how dependent others are on their phones, how for example they look at them even during supposedly convivial meals (in the days when there were convivial meals still), I think how foolish and degraded they are, and how little I want to be like them.
A sensible person does not have to be permanently contactable, and indeed, when I look back, some of my happiest times have been the months in which I was totally incommunicado. My recent dependence on my phone, however, has revealed to me that I am exactly like others in my folly, no worse but no better. I am humbled, if not humiliated, by my phone.

Not really feeling it today… Started off with a drawing of Notorious B.I.G., but that went rapidly south and into the shredder pile. Will have to finish this little 'POP’ piece tomorrow as the black ink isn’t properly dry yet, and smudges more than a dog on laxatives with an itchy bum.

O ser humano está obsoleto e foi substituído por robôs. “Nem Todo Robô” mostra um mundo onde a Inteligência Artificial decidiu que a humanidade deve ser protegida dela mesma e assumiu o controle da sociedade. Cada família passou a ter um Domestibot que faz o papel de provedor da família: quem trabalha e sustenta a casa é ele.
Isso poderia parecer uma utopia, mas problemas sociais ainda existem. Os Domestibot guardam ressentimentos por ter que trabalhar e sustentar humanos que se sentem inferiores nesta nova sociedade. Um terreno fértil para conflitos.
Com roteiros de Mark Russel, “Nem Todo Robô” faz um exercício de imaginação colocando a toxidade masculina do outro lado da situação. Homens dependentes e assustados com conviver com Robôs rancorosos. @manruss teve a ideia da história quando surgiu o movimento MeToo, um movimento feminino que chamou a atenção do abuso sofrido nas mãos de homens no poder.
Mike Deodato mostra mais uma vez que seu talento vai muito além das cenas de ação e luta. A arte que @mikedeodato faz na HQ expõe o drama e a tensão das cenas. A qualidade e a variedade que encontramos nos robôs é surpreendente, inclusive mostrando a emoção do robô no momento. Deodato ainda presentea o leitor com easter eggs ao desenhar alguns dos personagens.
