Do you know what we were robbed of? We were robbed of that moment where the team gets a phone call from one of the ranger station along the Appalachian Trail - almost a decade after they worked the case - where they are told that they have Shane Wyland in custody.
Can you imagine the relief that the team would have felt? How from the moment Emily hung up the phone she would call Morgan and Hotch and tell them the news. Imagine how the new members of the team wouldn’t quite understand the reactions, but also feel their own relief at the knowledge that he had been arrested.
I wasn’t supposed to like James ‘We-are-the police-FBI-actually-So-we’re-sort-of-like-the-super-police’ Aubrey. I wasn’t supposed to like Sweet’s replacement.
But…
How can you not fall in love with that cinnamon roll! He’s musical, he never tops eating, he respects Booth enough to call him out when he’s being a bit of a dick. This man earnt my love, trust and respect.
(And yes, I am an adult who still treats fictional characters as if they are real. I have abandonment issues.)
