“Arrival at Bag End”
I was asked by the Tolkien Society to create a painting for this year’s Christmas Card. This is what I came up with.

Hobbit Hole
I know this doesn’t look as the typical hobbit house you’ll find when you watch the sims speed builds but, as a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I wanted to build something as “real” as possible. Hobbit houses are not just holes in the ground (despite their name lol), their rooms are connected by “tunnels” that makes them look like a mole digged them under the ground. I used Bilbo’s house as an inspiration, that’s why you’ll see so many books and items that a random hobbit would not have in their house since they’re not interesting in travelling as Bilbo was.

I remember being completely enchanted with The Hobbit when I first read it when I was 8, and that enchantment has remained with me.

My birthday cake, made from scratch by my lovely GF!
WIP. I really wish I had some good daylight because the colors are just gorgeous. Hoping the paint won’t run into the pages but no biggie if it does bc the book is already waterstained.
Does anyone else use watercolor almost exactly like acrylic or is that just me?
