“I wait nervously as I stand between platforms 9 and 10. Taking a deep breath, I walk slowly toward the wall and break into a run. I pause to admire every column, luggage, unknown face that surrounds me and all this excites me. The moment I am about to touch the wall, I falter but do not stop. Instead of hitting hard, I pass right through the wall and end up at a very busy platform with parents and their children. A sign on a nearby pillar says platform 9 ¾. I walk toward the train with my luggage and heave them on board. The train is huge with a lot of compartments and a lot of people. I stop at a compartment with only three people in it, I push open the door gently and find my new friends. A girl with sand-colored hair smiles at me embarrassed and makes room for me next to her. In front of us is a bright-eyed boy looking out the window and greeting his parents. I hear in the distance the sweets cart coming and I put my hand in my pocket to grab some galleons and buy candy all tastes plus one. The bright-eyed boy buys some chocolates and find a living card of Harry Potter, the most powerful Auror in the world. His eyes light up even brighter and he exclaims incomprehensible words. Me and the girl next to me start to laugh. The whistle of the train conductor make me gasp. The train begins to move slowly and noisily. With my heart beating fast, I prepare to live the most beautiful of adventures.”

Good morning potterheads ‍♀️,

today begins a new year at Hogwarts school of Witchcrafts andWizardry and Merlin only knows how much I wish I had received my letter of admission, but I believe that the owl that was supposed to bring it was lost along with Errol. ✉

Nevertheless, I am fully in the mood to take a nice mental journey between the columns of King’sCross, with hand luggage and my head in the clouds.

If I have time, I will do a bulletjournaling Hogwarts themed and I’ll publish it later.

Since the sorting hat sorted me in Slytherin, I create a self-made outfit for the slytherin house aesthetic. Hope you like it.

I wish you a good start to the year and remember, Hogwarts will always give a helping hand to those who deserve it.

Slytherin harry au where he doesn’t meet Ron or hermione on the train and cant make any friends in slytherin bc draco is a dick. Then, during second year, he runs into luna and they become bffs. This leads to a lot of shenanigans as harry becomes very confused on how much of what luna talks about is or isn’t real.

50% minimum of the events in his second year are just him being confused about what is and isn’t real. Not because of luna, he was only minorly confused with luna. He was constantly confused because of the twins. They had seen him and luna have a typical conversation and decided it was their new favorite thing. So they basically start playing two truths and a lie with him every day.

Neville becomes the grounding presence in his life. Neville is not very good at traditional learning and tends to default to what other people say, but when he is asked about somthing he’s interested in he’s very good at explaining it.

Also I’d like to add Agusta (Neville’s grandmother) being like, a flipped version of molly. She is usually seen as worse than molly but really they do a lot of the same things. So she is super strict and traditional but very steadfast in how she cares. She takes in harry for the summers when neville brings up concerns he has about him. She is very loyal to Dumbledore, so she listens when he tells her he has to stay at the Dudley’s. But she only listens. she then permits harry to go back for twenty- four hours at the beginning of each summer but no more.

MYTHtery: Luna And Neville Were a Couple

Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom get together after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

EVIDENCE

It’s the question that a lot of us have had on our minds for a while, and it’s a good one. Of course, at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Neville admitted to liking Luna more than a friend, but we never really find out what happens after the franchise ends.

In the books, Neville and Luna were never a thing; it was only ever hinted at in the films. As Harry and Neville run past each other, Neville confesses to Harry that he’s “mad for her” and that now was as good a time as ever to tell her since we’ll probably be “dead by morning.” Luckily both Neville and Luna survive the Battle of Hogwarts, and the last time we see them, they’re shuffling closer together on the steps of the Great Hall.

Neville and Luna were always great friends throughout their time at Hogwarts. They were in the same friendship group, joined Dumbledore’s Army together, and stayed consistent friends right through to their last year at Hogwarts.

In their seventh year in the books, Luna was kidnapped by the Death Eaters and held hostage at Malfoy Manor. After Dobby helps her escape, she recovers at the Weasley’s Aunt Muriel’s, and Neville sends for her using one of the Galleons that Hermione originally gave to DA members. This once again proves how strong their friendship is, as Neville wanted to let Luna know when Harry was coming so they could both risk their lives fighting for what’s right.

We know, from the Nineteen Years Later chapter, that Neville became a Herbology Professor at Hogwarts, and rightly so since his passion for the subject is evident throughout the whole series. We also know through interviews with J.K. Rowling that Luna and Neville did end up growing apart since Luna married Rolf Scamander, the grandson of Newt Scamander. Neville ended up marrying Hannah Abbott, a fellow Hogwarts student and Hufflepuff prefect.

Luna and Neville are definitely a fan favorite couple, and so many people wish they’d ended up together. There is one person that knew the couple wouldn’t end up together, and that person is Evanna Lynch, who actually played Luna. She told US Weekly:

“I see it more as a wartime romance. I think it was all the moments. I think everyone’s caught up in the trauma and the idea that they might die, and they were fighting for an honorable cause. They were just like, ‘I quite like you, and let’s see, and maybe we’ll die, and this will be beautiful.’ But I think that ended and then they both survived. And I think they’d probably both realized, you know, this is not quite right. I think Neville is probably a little too down to earth for Luna. He wants to have a stable job at Hogwarts. And Luna is a bit too kooky and out there for him and she wants to go out and travel the world. And their lifestyles just wouldn’t mix. So that’s how I see it.”

Unfortunately, as much as we all wanted Neville and Luna to be endgame, the evidence points towards them not ending up as a couple.

Why Harry and Luna Have Been My Biggest Role Models

CONTENT WARNING: This article contains mentions of child abuse and may be triggering to readers who are abuse survivors.

I was first introduced to the Harry Potter series when I was about five years old. At first glance, we see a kid live through hardship after hardship. We see his joy, and we see his pain. We watch him learn and grow. We tell each other that this is a story of love and friendship through dark times. While this is all true, there are many more layers hidden between the pages.

It’s often joked about how we read a book series and then adopt it into our personalities for a few months afterward. However, I have found this to be true, and I believe there’s a reason for it. We are surrounded by influences as we live and grow throughout life. They help mold us. Every time we open a book, we find pieces of the person we want to be. We find role models and are inspired by their courage, loyalty, and love.

It can be difficult to acknowledge your pain while you are still living through it. When it is the norm for you, and you don’t know any different. It was not always easy for me to admit that I had a tough childhood. I had a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, and food on the table. I should be grateful, right? But as I have gotten older and have been able to separate myself from those in my past, it’s been easier for me to see what my life was really like. I had a roof over my head that smelled like cigarettes. I had a bed crammed into a filthy, messy room. I had half-rotten food in the fridge and stacks of moldy dishes in the sink.

I wasn’t given the opportunity to be a child. I was the youngest in the house and in charge of monitoring blood sugars. I was scrubbing at those dishes and shying away from the ants and spiders that infested the kitchen. And eventually, I was running about helplessly throwing water at our burning house. But as a child, when you have a parental figure telling you that they love you and that things will eventually get better, you have no choice but to believe them.

I often find myself thinking about the ten years Harry spent living with the Dursleys before the story really started. How long did he believe that things would get better? How long did he wake up hoping that today would be the day things turn around? How long did he look at his living condition and think that this was okay?

I was more fortunate than most kids who have experienced neglect. Like Harry, I had an escape. I could go and visit my father and stepmother. I could stay in a clean house, sleep in a comfortable bed, and have fourth helpings of food at each meal. I was tucked into bed and had bedtime stories read to me. It was here that I was first introduced to the Harry Potterseries.

Despite all my heartache living in my part-time, Dursley-ish home, I never allowed myself to become hateful. Harry taught me that you could survive abuse and still love and care for others. So I’d share what food I had with my friends. I’d help others with their homework. I’d listen to my friends rant about their struggles, and I’d offer up suggestions from the solution-based mindset I had adopted. I made it my goal to be a drop of light in other peoples’ lives, and I am happier for it.

Entering middle school and later high school, I was faced with a whole new problem: I knew how to love others, but I could not love myself. I still felt unworthy of love. I felt awkward and judged. I was often bullied by others for being a nerd and reading the Harry Potter books over and over again. I was far from being a “cool” kid. I had learned all I could from Harry, so it was time to search for a new role model. Someone who could hold my hand and tell me that it’s okay to be different. Someone who could tell me that it’s not only okay to love myself but that I actually deserve it. And that’s when Luna came into my life.

If Luna ever cared about people sniggering behind her back, she never showed it. She has a strength I will always admire. She’s quirky, different, creative, and proud of it. She doesn’t shy away from standing out in a crowd. She’ll let personal insults roll right off her back, but if anyone ever insults those she loves, she instantly becomes a fierce protector.

With Luna as my inspiration, I learned to acknowledge the things I love to do. I love reading and writing. I love being creative and finding solutions to challenges. I love being a leader and guiding others. I love helping others. Luna will not be my last role model. I still have much to learn, and I will continue to learn and grow for the remainder of my life so that I can become the best person I can be.

AsHarry Potter fans, we have all bonded to the story in our own ways. Maybe we see a part of ourselves amongst the pages. Maybe we identify with characters. Or perhaps we escape into this far-away world when our own life gets too difficult. No matter the reason we take comfort in this story, we all come out having learned the same thing: love is our most powerful ally.
