Imagine you are Nie Mingjue and the Jiang’s are hosting a cultivation conference and your father insisted to bring your little brother. “The Jiang’s have a kid his age, he will have fun”. Imagine the conference stretches until late in the evening and then your dad tells you “It’s late go pick up your brother”. Then you open the doors and this is what you find. Good luck untangling them.
Something silly that I drew after someone suggested it in the sangcheng server. Its old by now and originally I left it uncoloured. I think I have a better grasp of their faces now, but this is still fluffy and funny so there you go.
Day 8 - Through the years (gusu days, sunshot campaign, post canon…)
Happy end of SangCheng Week everyone!
This is actually the only piece I truly managed to finish. I did it a month ago and I wish I had had the time to have the rest of the illustrations get to this level, but alas.
Look at that last one. That is some disney prince shit right there. I love Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang so much, you guys. I think they are both flawed and fucked up individuals, but I think that makes them both even more interesting. Post canon is so interesting to me because they’ve gone through so much, they’ve suffered such losses, that I think they would have some common ground to work on.
This is for the same AU as day 4, where Nie Huaisang saves Jin Rusong from being killed and allies with Jiang Cheng to bring Jin Guanyao down.
Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang take advantage of the busy atmosphere at the cultivation conference in Koi Tower to sneak around and go into the Jin’s private area to look for incriminating evidence on JGY. Unfortunately, JGY comes back way earlier than they had expected so they are forced to improvise.
NHS: what? we? looking for proof of your numerous crimes? NOOOOooo. We were just here because it’s a secluded place and we wanted to kiss. We were kissing. Because we are in a secret romantic relationship San-ge. Obviously.
Its amazing but it does work. Jiang Cheng is blushing ultra hard and not saying anything so he does look genuinely ashamed of having been caught, and Huaisang was kissing him quite ardently so even though the idea of them surprises JGY he believes it. NHS tells JC to go back to the guests quarters cause he is going to have a convo with JGY.
Our Jin Guangyao is a bit skeptic about this relationship being good for Huaisang. After all Jiang Zongzhu is famous for his anger outbursts and his severity. Huaisang answers doing what he does best: mixes some truths with lies so it is all believable. He tells Jin Guangyao that he’s been in love with Jiang Cheng since they met at Cloud Recesses. He is the only friend he has left from that generation with wwx and jzx being dead and wangji being in seclusion. He also tells him that Jiang Cheng understands grief, and remembering loved ones, and even though they are very different they complement each other. He even tells him that Jiang Cheng can be very sweet when no one is around looking. So he obviously asks JGY to please keep the relationship a secret.
JGY accepts.
Jiang Cheng is waiting for NHS to show up back in his quarters. When he does he has a meltdown because JGY now has something he can use as leverage against him. Blackmail him to get more time with Jin Ling than him. They have a bit of a fight because Jiang Cheng shouts “I’m not a cutsleeve!” and nhs shouts back at him “Well, I AM”. That surprises and shuts JC up. After the shouting match they kinda calm down and JC admits that it was very clever move on Huaisang’s part, and that if they are “secretly dating” even if JGY spies on them he will only know that they are visiting each other and travelling together to random places. Everything they do now has that façade
When all the tension is out Huaisang jokes
“You know, you could at least have kissed back JC, you are a shit lover”
JC blushes hard again and snarls “YOU GAVE ME NO WARNING WHATSOEVER” Nhs probably riles him up a bit more until he dares to prove to him that he knows how to give a goddamn kiss. You know JC’s competitive ass.
They kiss now properly and when they part JC doesn’t want to admit it but he kinda has butterflies in his stomach. He says nothing, obviously, but nhs stares at him kind of star struck.
Nothing else happens that day but something has changed between them and then things will end up evolving.
I love this AU so much I will probably end up writing a fic in the future. I just need to finish the two that I’ve started publishing first and all the wips in my google drive
Okay folks. This one is pretty much self explanatory. Pardon the messy sketches but I didn’t have enough time to clean this one up. ASDKSDJKÑSJ
So the story here is: Post canon, there’s a conference at Cloud Recesses. Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang get dragged by Wei Wuxian to share a drink on the rooftops. At first everything is a bit tense, so wwx jokes that it must be their tight hairstyles that is making them act all serious and proper and joyless. WWX decides that tonight is a fun night and they are going back to their childhood times so he messes with JC and NHS’ hair so they both get back their teen bangs. After all that messing around things are much more relaxed. Wei wuxian takes a pebble from the roof and throws it to the little pond they have in front of them. It makes a nice wave in the water. Jiang Cheng absentmindedly does the same while they keep discussing something or the other, so Huaisang takes another little rock and tries himself BUT MISSES. The pebble goes into one of the buildings and suddenly someone screams “WEI WUXIAN!”
The three of them freeze momentarily and run away when Lan Qiren comes out of the pavillon to chase them. They run and RUN and then stop when they’ve lost him and laugh like the idiots they are. That’s when Wei Wuxian decides to call it a night and go back to his husband. The rest is all there in the comic.
Nie Huaisang somehow learns of Jin Guangyao’s plan of killing his son for political gain and to hide his shameful marriage to his sister. So Nie Huaisang decides to steal and save Jin Rusong.
The only problem is that he knows nothing about babies. So Jin Rusong is inconsolable and Nie Huaisang tries everything: feeding him, changing him, offering toys… but he is out of his depth and starts crying too. Luckily (?) for him he is discovered by Jiang Cheng who helps Rusong to finally stop crying and go to sleep by humming a sweet lullaby.
After that Nie Huaisang and him have a long conversation about why he has Jin Guangyao’s missing son with him and Huaisang tells him about Nie Mingjue’s murder and how he heard Jin Guangyaos plan to kill his own son.
Jiang Cheng agrees to help him bring Jin Guanyao down, but they need a plan. In the meantime they will have to hide Rusong and make sure no one finds out. They both get very attached to little Rusong but find some humble Nie family that can take care of him for the time being.
The only problem is that they’ve both also started developing feelings for each other. OH WELL. They can secretly co-parent a stolen baby without things getting out of hand can’t they?
I have no fic of mine to go with this prompt but turns out that the lovely Tabby has written one and you should all go toread it immediatelybecause is the SWEETEST THING.
Nie Huaisang’s childhood before he met Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng was marked by bullies like Wen Chao.
Now that he is in college he can take advantage of the amount of time that has passed to enact his revenge.
Nie Huaisang dresses as a girl and seduces Wen Chao at a frat party in order to get compromising pics of him with the intention of publishing them. The plan doesn’t go exactly as he wanted and he has to flee, so he immediately takes Jiang Cheng’s hand (the only friend who has a car) and runs from the party with him.
The rest of the night is spent in the car, parked in the middle of nowhere so they can wait for jc’s alcohol levels in blood to drop and drive safely without risking a fine. Jiang Cheng is having a very confusing night and several awakenings.
