Lastly, I prepared Japanese and Thai (which I’m sure plenty are excited for!)

Sorry in advance that I couldn’t get them all, but here’s what I have!! Enjoy~~

Japanese:

일본 사람 (ilbon saram)

We have the 3 Japanese cuties from TWICE: Momo, Sana and Mina, and then we have the very handsome Japanese boy from NCT: Yuta!!

All are extremely talented and when you want to brag and say “Momo is Japanese” when talking about how her Korean is very good, tell them:

모모는 일본 사람입니다!

(Momo-neum ilbon saram-ibnida!)

And lastly, many of people’s favorite foreign idols~

Thai:

태국 사람 (t’aeguk saram)

• Here, the ‘ means to be more breathy and hard with hitting the consonant

The amazing, the glorious, the ever talented and gorgeous Thais: BamBam and Lisa!!!!

As many people favor these two (amazing) idols, surely you want to brag about them being Thai, and here’s how to do it:

뱀뱀은 태국 사람입니다.

(Bambam-eun t’aeguk saram-ibnida)

Now you can discuss the nationality of all your favorite idols!!!!

Next comes the plentiful idols from China, and the Taiwanese cutie, Tzuyu!

There was no way I could get all of the Chinese idols, but I tried and I hope you enjoy~ also our little cutie Tzuyu just had to make an appearance (and if there are more Taiwanese idols that I missed, I apologize but she was the first to come to mind!)

Chinese:

중국 사람 (joonguk saram)

Lay (Yixing), NCT’s Winwin, Renjun and Chenle, Jun (Junhui), The8 (Minghao), Miss A’s Fei, and lastly Jackson!

There are so many Chinese idols but these are just a few that probably have plenty of fans~

To say that “Lay is Chinese” (oh my goodness I miss him so much!!!) you would say:

레이는 중국 사람입니다.

(Lay-neun joonguk saram-ibnida)

(I know it’s very repetitive, but it’s good practice and honestly, who doesn’t want to see or talk about their favorite k-pop idols??)

Taiwanese:

대만 사람 (daeman saram)

Here we have the cute, lovable, Taiwanese princess, Tzuyu from TWICE!

When you want to talk about her (because honestly, who doesn’t??), you could say that “Tzuyu is Taiwanese” like this:

따위는 대만 사람입니다.

(Tzuyu-neun daeman saram-ibnida)

Also for those who might not have known, Tzuyu’s name is said as 쯔위 (jjeuwi) in Korean~

American, Canadian and Autrailian!

I’m sure I didn’t get all of the idols out there, but these are just a few that popped into my mind, so I hope you enjoy~ (also just to let you know, I chose them based off of birth place!)

American:

미국 사람 (miguk saram)

Here we have the lovely Mark, Ailee and Amber.

If you wanted to express to someone that “Mark is American” you could say:

마크는 미국 사람입니다.

(Mark-neun miguk saram-ibnida)

(Don’t forget, this is all in Formal Korean!!)

Canadian:

캐나다 사람 (kaenada saram)

I chose the amazingly talented Henry for this one.

If you wanted to tell somebody (in korean, of course ) that “Henry is Canadian” it’d go something like this:

(I’m choosing to write his name in English because he also has a korean name and I won’t want to confuse anybody!)

Henry는 캐나다 사람입니다.

(Henry-neun kaenada saram-ibnida)

Lastly~ Australian:

호주 사람 (hoju saram)

I’m sure a lot of you have either heard of or are avid fans of Stray Kids (I am too, how could you not love them?!?!???) which brings upon two special boys from Australia: Felix and Chan!

If you are as excited as I am and want to tell everybody that Felix and Chan are Australian, you would say:

피릭스는 호주 사람입니다.

찬은 호주 사람입니다.

(Felix-neun/Chan-eun hoju saram-ibnida)

언제 - When

부터 - from (usually used when referring to time but can be interchangeable with 에서 in a lot of cases)

지금 - right now

오늘 - today

어제 - yesterday

내일 - tomorrow

아까 - earlier

나중에 - later

This has multiple meanings based on context.

• First is if it is poised as a question then it gives the meaning of “shall (we,you,I)”

(우리가) 밥을 먹을까?  Shall we eat rice? (or meal, 밥 literally means rice but can be used just as meal in general)

• Second use is as a statement - I intend to/ I am thinking of - add 하다 to the end

그 영화를 볼까 해요. I am thinking of watching that movie.

• Third use is another statement - I am worried that/ about - add 봐 (sometimes the word 걱정되다 meaning to worry is added to the end but is dropped sometimes)

그녀가 나를 좋아하지 않을까 봐 걱정돼. I am worried that she will not like me.

sometimes when you conjugate an adjective it is necessary to change letters based on the ending (for this exercise I will conjugate into informal present tense)

if the word ends in ~하 : change to 해 ex. 하다 = 해요

If the word ends with ㅡ : change to ㅓ ex. 크다 = 커요 UNLESS the character before is a ㅏ then turn to ㅏ ex. 나쁘다 = 나빠요 OR there is a ㄹ at the end turn to ㄹ 라 ex. 빠르다 = 빨라요

if the word ends in ㅂ : change to 워 ex. 뜨겁다 = 뜨거워요

if the word ends in ㅣ : change to ㅕ ex. 느리다 = 느려요

if the word has a ㅏ on top and a ㅎ on the bottom : change to ㅐ ex. 삘갛  = 빨개요
