I just realised something:

Grover blames himself for thalias death bc he couldn’t save her. Now remember, Grover was apart of the team who’s mission resulted in Jason’s death. At the end of the day, he still couldn’t save a child of Zeus/Jupiter.

PJO Headcanon

When Percy dies, whether of old age or a monster, the camp mourns.

The ocean swells, swaths of forest wilt and the entire cyclops’ forge stops for the first time in a millennia to comfort the grieving brother in their midst.

But eventually life continues… and his legend lives on.

It lives on in the golden sword on the wall of the Big House, lives on in the stories older campers tell at the campfire, in the songs they sing about the Greatest Hero of the Modern Age.

The legend lives on as those same campers empty a bag of blue jolly ranchers into the bonfire at the end of summer, or save their blue skittles and m&ms all year around to add next year. It lives on as they tell the newer campers to do the same. It lives on with the unwavering dedication of a family who doesn’t forget.

The legend lives on as a new god rises from the prayers and sacrifices,
