Wanted to do some pose practice so I looked at some Encanto concept art…. Was absolutely taken by this isabela art!

I’m about 5 months late but I really love this movie also, hi!! It has been a whileee but I hope you guys are doing alright!!

General Isabela Headcannons (femxfem)

• First off- she definitely confessed first
• You had been pining for each other since you accidentally bumped into her during Mirabels usual Madrigal family song
• You had accidentally pushed her to the floor and when you stuck your hand out to help her back up, she thought that an angel was towering over her
• After that meeting and slightly awkward stammered apologies from you, you both decided to meet up every Tuesday for a little bit of girl time
• The family noticed but just thought y’all were ‘really good friends’
• Small time skip to about a year into the friendship
• She was confident that you had a crush on her which worked out for her because she definitely had a crush on you
• She lured you into the village, and loudly stated that she wanted to confess something there
• Of course Delores heard and told the entire family
• So on the Tuesday usual time, she got both of you in position and ready to confess
• She saw her family approaching and started to confess
• “Y/n. I know that you might not feel the same way, and I will accept that if you don’t, but you are my sun. I’ve been madly in love with you since the day you bumped into me in the markets. I know you love my flowers so I grew you these”
• and she pulls out a bunch of your favorite flowers that you’d mentioned on a one off and that’s how you knew it was genuine
• The family were just stood there like: (pepa) , (Felix), (Delores), (abula), (Camilo), (Antonio), (Julieta and Augustín) , (Luisa)
• You chuckled and pulled out a very detailed flower broach which you put in her hair and gave her a kiss on the cheek for an answer
• She calls you things like: honey, baby, and her personal favorite ‘Mi futura esposa’ which means my future wife
• Alma warms up to you but the rest of the family love you the minute you step into the home
• Dates with her include: sitting in her room probably on her bed and just laying with eachother, walks around encanto hand in hand with the occasional musical number
• When the Madrigals started to loose their gifts, Isabela was so scared that you might leave her. You quickly reminded her that she was still her without the powers and that flowers can grow naturally
• You get along with Mirabel by default, sorry I don’t make the rules
• You decide to propose first because you want to do something special for your special girl
• So you get everyone in the center and tell her to follow the roses which lead up to you, the family and the villagers- you didn’t tell the family you were proposing lmao
• You sing:

• At the end of the song she’s deadass crying happy tears and flowers are just out of control
• When y’all get married the song you sing is “no matter where you are” from the book of life
• Ps when Bruno meets you, he’s like “ so errrr have you proposed yet?” And the family all look at him like

It was a busy day in Encanto, the sun was beaming down on the villagers and they went about their daily chores, getting some assistance from Luisa when necessary, but still scurrying around to get things done.

Despite it only being lunchtime, there was already a line next to Julieta’s meal table and within that line stood a small six year old girl, dressed in a light blue skirt and a typical white short sleeved blouse, her hair done up in a bun to keep it out of her face, and in her hand she held a stick. Now you’re probably wondering why the stick? It would be because Poppy Diàz is blind. The six year old had arrived to the the village 2 years prior with her parents from England, the Diàz family had never disclosed why they moved , but nobody seemed to care.

Poppy had been born blind and her parents had cried, because they knew their little girl would struggle in the world, but as time went on they could see that she was stubborn, and they knew she would be ok.

Now when they had moved to the village, Poppy had been 4 years old and very curious. She was so curious that when her Mamí had put her down quickly to grab a few items from a stall, she had scurried away towards a loud vibration that had peaked the girls interest-

This vibration happened to be Luisa, helping her family set up a picnic and toppling over a tree for fire wood, and as Luisa had gotten ready to start heading back to the Madrigals she noticed a small baby crawling around seemingly without direction.

“Awe hello little one” Luisa said gently dropping the firewood she had collected, making sure none of it would roll and possibly hurt the child she had just found, “what are you doing out here? Where’s your mama?”

Poppy had continued to crawl around, slightly confusing Luisa, as when baby’s hear a voice normally they stop what they’re doing and look at the person talking- or was that just something Mirabel and Camilo do?

Luisa looked around and figured that she would take the baby girl- or what looked like a baby girl- to her Tia Pepa and come back for the firewood then take the girl into Encanto in hopes to find the child’s actual parents.

Luisa slowly approached the 4 year old and gently as she could be picked the baby up, making sure that her grip wasn’t too strong as she still wants the best with controlling her powers. Poppy had stilled after being picked up, but continued to look around quite unsure of what was going on, these hands didn’t feel like her mamas but they didn’t feel uncomfortable either, so Poppy had decided to not make a fuss and see how this went.

While Poppy had been thinking to herself, Luisa had started back to her family, hoping that her mother would help her find the parents so she wouldn’t have to explain how she found the child. As Luisa reached the point where her family were talking and playing she realized that the baby had fallen asleep in her arms.

“Ah Luisa! You’re back! How were the woods” her Abula Alma hacked over her shoulders whilst cooing at an adorable Mirabel who had just handed her a rock “It was fine Abula but I found something erm rather interesting” Luisa replied whilst walking towards where the group where all sat down.

“What did you find cariño- dios mio! Where did you get a baby?”

Ok so I’m gonna stop there because I have to wake up early tomorrow , the next three chapters will just be introducing the families to one another and setting up the back story! Ok
