So it’s pretty much canon that Bruno is Catholic, and I’ve been thinking a lot about it to be honest, just the mental image of a genuflecting Bruno with his eyes closed and praying is very wholesome to me

The quiet unwavering comfort of faith.
Bruno genuflected before the wooden crucifix that hung on his wall, crossing himself as he knelt down slowly. Reaching under his ruana, he pulled out the simple rosary that hung around his neck. The same one that had hung there for forty five years. Carefully hoisting it over his head, he reverently brought it to his lips, then his forehead, then clasping his hands together he bowed his head in the peaceful silence of his room, and began to pray.
His lips moved soundlessly as he prayed, his brow furrowed in concentration, his eyes closed to the rest of the world as he gave singular focus to his faith. Bruno prayed for many things. Prominent among them was, of course, his family. He prayed for their continued health, happiness and fulfilment. That they always knew the feeling of being loved and cherished and whole. He prayed for the townsfolk, that they found the courage and wisdom to navigate life’s trials.
For himself, he prayed rarely. When he did, he prayed for strength. Strength to endure his visions and their painful after-effects, strength to shoulder his burden with virtue and grace. Strength to simply continue on the path he had been given.
Sometimes his prayers were answered. Sometimes not. Yet his faith never wavered. It was a comfort to him, one that he clung to in dark days and even darker nights.
His prayers complete, Bruno crossed himself again, relishing the serene calm that flooded his entire body, relaxing his aching muscles and soothing his mind. The quiet unwavering comfort of faith he held dear to him, and while he knew his life as a seer was never easy, at least he had something in his life that was always there for him.
Mirabel took it upon herself to watch over her Tío Bruno as he slept feverishly. She helped her Mamá keep him cool - carefully placing damp cloths on his forehead, making sure his hair was out of his face, keeping watch for any change in his unconscious state.
Bruno’s rats made a habit of gathering together, chattering excitedly at the foot of his bed. Some ventured onto the bed itself, but were quickly called back by the leader of the little group. Mirabel had asked Antonio to make sure to keep them fed and looked after. She wanted them all to be safe and well to greet her Tío when he woke up. Her little Antonio was only too pleased to help, a strange look clouding his eyes as he agreed enthusiastically to her request. But Mirabel couldn’t think about what was up with her little primo right now. All that mattered was that she was there when her Tío woke up. When he woke up…
Gonna do my Encanto hcs because I can and feel like it.

Isabela:
- I’m thinking lesbian. I feel like most people have explained this one to death but the rundown is basically she just Gives Those Vibes + comphet
- autistic!!! What Else Can I Do tells the story of a girl learning to unmask so clearly. Also Isabela’s whole perfect persona gives big masking vibes. Idk I just think it’s neat.

Dolores:
- autistic once again!! Her sensory overload is a MOOD and there’s a lot of fun stuff to play with there. Told a guy “you talk so loud” as a compliment.
Mirabel:
- adhd and autism. She very much has a “thinking out loud” personality. Special interest in sewing!! Always moving, sensory seeking.
- I don’t have a specific sexuality hc for her but I feel like she’s mspec.
Pepa:
- autistic! She strokes her braid to calm down/as a stim, emotional dystrguation, and also I just think Pepa and Dolores both being autistic is neat. Also people not understanding how to handle her emotions.
- as a friend pointed out, there’s a lot of overlap between ASD and BPD, and I think Pepa slides right into that sweet spot.
Camilo:
- gay, but specifically the brand of gay that only a theatre boy can be.
- questioning his gender hardcore, but not quite there yet. Not totally cis tho.
- Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. No further comment.

Mirabel
Mirabel started doing embroidery when Alma ripped her dress and Mirabel tried to fix it to make her happy. The dress still has the aggressive stitches from when she was 4
She is an awful cook, she found this out when she burnt pasta, she want even making pasta
When someone asks her what her gift is it usually makes her panicky that they won’t like her so she immediately changes the subject to her family cause it’s an easy subject for her and she’s genuinely very proud of them
People just kind of dump their kids on her so she become the unpaid town babysitter, only problem with that is dosent know how to handle more than one child at once. Her family usually help her though.
She has broke a lot of stuff to the point where her family immediately know if she’s broken something and how to get her to tell them what
Luisa
Mirabel just sits on her shoulder like all the time, she used to do it when she was little and the habit just never stopped
She usually calms herself down with hugs so she usually just sits with someone on the couch as they both do something, no one questions it at this point it’s just normal
Everyone just imminently assumes she the oldest of the grandkids, and are genuinely surprised when she tells them she’s the third oldest
When she was little she used to follow Isabella and Delores around the house to the point where they gave her the nickname ‘duckling’ it wore off as they all got older though
She’s Antonio’s favourite, as much as he says he loves them all equally. Giant daddy’s girl
Isabella
When Mirabel was really little she used to sit her in her lap and made her loads of flower necklaces, bracelets and crown. Mirabel and Isabella still have most of them, Mirabel have rotted and Isabella keeps her alive
She has a garden that no one knows of, it was meant to be a gift for alma after Mirabel got her gift but everyone started to panic so she abandoned it.
Isabella tells everyone that Bruno said her life would be perfect but really he told her that ‘she would marry someone she didn’t love but it would make her family happy’
She doesn’t mean the stuff she says to Mirabel at all, she’s just jealous sometimes on how Mirabel, doesn’t have any expectations to live up too
She wishes she never gotten the gift she got because she thinks maybe if she got another it would mean less pressure
Julieta & Agustin
Jullietas favourite is Mirabel mainly because she spends almost every night cooking stuff for her to heal whatever broken bone, cut or bruise she’s somehow given herself.
Agustin is from the city, he mainly came to the encanto to get Julietas food since his mum was sick, after he gave his mum the food he moved back to the encanto where he and Julieta started dating
Agustin and Mirabel are equally as clumsy as each other and get shared scoldings from Julieta.
When Mirabel, Isabela and Luisa where baby’s. Agustin would sit them on his chest as he slept
Antonio
Sometimes Antonio worries about how he might be alone because the second youngest is still ten years older than him
He has cried multiple times because his family stepped into ants
Antonio likes to sit on people’s laps and hug onto them, even if he gets stressed out by too much attention he still likes hugs though, he can never get too much of them
He and Mirabel used to sit up ever night telling each other stories or just whatever rumour they heard around town, they would sit under a blanket with stuffed animals and a flashlight.
After Antonio got his gift and his room he still sneaks into the nursery to talk with Mirabel, the only difference is he brings his animal friends with him
Camilo
He’s a chaotic dumbass, like even he knows it, so does everyone else
When someone is talking he’ll usually stand behind them and shapeshift into them.
If someone in the family has a crush he immediately starts to shapeshift into who they have a crush on just to annoy and fluster them
He’s very much a mamas boy, him and Pepa usually go out together to the shops cause he likes to spend time with her
He sometimes shapeshifts into alma to make people do what he wants
Delores
She usually so quiet because if she talks louder it hurts her ears
When she first got her powers everyone in the crowd cheered and since she wasn’t used to her powers she almost had a panic attack
She hears one time heard someone talk about her during dinner and burst out crying
Delores one time dropped Camilo of the center but in the house, she says to this day thats why he’s so weird
Antonio does the thing where he attaches himself to her leg and won’t let go, she’s gotten so used to it she can just walk around with him on her leg
Pepa & Felix
Felix calls Pepa “sunshine” and Pepa calls Felix “Rainbow”
Pepa sometimes tries to change her emotions to give people the weather they want but it barely ever works
Pepa was originally going to get married to someone else but she found out he was only using her for her family magic, Felix comforted her when she was scared to tell her family.
After that whole thing happened Felix had always been slightly protective of Pepa.
Felix used to be scared the family would think less of him cause he wasn’t magical but when he met Agustin it made him feel better.
Bruno
He really wanted to be an actor when he was little but when he got his power he knew it wouldn’t be possible
He basically sees Mirabel as his daughter, he got really attached to her quickly
Hes named named his rats after his sisters and dad. He would have named one after alma but everytime he thinks about her he feels like he was too much of a disappointment to even say her name
Jullieta taught Bruno how to cook but hes still not as good as her but he’s pretty close.
Bruno constantly get his clothes caught on everything, no matter what he does his clothes will always get caught
Alma & Pedro
Alma Says she dosent have a favourite but her favourite is Isabella and everyone knows it’s Isabela get she still denies it
If Pedro was still alive his favourite would either be Camilo or Delores but he’d still treat all his grandkids equal
Alma and Pedro were originally going to be an arranged marriage but they did grow to love eachother and ran away to get married on their own terms
Before they got Casita Alma was a florist and Pedro was a baker. Pedro would always go to her flowers forgetting she worked their.
Jullieta, Pepa and Bruno are named after their mums and dad.
- Because of his future vision he’ll often see bits of pop culture that no one has heard of before. So he’ll often make a joke referencing that part of pop culture laugh to himself for a minute and then remember no one else got his joke
- isa is a asexual lesbian that uses she/him pronouns cause why not?
- When pepa and felix started dating pepa always referred to bruno as her “little brother” so felix was always imagining like a 10 year old. When invited over to meet her family he had gotten a surprise toy because he thought bruno was like a kid and was very shocked to see a grown ass man who he then found out was only 3 minutes younger then pepa
- Felix side of the family absolutely adores pepa family and thinks the magic they have is super cool. While augstin side of the family is very jealous of julieta and her families magic
- Mirabel is pedro reincarnated
- Dolores really enjoys silent movies since she can just not listen and still know what happening
- Mirabel can look at someone do something once and be able to do it herself with relative ease (she can just basically pick up most skills with very little effort)
- Camilo is a picky eater so he often just eats a bunch of like one thing at meals to the point there’s none for anyone else
-Luisa is lactose intolerant
- When julieta and agustin first started dating bruno didn’t like him but now hes probably one of bruno’s favorite people to talk to
- One time pepa insulted bruno and instead of getting upset he just looked in to her eyes and was like “October 3rd”. Pepa freaked out after that thinking she was gonna die but it was actually the day she was going to meet felix
- Felix and Augustin where both born and raised outside of encanto and moved there later in life
-Since encanto is so isolated most of the family only knows what going on in the world through bruno’s predictions
- isa favorite sweets are chocolates
- Mirabel absolutely loves rock candies, she has almost thrown up because she got a bunch for her birthday and ate them all at once
When Camilo changes form he changes the height too, but during the “we dont talk about bruno” song he is the exact height of bruno, not the seven foot.
If Bruno took the smashed ‘bad’ visions and crushed them up more then mixed it into paint, would it be glow in the dark paint? He’d be the type of dad that would surprise his child with glowing stars on their ceiling cause they’re afraid of the dark. The kids would love it so much they later fill jars with the crushed glowing glass as an extra form of nightlight so they can use when walking in the dark.
- mirabel used to genuinely hide her baby-teeth under her pillow for the tooth-fairy and she once caught agustín in tooth fairy clothing trying to replace the tooth with a coin (she called the fairy ugly and never followed her personal tradition again)
- when bruno came back he betrayed the entire family for antonio
- antonio’s favorite went from agustín to bruno pretty quickly
- agustín started a revenge plan between himself to replace bruno asap
- pepa and julieta used to stay up late nights talking about how life would be, their brother, and how life is going with one another.
- when bruno came back they dragged him into their late night convos ;)
encanto headcanons that live in my head rent-free pt. 1?!
- camilo drew all over casita’s walls when he was younger and lost his pencil privileges
- félix still makes dolores’s hair even as she’s older
- antonio and pepa take long walks up the hills together and if toñito gets tired, pepa picks him up the rest of the way
- agustín taught all his daughters how to play the piano but as they grew older only luisa continued playing it. (mirabel decided to stick with an accordion + singing while isabela dropped behind the things she liked doing to meet up her abuela’s expectations and remain ‘perfect’)

Bruno Headcanons That Live In Here Rent-Free
Do I think Bruno is asexual? Yes. Do I think he’s the clumsiest romantic on the planet Earth anyways? Also yes.
Bruno is good at parkour, yes. But the second he sees someone he likes, that goes directly out the window, goodbye skills
I can vividly and PHYSICALLY envision Bruno leaning in a doorway trying to talk to his crush and like slipping and stumbling forward a little and catching himself and trying to laugh it off
Bruno is definitely the kind of guy to hear about or deduce some small interest you’ve got and then run with it,,, romantic or otherwise, doesn’t matter, if he thinks you’re cool he’ll collect things for you like a bird
Like say you show Bruno a cool rock you found one time?? Expect to find a bunch more cool rocks just popping up, like just in your bag or on your windowsill or something; he might give them directly but he’s way more likely to just leave them for you to find
If someone did something similar for him he would probably try really really hard not to cry and only kind of succeed
He’s really happy to be here
If you directly invite him to something, to his face, he’ll probably go; if you send him a card he’ll probably assume it was a politeness thing and will only go if his sisters do some convincing
After living in the walls for so long, he’s developed a habit of having a stash of Julieta’s food just in case

when Pepa and Julieta were pregnant with Dolores and Isabela it was an absolute nightmare in Encanto: the sudden weather changes made everyone sick and Julieta was too tired to cook.
luisa never stopped treating Mirabel like a toddler
like, luisa probably had to take care of mirabel when they were children and of course the 6 yo, much larger in size and gifted with strength luisa would just carry 2 yo mirabel like a new born baby whenever asked to
but thing is mirabel never really grew up for luisa, for her mira was always her small portable baby sister
so even now that mirabel is 15 when someone tells luisa to go get mirabel she just says something like “mom needs you in the kitchen” and pick her up from the floor
or mirabel saying something like “I’m so tired from walking” and luisa says “I’ll take you on my shoulders” and mira being like “uh, luisa, you don’t really have to I’m not a little kid-”
or mirabel is in someone’s way but instead of luisa asking her to move she just gently lift her and put her a bit to the side
we even see luisa fixing mira’s clothes and glasses in surface pressure

Camilo Madrigal has the energy of the one boy in the musical theater program who always gets cast as the male romantic lead that every girl automatically has a crush on
yes, thank you, and…
Isabela is the one to always be casted either as the protagonist, romantic interest or that one mystical, beautiful ethereal being; but she hates it and wished she would be casted as the villainess instead or help set the play instead.
luisa is the kid casted as the tree but she is happy and puts a lot of effort in it. like, she’ll be the most expressive tree you’ll ever see and is super proud about it.
dolores prefers to help in the backstage rather than acting.
pepa never really learned how to deal with her emotions properly because people alwyas told her to bottle all up and if people actually let her let go of her emotions when she was younger she would be a much calmer person and having to calm her down all the time wouldn’t be a problem
and in addition to this, pepa was the reason why the whole “we don’t talk about bruno” thing started, but indirectly
truth is that pepa really really loves her brother (in all of you she’s the first to rush towards bruno and give him a big hug) and when he dissapeared she was obviously devastated
alma started censoring everyone who began to talk about bruno because it would upset pepa and potentially cause a disaster
meanwhile pepa took the “we don’t talk about bruno” talk from her mother as “bruno did something bad”, eventually she started feeling anger towards him for dissapearing and since she can’t deal with her emotions she just started seeing bruno in an overall bad light and blame him for stuff that happened on the past (like the wedding fiasco)
when he comes back, rather than shocked like julieta, pepa seems guilty to see bruno again.
