#janet van dyne
love the old comics because I got to the point in Avengers where Wanda, Pietro, and Clint joined and this is basically how it went:
Steve: *returns from being trapped in South America with no way home, having spent several days/weeks literally fighting snakes and jaguars in the wild before finally managing to find a ride out of the jungle and get a plane home. also he had a teenager with him the whole time he was basically just babysitting
Steve:It’s great to be back. Let’s go tell the Avengers I’m alive since none of them went look for me and teenager that’s with me. I can’t wait to see what business they’re attending to.
Thor: *is absent and dealing with some Asgard stuff*
Hank and Janet: *clearly packing their bags*
Tony: Oh great, you’re back. We’re holding a press conference about the fact that we just hired Hawkeye, the Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver as Avengers, even though up until this point all three of them have only been villains, because the rest of us are going on vacation. You’re going to supervise them while we’re gone, Steve. We did not actually vet them to make sure they aren’t still villains, good luck!
Marvel Feature #6 (Friedrich/Trimpe, Nov 1972). Jan gets on Hank’s level to sort through some marital discord. But Whirlwind — who has been in disguise as Jan’s chauffeur (for years!) — burns down their lab. Now the two teeny Avengers are missing presumed dead.
Marvel Feature #5 (Friedrich/Trimpe, Sept 1972). Still stuck in his shrunken size, Pym stumbled across an old foe’s latest scheme. Egghead’s niece stitches Hank a teeny new outfit to replace his soda-stained super-suit.
Movie Pitch
You’ve heard of the “Young Avengers” and “Old Man Logan” [or “Old Man [X]]
What if we had the Old Avengers? I mostly pitch this as a way to get Richard E. Grant back as Loki. Maybe we could finally see Janet Van Dyne in action? (Not that Michelle P is old but I am frustrated by the lack of Jan.) Maybe Helen Mirren as a Black Widow? (I’ve seen her in "Red” and “Fast and Furious”)
Oh! Oh! Carl Lumbly could come back too.
I just got excited. I have a villain and three Avengers. This is basically half written already.
The Avengers #51, 1968
And it’s tentacles time !
The Unstoppable Wasp 2018 #9
Scarlet Witch, Clea, & the Wasp by Paul Renaud
That time Earth’s Mightiest Heroes lost their flying privileges and had to get the bus to Queens to fight the bad guy.
Darkhold: Wasp #1

INTRODUCING THE IRREDEEMABLE WASP!
Renowned colorist and writer Jordie Bellaire makes her Marvel writing debut with a story that will make you shrink in fear! Bidden to draw forth five archetypal heroes, the Scarlet Witch chose Janet Van Dyne as “the artist” - the hero whose ingenuity and strength of will could prove the lynchpin in the coming battle against Chthon. To enter Chthon’s dimension and face his darkness head-on, the Wasp read from the ill-fated Darkhold text…and it drove her insane. Now her entire life is subject to question. Janet is no stranger to mental illness; she spent years trying to redeem ex-husband Hank Pym despite his violent breakdowns. But now, she has the power to reclaim her story…and fight back. Bellaire brings you the most twisted comic you’ll read this year!
