I am not dead! Just haven’t been using Tumblr to post work lately. Moving forward, I will probably just be putting full illustrations up on the blog which means updates will be pretty slow. In any case, I wanted to show this piece I did for @bat-famzine! I’m so so late revealing it here, but there ya go. The zine itself came out so beautifully, I’m honored I got to be a part of it :)

I recently finished this poster for a local museum, the Wilson Place Mansion, which is holding a live reading of War of the Worlds in honor of Halloween. This is the second year they’ve done a Halloween-themed event, last year doing readings of Victorian ghost stories in their parlor. I was really stoked to do this project, because I love old film posters and wanted to bring downtown Menomonie into it. I pulled from several War of the Worlds posters/covers to make sure the visual language was the right vintage. It was a really fun, quick project.

All October long, I’ll be posting monster drawings on my Tumblr page. Here we have Medusa from the Ray Harryhausen-produced Clash of the Titans. Man… that movie freaked me out so much when I was a kid. I couldn’t look at Medusa for fear of turning to stone. She just terrified me.

My pal, good ol’ Matt Talbot. I’m retumbling this series of illustrations because he is awesome.

I did another poster for our local museum, the Wilson Place Mansion, and their third annual Halloween event. Using the theme of lumberjack tales, the mansion hosted a mini-play with actors reading campfire stories to each other, and it was a good time. I tried to give the poster the feel of a 1970s horror movie or paperback novel.

Spent the evening drawing Agent Carter, Hayley Atwell’s lead character from the eponymous show.
