Wer hätte das gedacht? Astrid Lindgrens Held »Michel aus Lönneberga« heißt nur bei uns in Deutschland »Michel«. Sowohl im schwedischen Original als auch in jeder anderen übersetzten oder synchronisierten Version heißt der blonde Junge »Emil«.
Wie kam es dazu? – Schuld ist Erich Kästners Held Emil Tischbein aus »Emil und die Detektive« von 1929. Um Verwechslungen zu vermeiden entschied man sich bei den Übersetzungen den schwedischen Emil einfach in Michel umzubenennen. Dabei scheinen die Verantwortlichen jedoch keinen besonderen Wert auf die Herkunft des Jungen genommen zu haben. »Michel« ist kein typisch schwedischer Name, im Gegenteil. Das »ch« in »Michel« dürfte einigen Schweden ziemliche Probleme bei der Aussprache bereiten. Das schwedische Pendant von »Michel« wäre »Mike« oder »Mikael«.
In Schweden ist Michel bzw. Emil und Pippi auch nach 50 Jahren bei Jung und Alt beliebt. Bei Schulfeiern, Midsommar und jährlich auch im Fernsehen bei »Allsång på Skansen« wird sentimental Idas Sommerlied (Sommarvisa) zusammen gesungen.
Also denkt zukünftig daran, wenn ihr euch mit Schweden über die Helden aus den Lindgren Romanen und Filmen unterhaltet, dass sie die Protagonisten garantiert kennen, aber mit dem Namen »Michel« überhaupt nichts anfangen können.
AufYoutube kann man die Verfilmung im Original (zerstückelt in 9 Teile) sehen und schwedisch lernen.
