Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin - Spirit is a Bone
2015, MACK, first edition (signed). Book came wrapped in tissue paper.
The portraits in this book were produced using advanced facial recognition technology that’s being used in most cities around the world, developed by engineers in Moscow from existing systems built to recognize car plates. These so called ‘non-collaborative portraits’ are more three dimensional data maps than photographs, where no human contact is registered: there’s a total negation of humanity, they’re essentially some sort of digital death masks. Broomberg & Chanarin have constructed their own taxonomy of portraits in contemporary Russia, including Pussy Riot members and other Moscow citizens.

A Conceptual piece I did of Johnattan Majors as Kang the Conqueror in the upcoming Antman 3 movie. Loved his performance in the Loki, cant wait to see him in the kang the conqueror suit.

Erik A. Frandsen is a Danish conceptual artist, and he turns 65 today. He is well-educated in the graphic arts (in Paris), ceramics (in Greece) and sculpture (in Carrara, Italy). Frandsen is also the co-founder of Værkstedet Værst in 1981 with other of the ‘young wild’ generation of Danish artists.
Above is an installation photo from a show at Horsens Kunstmuseum (2013), titled Pilgrimage for an Armchair Explorer, for which Frandsen had made large acrylic paintings, painted sculptures and other objects.
