Always remember to go with your dreams, if you want to create a rpg Maker game go do it! No one will stop you, even if some people are a bit negative about it just remember the reason you are making it. Don’t let others push you down about something you are making for fun. Don’t be scared to join groups or discord chats since we are all nerds here just having fun. Always remember if you need help, feel free to ask. We are all human and we all love rpg Maker.

 I been seeing a lot of people talk about how “my games don’t have x like these games” or “idk if people would see my game” or “idk what to do for my first game”. Just a lot of people getting nervous about their work and games. So, I thought I should take it upon myself to make a little post because I just want to help to spread this word out which is. 

Take it easy everyone, like take a deep breath and pause for a real second. I want you to think about. “Why you want to create a game”
Really think about it, what is the reason you want to create this rpg maker game or just what ever you have.

If you conclude because you want to create it, since its fun and you have a fun time making it, or even because you just want to. That should be the reason why you are making your game. Your game should be your game.You shouldn’t care that your game only has one ending, it has a similar trope like another game, it’s not a horror game, the protag looks too old or young, ect. If it fits with the story you are telling that’s all that matters. 

The real reason you want to make this game is to create your story to live, so because of this do what’s best for your story. Do what you enjoy, if you want to create a game with a cat that can talk and makes friends with a ghost. Go do it.

Don’t feel like you need to follow a set path to create your game, if you aren’t hurting anyone or bashing anyone else you should be free with your creativity.

Just please take it easy and don’t bash yourself, you are all doing an amazing job. You are all talented and amazing people which is a reason why this community is amazing, because of how much work you all put in your games. 

Please take breaks and take it easy, I also wish you all the best of luck and nothing for the best for your projects. I know you can do it!

That piece of advice about writing 500 words a day - it’s such an easy goal! Well, maybe you can’t write 500 words a day. Maybe you can only write 200 words a day. Maybe you can only write 200 words a week. Maybe it’s 50 a week. Or less. It’s okay. It’s all okay. It adds up. You’ll get there.

Let yourself be a beginner. Start something new that interests you, even if you don’t know where it will lead to. Make mistakes. It doesn’t matter how you do it, at least start.

Since the holidays are upon us, just remember to take care of yourself.

I know the holidays are hard. I know some families act worse than monsters. 

I know a lot of people don’t have anyone to rely on. 

But if you can’t do anything else, please be kind to yourself.

Sometimes what you think is, “you being whiny,” is actually you doing the necessary work to grieve for & accept what happened to you.

Ugh I should apply for this internship that’s doing interviews tomorrow but idk the etiquette for “hi can I have this internship here’s my cover letter and resume” “sorry no already hired someone” “ok well can I have the other internship here’s a new cover letter” like is that how this works?????? Help

essentially, yes! when i was in school, a cover letter was described to me as space to talk about why i’m suited to the specific position, and to tell the hiring manager that i’ve read the company mission statement/took a look at their work and projects/know the job tasks etc etc. Especially because they said they’d already hired someone, not that you were underqualified. So a new cover letter is a good way to let them know what your unique strengths for that internship are - like, talking about how you can practically apply the skills/experiences on your resume to the position. (plus they’re a pain in the ass and people value the work you put into writing not one but two, literally i hate cover letters).
