It’s Wednesday, the Weekend is in sight! To clebrate the middle of the week, we made some tiny Hobbit themed muffins. Who wants some? What we really love about the Shire and the Hobbits is the coziness of their life there. Everything goes by a bit slower, it seems. Things are done one by one and cherished and acknowledged consciously. Maybe sometimes, we could be more Hobbitlike and just be happy about some freshly baked cupcakes instead of feeling stressed by all the messages on our phones or the appointments in our calendars…
If you happen to have several @wetaworkshop Hobbit holes, you’d be a fool not to set up a Hobbit landscape for Middle-earth March! We have some more, but we figured we didn’t want to overload the picture. Now we want to travel to Middle-earth and visit the Shire, spend some time there and live among the most peaceful beings, eating lots of cake, drinking good ale and just being merry!
Our friends over at @Tolkientribe have a list of suggestions for Middle-earth March posts. Today‘s topic is Hobbiton - an ode to the Shire. So we took one of our Hobbit editions and set out to think about what an evening in the Shire must feel like. We figured, probably the Hobbits are returning home from the fields, a walk in the woods or visiting the neighbours.
New Zealand is spectacular. My partner and I hiked around Mt Doom, swam in countless hot springs and saw too many natural wonders to list. I never want to leave.
Did you know that there’s ranking in the Hobbit’s houses based where they are placed? That’s why Mr. Bilbo Baggins’ house is on the top-most one.
Go to this most picturesque private farmland. The set has been completely rebuilt for The Hobbit and will remain as it was seen in these films and The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

Just imagine for a minute, you’re walking through an old library, and you turn and see this wedged into the shelves. You step through, and find yourself in Bag End—your feet on the green grass, and a gentle spring breeze rolling past as you wander under the bright blue sky.
