Rogue One
Alternative movie poster for Rogue One, a film directed by Gareth Edwards.
Digitally painted using a Wacom Intuos pro as main tool. Promotional pictures used as reference and stock images for textures and background elements. Although, the images inside the red bands (Deathtrooper, rebels running on the beach, U-Wing, TIE Striker fighter, AT-ACT walker), the Death Star cross section and the Imperial Star Destroyer are photographs.
I started working on this piece weeks before the film was released, painting some characters in different documents as I was finding interesting reference pictures. But I did not decide the final composition until last Thursday 15th, after watching the movie. Since then, I have worked on some secondary characters I wanted to add, and defined the final structure, color scheme, etc.

Commissioned poster for Destroy Madrid, an action sci-fi short film written and directed by Joseba Alfaro.
Year 2030. Lay (Javier Server) stands in the middle of a deserted and ravaged Plaza de Colón (Madrid) holding an assault rifle. While Lay tries to escape carrying a mysterious device, he tells us how the goverments turned their backs on the citizens and how the city became a battlefield. But to run away, he will have to face some drones that haunt him. Will he achieve the mission and return with the other survivors to give back the control to the citizens?

This year, FrikiMAD* organization invited me to join a group of artist chosen to create a collection of charity sheets for the Geek Pride day.

Commisioned poster for An Entanglement, a short film by Dylan Sandford.
Characters are digitally painted, assembled and textured in Photoshop, using images from the film as reference. I used stock photos of ink in water for the blood.
I’d seen Laura’s lovely work on a few sites and sought her out. She captured the complete aesthetic of the film, taking into account the titles and the cinematography. The end result is a poster that lives in the world of the film; foreboding, explosive and threatening. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to do it again.

This is a piece for Poster Posse 2018 Women’s History Month. They invited several artist to portray women that embody the characteristics of strong, inspirational, fun, powerful women. Whether it’s through their character, actions or words, women that have made a difference and/or continue to make a difference.
I decided to pay tribute to Dian Fossey.
It’s titled “Living Legacy” in reference to the gorillas whose survival Dian struggled to ensure. It’s not exactly a portrait of the primatologist, but a tribute to her work, her courage and her life as something that goes beyond her temporal physical presence in this world. Because her legacy still beats and it’s our responsibility to make sure it stays that way.

Submission to “Creative Brief: Gallery 2049” at PosterSpy.
This is an alternative movie poster for Blade Runner 2049, the amazing film directed by Denis Villeneuve. The idea of this poster born a few hours after I watched the movie on October 7th, 2017. I made a couple of photo-sketches in black and white, to mostly work on the composition, but I never began to draw or paint it. Other (personal) issues claimed my attention and reduced my energies.
I left the idea of making a Blade Runner 2049 poster behind, untill Poster Spy challenged the artist community with this great Creative Brief.
For me, a movie poster (an official or an alternative one) is always about the soul of the film, of the story. I try to capture it, respecting the director’s vision, and to depict my view as consistently as possible. This is the result.
As always, this’ been painted digitally using a Wacon Intuos pro, with promotional pictures and concept art as reference, plus stock photos for textures.
