They’re done!! They’re finally done!! I was so excited to draw these and I’m so incredibly happy how they turned out!
I tried some new techniques with lighting and shading and I’m really satisfied with the end result. I used gradients of their colour schemes as a colour correction layer over the base shading and I feel like it gives the shading more depth without being too much.
Spent my afternoon refining sketches and creating a sort of cheat sheet for colors. Last time I shut down my Macbook and closed Photoshop properly, all of my recent color swatches got deleted… first time that ever happened and I can’t get them back… And those swatches all happened to be for the Turtles, April and Casey.
Anyways… An art update!!! So excited to line, color and shade everything!
Also… am I the only one who kind of ships April and Cassandra?
Completely redrew Mikey and April because I wasn’t too happy with their poses. They were the only ones who were folded in on themselves and not standing up like the others, and that kind of bugged me. I also might still change the leg positioning of Raph, because I’m still not a 100% happy with it, but getting somewhere.

I had kind of a low energy day today, so instead of continuing the first artwork of the turtles brothers or starting to line these ones, I procrastinated and only managed to clean these up a bit in Photoshop and do some changes that were necessary to improve the overall look.
Lots of adjustments still required, but I’m so happy how each and every one of these sketches turned out!
I wanted to draw everyone’s finale looks, because I absolutely love the black/T!color combination. April and Casey joined the party because Leo’s pose was giving me such a headache I had to draw something else before getting back to him.
I’m especially happy with the latter four where I ran out of my sketch pencil and picked up coloured pencils instead to sketch. I wish I had done the same with Raph and Mikey from the beginning, but whatever.. not gonna redo something I’m happy with.
I will still finish the other artwork I’ve been sharing, but I gotta say, I like these ones a lot better already. Comes to show what a week of daily sketching can help improve.
Hey guys, so I’ve been gone for a while. Let me explain where I’ve been. So I recently moved from my hometown and I’ve been spending my time settling in. I also been super distracted by school and crap and I’ve been working hard since I found out I can graduate at 16 apparently. I’ve also been dealing with medical stuff. I don’t want to get too into it but basically I was just diagnosed with a motor tic disorder and I’ve been having problems with my colon/uterus after a run in with E. Coli last year. I’m back and I’ll try to be writing when I can!
Leo: Leo wants “practical” gifts, like a new sheets for his bed or stationary supplies. He doesn’t want to seem selfish, but deep down he really wants some books on Japanese prodverbs or sword accessories.
Raph: Probably wants some new weights or new workout equipment. He’d also probably want some new metal or rock CD’s. He’d secretly die if anyone got him a homemade mug or scarf or blanket.
Donnie: COMPUTER PARTS AND TECH STUFF. Literally all he’d probably ask for tbh. Okay, that and maybe some new books or materials for some science projects. That and just a few minutes of peace and quiet from his brothers.
Mikey: I could see him asking for an immense amount of pizza. Maybe some art supplies or some new video games. Tbh probably asked for a kitten or a puppy and probably has asked for one since he was like 3. May also ask for some action figures.
Splinter: He isn’t necessarily attached to anything, but if he had to choose, maybe a new tea set. Another good gift idea could be various teas or insense.
April: She’d probably not be very upfront with what she wants. When asked she’ll just say “I only want to spend time with you guys”. But deep, deep down, there is a nice pair of heels she’s been keeping her eyes on that she’d literally cry if given.
Casey: He’d probably ask for some new sports equipment. I mean, all his old stuff is all battered from busting skulls. He may also want sports tickets to a hockey game. He’ll also ask for a kiss from April, only to get rejected.
Karai: She really wants to celebrate but can’t due to Shredder forbidding it. But if she could, she’d probably want some time off and maybe some self-care items like nail polish and face masks. Ya’ll know Karai deserves a break.
Shredder:Splinter’s death. He doesn’t believe in celebrating such a silly holiday, it’s below him. Shredder literally has no Christmas spirit and has forbidden anyone in the Foot from celebrating.
Things From TMNT 2012 That NO ONE Talks About and SHOULD Talk About
- Casey HATES dubbed anime. He’s also played by Josh Peck from Drake and Josh.
- April was failing trigonometry at one point, but at the time she was still tutoring Casey.
- April has an aunt that we’ve never met. Casey has a dad and a sister. Karai and Shinigami had been friends since childhood and Karai never mentioned her.
- Alopex and Tigerclaw probably killed their parents and joined the circus.
- Raph has a drum set in his room. He also sleeps with a teddy bear.
- Karai’s makeup has never smuged and it took us 5 seasons to see April with her hair down.
- Raph grew a beard, so the turtles can grow hair?? Maybe idk??
- The guy who played Donnie played Raph in the 1987 series. Mikey’s VA plays a character in ROTTMNT. Leo has had 3 voice actors.
- Mikey wears a pair of underwear because he can.

- I have a headcannon that the Little Girl Leo has tea with is actually Casey’s little sister.
- Leo still continued to have tea parties with the little girl, whose name is Chloe.

- Renet didn’t tell the boys about the apocalypse.
- Donnie and Casey still have unexplained gaps in their teeth.
- In the episode with the ghost that possessed Leo, Mikey, and Raph, you can see on Donnie’s computer that he was taking a Buzzfeed quiz about which goat he is.
- Raph is probably a fan of Resonance art since he names Chompy “Chompy Picasso” and Y’Gbtha “Mona Lisa”.

Things from TMNT 2007 That NO ONE Talks about and SHOULD Talk About
- The 2007 movie is a continuation on the 1990 film series. It came out almost 11 years after the last 90’s movie and they made it CGI. Also, the turts are all in their late 20’s early 30’s. Also, there was a point in my life that I had every line to this movie memorized.
- Casey Motherfucking Jones is played by CHRIS MOTHERFUCKING EVANS. YEAH THAT’S RIGHT, AMERICA’S ASS PLAYED HOCKEY BOY. I AM NOT LYING.
- April is literally living her best life. She has a mans, she owns her own company (who knows what happened to the news reporter thing or the antique shop tho), she’s a NINJA. Girl has her life together and I’m kinda jealous.
- Someone called Donnie’s tech support line thinking it was a phone sex line.
- Casey Dumb as a Brick Jones was the only one to figure out that Raph was The Nightwatcher.
- There is a deleted scene in which CASEY PROPOSES TO APRIL IM HERE FOR IT I STANNNNNN.

- Raph CANNONICALLY lets April call him “Raphie” as a pet name. He also calls April’s wasabi peas “O’Niel’s Rabbit Food”.
- Master Splinter is a Lionel Richie fan. Also the song Mikey sings to April at the end of the first movie is called “Happy Together” by a band called The Turtles.
- Donnie cannonically has a crush on April. April cannonically doesn’t notice Donnie’s said crush on her.
- It’s been 5 years and Mikey still probably doesn’t understand the end of Lost.
- Raph is a Vin Disel fan (aren’t we all) and is afraid of heights. Poor boy belongs on the ground.
- Mikey has a LITERAL hoverboard. Like LITERALLY. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN I NEED TO KNOW.

- Lil’ Mikey has seen a murder take place through the sewers.

Hey y'all, it’s been two months since the Style on the Rise fashion zine was released!! So that means I can finally share all the work I did for it publicly! ^^
I had an absolute blast working on this project with everyone, the collabs were great and I really pushed myself past my comfort level with my solo piece at the top!
This is completely hypothetical, but I do believe rottmnt can be revived either on Netflix or Paramount+.
If it’s on Netflix, then I think we can expect at least 10-13 episodes a season. On paramount+, I think somewhere between 20-26 episodes. This is all with the understanding that two 11-minute segments make up an episode to fill the 22-minute slot.
I really don’t like it when the episodes are dropped all at once, and would rather it release them weekly because it would give people enough time to process and discuss them. So, the only way I can see Netflix doing something similar to that is if they split the season with releasing one part first, then the second part at a later date.
Considering that the movie will be released on Netflix, I guess it would make sense for the potential revival to end up on there. But I heard that Netflix been having some problems lately so I’m not sure about that.
Now that I got through all the technical stuff, I can dive into what I would want from this (technically) new series.
See and expand more on their friends and allies like Sunita, Piebald, Frankenfoot, and DIGG. I would also like for Gentry (from the witch town episode) to be brought back.
Have the opportunity to see what Casey’s dynamic with everyone else will be like. Definitely would want to see their take on her and Raph’s friendship.
Totally minor but wondering if she’ll be referred to with nicknames, with the exception of Casey. Like Cass, CJ, or maybe she’ll jokingly still be called Foot Recruit at some points.
(If the movie doesn’t have time to address it) Mayhem and Shelldon have to show up again.
I do think Karai could still come back as a spirit and get to learn more about the Hamato Clan as a whole.
I would like for them bring in Tang Shen and for her to be alive because (1) I think Splinter deserves to have more friends and (2) I would like her being something of an aunt to the boys and April.
I am very interested to see Rise’s take on Miyamoto Usagi y’know because him showing up in the franchise is something kind of expected in each iteration. Or, the show can just have a crossover with his descendant from the series Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles.
One of the most off-the-wall moments in the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film was when Donatello and Casey Jones have an argument over who Mary Ann from Gilligan’s Island would end up with, the Professor or Gilligan.
And their positions are pretty interesting, when you think about it.
Casey: …And the Professor and Mary Ann, happily ever after.
Donatello: No way, atomic mouth! Gilligan was he main man. They’d be married and have six kids by now.
Casey takes the side of the Professor, who is more traditionally good-looking, while Donatello sides with the more awkward Gilligan. You’d think Don would go with a fellow intellectual…or was he projecting on physical appearances?
