callmemaybeee:

Gonna do my Encanto hcs because I can and feel like it.

Disclaimer: I am white, and I’m trying my very best not to take away from the culture of the movie with these. I don’t have these hcs because I want representation, I just think I see these traits in these characters and this is all for fun blah blah blah you know the drill.

Isabela:

- I’m thinking lesbian. I feel like most people have explained this one to death but the rundown is basically she just Gives Those Vibes + comphet

- autistic!!! What Else Can I Do tells the story of a girl learning to unmask so clearly. Also Isabela’s whole perfect persona gives big masking vibes. Idk I just think it’s neat.

- gifted kid burnout /hj

Dolores:

- autistic once again!! Her sensory overload is a MOOD and there’s a lot of fun stuff to play with there. Told a guy “you talk so loud” as a compliment.

Mirabel:

- adhd and autism. She very much has a “thinking out loud” personality. Special interest in sewing!! Always moving, sensory seeking.

- I don’t have a specific sexuality hc for her but I feel like she’s mspec.

Pepa:

- autistic! She strokes her braid to calm down/as a stim, emotional dystrguation, and also I just think Pepa and Dolores both being autistic is neat. Also people not understanding how to handle her emotions.

- as a friend pointed out, there’s a lot of overlap between ASD and BPD, and I think Pepa slides right into that sweet spot.

Camilo:

- gay, but specifically the brand of gay that only a theatre boy can be.

- questioning his gender hardcore, but not quite there yet. Not totally cis tho.

- Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. No further comment.

Family: |Part 1| |Part 2|

Inspired by Smash into Pieces “Stay”

Days without Sam hadn’t been easy. In fact, they were terribly hard on your emotional and mental state. Your daughter, who was far wiser than her age, found you crying many nights. You missed your husband and your daughter missed her father. The only connection you had with the Native American was his text messages, love letters full of apology in his wish to atone for how badly he hurt you.

Lily’s questions about her father’s whereabouts grew scarce over the weeks. She missed him, he had never before been away for so long. There was no doubt in your mind that no matter what the future brought for Sam and you, he had a bottomless fountain of love for his little girl. And you always made sure she knew that.

It was almost two months later when he called you. Deciding it was time to stop moping in your own hate, you answered. The line was silent, he hadn’t expected it.
“I need to see you…”
Tears uncontrollably fell down your cheeks, but you inhaled sharply and allowed him to continue. You didn’t trust your voice to not betray the turmoil within you.
“I’ll come wherever you want me to… But I need to see you, I need to see Lily. Please…”
Licking your lips, you exhaled; “Forks. On the beach… In two days.”
“Alri-”
You hung up on him before he could fully reply, mentally unprepared for the meeting. Lily was in daycare, you were alone in the house. You had never felt so alone before, dread making you curl up on the floor. You still loved Sam so much.

You hadn’t told Lily you were going to visit Forks to see her father. Your mother’s cousin was willing to watch over her for a few hours, having a child of her own about the same age as Lily. It would keep the little girl occupied in your absence. You dropped her off with a big kiss, telling her to play nice. The road to First Beach was long and winding, the scenery peaceful. The GPS took you the long way around, getting you stuck in the mud. Hitting the steering wheel in frustration, you think what else could go wrong today. Stepping out into the mud, you sink with your sneaker even further in. Grabbing your purse, you fish through it for your phone. It starts to ring just as you grab it, with Sam’s caller ID on the screen.
“Yeah, am nearby… I think? The car is stuck in the mud.”
“I’ll find you, stay there.”
“Do I call AAA?”
“No, just wait for me.”

Sighing, you hang up and enjoy the serene silence of the forest, not having felt so at peace for a long time. Attempting to move from your spot in the mud, you realise that you can lose your shoes in the process, which frustrates you even further. It’s fifteen minutes later when you hear rustling nearby, your eyes falling on Sam and one of his friends. They’re both without shirts. A sight you had long forgotten how it made you feel when you saw Sam naked. He smirks when he sees your jaw drop slightly, but is quickly reminded of your broken relationship as you avert your gaze. He approaches you and sees you’re stuck as well.
“Need help?”
“I tried, I’ll lose my shoes.”
He rolls his eyes and wraps an arm around your torso, hoisting you into the air. His other arm goes underneath your knees to hoist you up bridal style. A surprised squeal leaves your lips, your arms going around his neck quickly.
“I’ve got you, princess.”
“T-thank you…”

Sam gently sets you down onto the forest floor and cups your cheeks, your beautiful doe-eyes on him.
“Remember the secret I told you?” You nod. “Paul’ll get your car out.”
Shifting your eyes to the noise behind Sam, they go wide in shock and awe as you watch a giant wolf lean against the car’s front bumper. Only a slight nudge and it’s back on solid ground.
“Wow… That’s… Oh wow, he’s beautiful.”
You walk past him towards the wolf with silver fur whose brown eyes look at you mindfully. Sliding a hand into his fur, you chuckle in disbelief. Sam clears his throat, jealousy evidently pouring from him.
“Oh my God, Sam… This- this is you? I mean- I mean, you’re like this too?”

You cup the giant wolf’s cheeks and you giggle as you squish them gently. His ears lower in discomfort as his eyes meet that of a jealous Alpha. You straighten your back and look at Sam with a serious expression.
“So much for our picnic…”
“Where’s Lily?”
“I left her at Laura’s house… She doesn’t know why we came to Forks.”
Glancing at the car, “wanna lead me to First Beach?”

The two of you sit on a blanket, the sun slightly peeking through the grey clouds up above. The waves softly crash onto the sand.
“So why did you want to see me?”
You hug your knees and look at him, the breeze playing with your hair.
“I… I thought you would be around forever, no matter what. I started taking you for granted. If I could turn back time and change my life, get another chance to make things right… I’d let you know, I want you to stay…”
Tears fall at the sweet revelation of his feelings, but you still don’t know what it meant for your family. You lick your lips and sniff, Sam’s bloodshot eyes looking at you regretfully.
“In my dreams, we’re still together. Everything is like one big, happy ending. But then I wake up and it’s all gone…”
“Sam… I want you to stay, too. But I can’t handle your secrets. I can’t handle the blame you put on me for escaping the life you have with us. I don’t deserve it, Lily doesn’t deserve it.”

He nods and wipes his eyes quickly, never wanting to show his vulnerable side to anyone. He moves his body sideways, closer to yours, taking your hand in his.
“I don’t deserve you, but I… I need you. And I know you need me, too. I’m asking for one more try. For our family’s sake. I love you.”
“I love you, too.”

The two of you share a chaste kiss, the kind of kiss through which all your emotions are presented. From pain to loneliness to the love between you. The love for each other, for your family, and the future that could be. Sam then explains how losing you caused his wolf to reject Emily completely, something that has never happened in the tribe’s history.
“Does that mean that your first marriage…”
“It’s annulled. You’re my only wife.”
“But I’m not your imprint… What if you find-”
His lips quiet your doubts and he smiles, “my wolf only wants you. I only want you.”
“Sam…”
“I’m so much better with you around. Stay with me.”

Sam leads you back to La Push where you informed Laura to bring Lily. You see the older woman talking to some of the other adults, Lily holding onto her leg in fear. She turns her head at the sound of the familiar engine, her eyes growing big when she sees her father.
“Daddy!”
She stumbles through grass and dirt, running towards the two of you. Sam hoists her up in a tight hug, tears falling from your eyes once more.

You’re willing to try again. If not for your sake, then your family’s.

Loki side-eyes him and says, “You won’t need to.”

Positives from tonight’s episode, a Merluca shippers perspective:

•Merluca has a cute surgery opener

•Meredith still really isn’t INTO Link, she just doesn’t dislike him

•She didn’t come close to kissing Link, at all.

•From this episode, their vibe is more friend like, yay!

NEGATIVE POINT:

•I get that you were being polite while you had company and you just had a house full of 5 year olds but come on Meredith! Your man just flew on his first solo surgery flawlessly. Yay Andrew DeLuca!

“I’m not going to fight you y/n; you can fight this!”

“Personally; I like the disease. Sentiment has always been and will ultimately be your downfall Captain”

“Then I’ll fall, as long as I have you with me till my last breath”

“(Y/n), look, I’m sorry-”

“No, shut up and listen to me for one minute! If you want to go out and take on an unnecessary suicide mission, by all means, go right ahead. You need to remember it’s not just your life you’re ending here, though! It’s mine too, because if you die Tony… I don’t know how I’d go on”

“Cas, cut the shit”

“Eggs are so delicate and fragile; much like how my father built you humans”

“Ok, I get the point; you’re angry with me and have decided to take our your pent up rage on the poor, defenseless egg; if you had really wanted the last poptart though, you really should have hid it better!”

Toni gets injured on the island and Reader is worried about her.

********************

Warnings: Mentions of injuries

**********************

Tensions on the island today were running high and everyone was feeling it. It was if everyone was just one wrong move away from completely snapping and, of course, the first to break was Toni.

“Where are you going?” You ran after her as she made a beeline for the forest. She didn’t turn around, shaking her head in anger.

“I can’t listen to Shelby anymore.” She said over her shoulder. “The girl has a superiority complex and it’s driving me mad.”

“Toni, you can’t go into the forest on your own.” You tried to grab her arm to stop her but she shook you off.

“Just leave it, Y/N. I’ll be fine.”

That had been half an hour ago and she still hadn’t returned. You sat on the sand next to Martha, wringing your hands anxiously. Martha gave you a reassuring smile.

“She’ll be OK, Y/N. You know her. She’s tough.”

“Yeah, she’s also stubborn and does things without thinking.” You pointed out. “She should be back now.”

You’d come on the trip with Toni and Martha, having been best friends with both of them since you were kids. It was only in the last year or so that you’d begun to realise your feelings for her. If anything happened to her while you were stuck here, you weren’t sure what you’d do.

As if hearing your thoughts, you heard a voice from behind you. “Guys, I need some help.”

Twisting around, you saw Toni limping out of the forest, a nasty gash on her leg. She stumbled a little and instantly you were on your feet, running over to help her.

“Jesus, Toni! What the hell happened?” You asked as you put her arm around your neck, helping her down onto the sand. Martha hurried over to check on her.

“I’ll go and find Dot, I think she has some medical supplies.” She said before scurrying away. You knelt down in front of Toni, examining the injury.

“What did you do?” You demanded.

She sighed. “I just caught it on a loose piece of tree bark. It’s not a big deal.”

“It could have been a lot worse.” You told her, glancing up at her with an icy expression. “I told you not to go into the forest alone.”

“Why are you getting so upset?” She shot back. “I’m fine.”

You felt tears pricking in your eyes, more out of anger than sadness. “I’m upset because I was worried about you, Toni! I care about you, and when you do stupid stuff like this it’s me who suffers most because you don’t seem to care at all.”

Toni was silent for a moment as she processed your words. She blinked a couple of times before she giggled. You glared at her. “Are you seriously laughing right now?”

“I’m sorry.” She replied. “That’s just the first time I’ve heard you get properly annoyed. It took me by surprise.”

You sighed. “Yeah, well, we’re stuck on this island and things are a little tense. It was inevitable I was going to lose my temper eventually.”

“You’ve never said anything like that before. How long have we known each other? Why have you never said anything?”

You shrugged. “I wasn’t sure you’d feel the same.”

Toni gave you a small smile before reaching out for your hand, wrapping her pinky finger around yours. “Promise me, no more secrets. We need to be totally open with each other.”

You grinned, your hands remaining. “OK, Toni. I like you.”

“I like you too, Y/N. I have for ages.”

You sat like that for a few minutes before you blinked, remembering the current situation. “We should probably get that leg cleaned up. I’ll go find Dot.” You stood.

“Martha’s gone to find her. Please can you just stay here?”

You chuckled. “I think that’s the most sentimental thing you’ve ever said. Has the blood loss gone to your head?”

“Possibly.” She said, pulling you back down to sit next to her in the sand. “Can you just stay?”

“OK, fine.” You caved in.

Buy me a coffee?

Reader makes Kaz his favourite dessert when he is angry or stressed.

********************

You had become the resident baker amongst the Crows. Baking was always something you loved to do and, of course, when Nina found out you could make waffles from scratch, she excitedly told everyone else. Thus you claimed the title.

In turn, you discovered each of their favourite desserts so you knew what to make them if they were having a bad day and needed cheering up. Nina was easy, waffles were her one true love. Jesper loved ice-cream, Inej loved cupcakes, Wylan was a pie guy and Matthias enjoyed some cheesecake. Kaz was the last person for you to figure out, he was so often locked away in his office that it was rare he ever ventured into the kitchen when you were making something. However, it just so happened that one day he appeared when you were making your famous chocolate cake. You offered him some and he begrudgingly accepted, however it wasn’t hard to tell that he enjoyed it. Which you used to your advantage from then on.

Like on this very occasion.

“He’s at it again.” Jesper remarked as he walked into the kitchen where you and Inej sat. You raised an eyebrow in question. “Pacing back and forth in his office. It’s all I can hear. I think I’m going mad.”

Inej looked to you. “He’s stressed about this upcoming job. The plans of the building show there’s only one way in and there’s a specific lock he’s never dealt with before.”

“Yeah, but this is Kaz.” You replied. “He could pick any lock in the world with his eyes closed.”

“I think this job is giving him more trouble than he’d like to admit.”

As if hearing his name, Kaz suddenly appeared in the doorway, leaning on his cane. He nodded to Inej. “I need your help going over the plans again for the job next week.”

Inej sighed. “But Kaz, we scoured those plans all morning. Surely if there was another way in, we’d have found it by now.”

“We have to keep looking.” He argued. His hair was bedraggled from all the times he’d run his hair through it and he was clutching his cane. You sighed and stood up.

“Kaz, sit down.” You told him. He glanced at you and frowned.

“What?”

“I said sit down.” You repeated, making your way over to the cupboard to fetch your ingredients. “You probably haven’t eaten anything all day. Now, I know chocolate cake isn’t the healthiest but I also know it’s your favourite and you could do with a break.”

You heard him audibly sigh. “Y/N, I don’t have time to sit down and eat cake. I have work to do.”

“You heard Inej. You’ve been studying the plans all day, you need to relax.” You said, not turning around. You set about mixing the ingredients.

“Yes, but-”

“Kaz Brekker, will you sit down and let me make you some cake?” You ordered, putting on your best voice of authority. It wasn’t often you raised your voice and Kaz raised his eyebrows in surprise. However, after a moment, he sat down at the table. Inej cast a smirk your way and you grinned triumphantly.

When the cake was ready, you put a piece in front of Kaz before hanging some to the other two after some protesting. You handed him a fork and, after a moment of glowering, he caved in and took a bite. He didn’t let on but he finished the entire piece, letting you know you'e done a good job.

After he’d finished, you gave him a reassuring smile. “You’ll figure this lock out, Kaz. You always do. I have complete faith in you. But just maybe, for today, you should take a step back from scheming?”

His gaze met yours for a moment and he nodded in appreciation. “Thank you, Y/N.” He glanced down at the plate in front of him. “Any chance of another piece?”

You grinned and stood up. “Anything for you, Brekker.”

Buy me a coffee?

Reader is in the room with Kaz when Pekka’s men come for him.

*********************

A/N: I’m so sorry you had to wait so long for this, I had a little crisis of confidence but I really hope you enjoy this!

****************************

Warnings: Violence, panic attacks

*************************

“You have a plan, don’t you?” You asked Kaz as you tried your best to sort the mess on his desk. His office always became more disheveled when his mind was racing, trying to plan a job. “To cross the Fold, I mean?”

“I’m working on it.” He replied from the other side of the room, staring out the window. He ran a hand through his hair, sighing. You hated seeing him like this.

“I know you snapped at Inej.” You told him. “Kaz, I know you’re stressed but lashing out at the people closest to you won’t help.”

He turned to look at you, a hint of regret in his eyes. You were the only person he ever truly let his guard down around and you knew he hadn’t meant what he said to Inej. He nodded. “I know.” Then a small smirk played on his lips. “You always know how to put me right, Y/N.”

“Yeah, that’s why you love me.” You pushed away from the chair and folded your arms, giving him a triumphant grin. It was then that you heard it, the faint creak in the floorboards. The two of you shared a glance, both jumping to the same conclusion. Kaz nodded once.

“Inej, listen…” He began as he turned around. However, he stopped short when he saw who it actually was. You took a tentative step forward as the unfamiliar men slowly surrounded Kaz.

You watched as Kaz assessed the situation quickly before attempting to disarm the man closest to him. However, the man was quicker and threw a punch, disorienting him. In a matter of seconds, they had Kaz on his knees. It was then their commander showed themself, stepping into the room and the panic was clear on Kaz’s face. Pekka Rollins.

“Kaz!” You exclaimed, trying to move forward to help but one of the men stopped you, twisting your arm behind you and holding you tightly so you couldn’t move. You cried out in pain.

Kaz clenched his jaw. “Don’t touch them.” He seethed, struggling against the grip of the men. Pekka strode over to him, shaking his head.

“Relax, Brekker, is it?” He spoke. “We won’t hurt them, just so long as you comply with us.”

“Kaz, don’t.” You interjected before the man holding you tightened his grip, shutting you up. Kaz’s eyes flickered over to you briefly, pain evident on his face. You couldn’t tell if it was because of you or matter of the physical contact. You suspected it was a bit of both. His gaze returned to Rollins.

“You’re a long way from home.” Kaz said and you swore inwardly. Even outnumbered and faced with his greatest nemesis, he still had to be smart. Pekka raised an eyebrow.

“Like you were earlier?” He countered. “When you took a Grisha from the Orchid?”

“The Orchid isn’t Dime Lions turf.” Kaz shot back as Pekka sat down in front of him.

“There’s a new acquisition. You heard it here first.” Pekka said as one of his men tossed Kaz’s cane to him. Kaz tried to lurch forward but the man held him in place. Something about it made you angry as well. That cane was part of Kaz and seeing the one person he hated the most holding it didn’t sit right with you. “I know you saw Dreesen, got a jump on whatever job he has. I don’t want the details, just that you have a little travel hazard. So, here’s the deal, you can walk away from it, I’ll tell Dreesen I’m taking over for you. Then we’re even.”

“Not even close.” Kaz replied, anger dripping from his voice. He glanced to you again, only quickly. It was hard not to, you were his weakness and seeing you like this only made him more furious.

“Hang on.” Pekka told him. “The other option is,” he leaned forward and hooked the cane around Kaz’s neck. Kaz’s face contorted in pain, which only fueled your own anger. “I carve your face in with your own cane and dump your body in the harbour.”

“You bastard.” You exclaimed, trying to break out of the man’s death grip. You knew the weight of his words on Kaz’s shoulders and it made you see red. It was a total low-blow.

Pekka almost smiled. “That first option sounds better now, doesn’t it?” He remarked as he moved the cane away and stood up.

“Tell me,” Kaz said before he walked away. “Have we ever made a deal before?” You half-hoped he hadn’t asked. Pekka would only find a way to increase his torment.

“You and me?” Pekka mused. “No. Otherwise you’d know better. Or you’d be dead.” He spat, before turning and walking out. His men threw Kaz to the floor and the one holding you shoved you forward. You managed to grab the table to stop yourself from falling.

As soon as they were gone, you ran over to Kaz, kneeling down in front of him where he crouched on the floor. It broke your heart to see him like this, like a scared child. His fists were clenched on the floor in front of him and his breathing was ragged.

“Kaz?” You spoke softly. “Look at me, please.”

It took him a moment but eventually he looked up, his eyes meeting yours. Fear and pain danced in his eyes and your stomach clenched. You felt like murdering Pekka for reducing him to such a state.

“It’s OK. They’ve gone. It’s just me.”

You knew any physical touch would like make things worse but it seemed just the sound of your voice was enough to bring Kaz back down to earth. His breathing began to calm and he straightened up, assessing you.

“Did they hurt you? If they did, I’ll kill them.”

“No, I’m OK, I’m OK.” You assured him. “I promise.”

He shook his head. “He didn’t recognise me, Y/N. He doesn’t remember me. Or Jordie.”

You sighed at his words. You were one of the only ones who Kaz had confided in about his brother, which was how you knew exactly what seeing Pekka Rollins meant to him. You tried to muster a small smile of assurance.

“I’m sorry, Kaz. If I could, I’d go after him right now and make him pay for the things he’s done to you.”

Kaz met your gaze, satisfaction in his eyes. “We’ll both make him pay.” He said and you knew exactly what he meant.

“You aren’t taking his deal?”

“I never make decisions out of fear. Only out of spite.” He said as he pushed up from the ground. You chuckled.

“Wise words, Brekker.” You joked.

“Come on.” He said to you. “We need to come up with a plan to cross the Fold. We should find the others.”

“Are you sure you’re up to it?” You asked, standing as well. “That was quite an ordeal.”

“I’ll be fine.” He turned to you. “I know I will be as long as you’re around to help me out of scrapes.”

“You don’t have to worry about that. I’m not going anywhere, Brekker.”

Buy me a coffee?

Back To That Night

Pin reminisces over the first day he met Y/N after realising he wants to spend the rest of his life with them.

*******************

Based on ‘In Love With Your Soul’ by The Collection

***************************

Pin was nervous, more so than usual whenever he was around you. He jiggled his leg in a constant rhythm as his hand crept to the breast pocket of his shirt for the fiftieth time since he’d sat down. He checked his watch. You should be there in about five minutes, you were never late. Dates with Pin were your favourite time. You just had no idea how significant this one would be.

Sure enough, on the dot there was a knock on the door and Pin all but leapt up from the table, hurrying over to open it. You stood on the doorstep, a massive smile on your face despite the pouring rain outside. Pin ushered you inside and took your soaking wet jacket from your shoulders.

“I’m not late, am I?” You asked. “Sorry, I decided to walk here instead of riding and then I got caught in the storm.” You held your hands up, shaking your head. “Absolute nightmare.”

“No, you’re fine. You’re actually perfect.” Pin replied with a grin.

You turned and saw the beautiful set-up in front of you. Pin hadn’t held back. He’d been so busy lately with duties at the castle and you’d been busy with your new job at the stables, this was the first time in ages you’d been able to spend time together and he wanted it to be special. He’d made your favourite dinner and cleaned the place top to bottom.

“Pin.” You gasped. “This looks so good. What’s the occasion?”

“Just an excuse to spend time with my favourite person.” He told you. A half-truth. “Shall we?”

You both sat down at the table and you couldn’t help but laugh lightly. Pin raised an eyebrow in question. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. Just the chaos of getting here, it sort of reminded me of the first night we met.”

It was like you had read his mind completely. Pin grinned like an idiot, reaching over to take your hand which was resting on the tabletop. “Yeah, I was thinking about that too. The rain, the drama, it takes me right back to that night.”

“I’m still so glad it happened. Otherwise we might not be here right now.”

It was true. Pin had never stopped being grateful for that night. It was like fate had put you right where you needed to be.

***

You’d only just moved onto the island and you barely knew anyone yet. Your father had worked at a stables on the mainland and now had business with Holloway. You were yet to find out about the rivalry with Bright Fields, the place that would become your second home. However, on that September night, it was just you and your horse, Faith.

You’d wanted to go riding and familiarise yourself with the area but you hadn’t anticipated the harsh weather to come. When you first rode out, it was just some light drizzle but before long, it turned into a torrential downpour. Since you didn’t properly know the island yet, you got turned about and promptly lost your way.

This is bad, Faith.” You spoke to the mare as you led her along the beach. The rain was even worse here being so close to the sea. Your clothes were soaked through and you were shivering. If you weren’t able to find shelter soon, you worried you might catch hypothermia or something.

And then, as if the universe had heard your thoughts, you saw the twinkling lights of a house on top of the hill. Of course, there was no way of knowing who you might find up there but at that point, you weren’t in a position to be fussy. You led Faith up the hill towards the lights. It was the best decision you ever made.

“It’s OK, girl.” You reassured her as you made your way up the path. “Hopefully whoever lives here can help us out of the storm.”

You reached the top to find a ramshackle little house with a few shipping containers outside, along with a bunch of tools and some hay. Apparently whoever lived here also kept horses. You left Faith to graze while you went to the door and knocked a couple of times.

You heard footsteps inside and then the door was opening and a young boy, about the same age as you, was peering out. You must have looked a state in your bedraggled clothes but you gave him your best smile nonetheless.

“Hi.” You said to him. “I’m so sorry to bother you. I’m new to the island and me and my horse…” You motioned to Faith. “We got a little lost. I hate to ask only it’s raining and it’s getting dark. Do you think I could use your phone?”

The boy smiled and shook his head. “You do seem to be in quite the situation.” Even in your rain-soaked state, he couldn’t help but note the twinkle in your eyes, there was something about you. He just didn’t know what it was yet. “Come in. I’m Pin, by the way.”

“Pin.” You repeated with a nod. “I think you might just be my hero. Thank you. I’m Y/N.” You stepped inside, glad to finally be out of the rain. You expected him to shut the door but he made to go outside.

“I can put your horse in the stable along with mine, save her being out in the rain. What’s her name?”

“Faith.” You told him. “Are you sure? I hate to impose.”

“It’s no problem.” He assured you. “Elvis will be glad of the company.”

Just go careful, she can be a little skittish around new people.”

“Don’t worry, I’m good with horses.” He stepped outside and slowly made his way over to Faith. You were struck by his gentleness as he carefully took her reins and led her around the back to where his barn was. A minute later, he reappeared and closed the door. “Phone’s through here.”

You made a call to your parents, letting them know you were safe and where you were. Your father confirmed he would drive over to get you, which left you waiting out the minutes with Pin.

“So,” you made conversation as you both sat at the table. The moonlight illuminated your face and something about it made Pin’s breath catch in his throat. “You ride too?”

“Yeah.” Pin nodded. “I’ve been riding since I was a kid.”

Me too.” You replied. “Something about it, there’s just something so...”

“Freeing?” Pin suggested and your eyes lit up.

Exactly. I can’t imagine my life without horses. Especially Faith.”

Have you enrolled at a stables yet?” He asked you.

Not yet.” You answered. “But my dad has a new job at Holloway, that’s why we moved here, so I guess I’ll be starting there.”

Holloway have a competitive application process, you know.”

You shrugged. “I like my chances.”

Pin shook his head. “You shouldn’t go to Holloway. You should go to Bright Fields.

Bright Fields?”

“It’s the other island stables. Not as prestigious as Holloway, but a nicer atmosphere. And it’s where I work.”

You chuckled. “Hoping to see me more often?” You joked but you didn’t miss a faint blush creep up on him.

“I wouldn’t hate it.” He admitted.

You smiled before glancing up at the clock on the wall. Pin was avoiding it. He was enjoying your company and the ticking hand felt like it was going too fast. Your eyes strayed to a family photo on the wall.

Are those your parents?” You asked, nodding towards the picture. He followed your gaze.

Yeah.” He replied. “My dad just went out to grab some essentials. He should be back soon.”

And your mum?”

Pin shifted in his seat, his face falling slightly.“She left us when I was five.”

“Oh.” Your face softened. “I’m sorry. That’s…that’s rough.”

“It was a long time ago. And I’ve got my dad.” He said but you could see the pain in his eyes. You sighed lightly and leaned forward.

“You know, in my experience, when people we love leave us, we look for reasons to blame ourselves. But we shouldn’t do that. The blame doesn’t lie with us.”

Pin looked at you, then and it was like there was some kind of deep understanding between the two of you. He smiled. “Thank you.”

You were interrupted by the sound of an engine outside and you both hurried over to the window. You recognised your father’s car, pulling the horse box behind for Faith. You took a step back, not realising Pin was so close behind. He placed his hands either side of you to stop you from stumbling. You felt a jolt of electricity.

“Sorry.” You said as you righted yourself.

“It’s fine. I’ll go and get Faith for you.” He said, making for the back door.

I’ll come with you.” You followed him out the door and around the back to a rickety old barn. Faith was tied up next to a golden brown stallion who she seemed to be getting along with. You chuckled. “This must be Elvis.”

He’s been my horse for such a long time. I can’t imagine riding any other.”

Yeah, I know what you mean. I’m at my best riding Faith.”

“I’d really like to see you ride some time.” Pin told you, to which you gave him a mischevious grin.

“Well, I’m sure you can when I see you at the stables.” You said as you untied Faith and began leading her out. “I’ll see you at Bright Fields.”

“You’re not going to Holloway?”

“Hmm,” you tilted your head. “I guess something changed my mind.”

You led Faith back around, leaving Pin in the barn but you looked over your shoulder, giving him one last smile. That night changed everything.

***

“I guess fate really did want me there that night.” You remarked. “Otherwise our story might never have happened.”

Pin smiled at the memory. “I think I knew right away that you were going to be important to me. Something about you caught my attention.”

You nodded. “For me, it was your kindness. I’d never met anyone with such a good heart. I don’t think I have since.”

“Even when we fight?” Pin asked.

You laughed. “Oh, I remember our fight when I thought I was losing you to Holloway. I was so scared we’d lost our way, then. I hated that.”

“Yeah, but you knew that wasn’t me. We found our way back to each other because of your strong-willed soul, refusing to let me lose myself.”

“And your kind soul.” You added. “You could tell my fear was just rooted in my love for you.”

Pin nodded at the use of that word. You’d both been eighteen when you realised you loved each other. Now, at twenty-three with your futures lying before you, he knew that it was you he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. He squeezed your hand lightly.

“I do love you, Y/N. And it’s because of that I’ve been doing a lot of thinking lately.”

You tilted your head. “OK?”

“I think I knew from that first night that there was some kind of string or rope between us, pulling us together, and it’s stood the test of time, we both know. I think it withstand an entire future together, too.”

“Where are you going with this, Pin?”

His hand strayed to his pocket again and he pulled out the tiny box, opening it to display the ring inside. Your eyes widened in surprise as he tried to remember the speech he’d rehearsed with his father.

“I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Y/N. Which is why I’m asking if you’ll make me really happy and say yes to marrying me?”

You were in complete disbelief but after a moment, you nodded. “Yes.”

“Yes?”

“Yes, Pin. I will marry you.” You laughed. The two of you stood and he threw his arms around you, swinging you around the kitchen in pure glee. “Careful, you’ll knock the table over.”

He finally set you down but continued to hold your hand. You smiled. “Thank you for asking me to marry you, Pin.”

“Thank you for saying yes.”

“We are going to have to tell the Bright Fields gang, they are going to go completely overboard.”

“Let’s maybe not tell them right away.”

“Agreed.

Buy me a coffee?

I’m Falling

Based on ‘Ocean Eyes’ by Billie Eilish

*********************

Pin had been looking at you for some time. There was something about you that drew him to you. Maybe it was the way your laugh drifted across the yard, light as a summer breeze. Maybe it was your positive energy, the way you smiled at anyone who crossed your path, making them feel as ease.

Or maybe it was your eyes.

Pin found himself looking at your eyes on more than one occasion. They were striking, beautiful, like the sun shining down upon the enigmatic ocean, catching the emerald waves. He was pretty sure if he looked too long, he would drown but it was OK with that. You were worth it.

He caught himself staring at you now when he was supposed to be unloading hay bales. He’d caught a glimpse of you across the yard, cleaning down your horse with the hose. Becky walked past and made some witty comment, making you laugh. It was like music to his ears.

He watched as you led your horse back into its stable, a smile playing on your lips. His stomach did a little flip, as it often did when he was around you. How could one person have such an effect on him? It really wasn’t fair.

“Will you just go and talk to them?” A voice startled him from his thoughts and he turned to see Zoe standing behind him, arms folded. “What’s the worst that could happen?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I don’t know, they could laugh in my face?” Pin suggested, his insecurities getting the better of him. Zoe shook her head.

“I don’t think Y/N’s capable of that.” She assured him. “Go on, just see what happens.”

Pin tilted his head in thought before responding. “Alright, maybe I will.”

He made his way over to your stable where he could hear you softly talking to your horse. As if he needed another reason to like you even more. He reached the stall door and leaned against it. You were inside, giving the horse a quick brush down.

“Hi, Y/N.” Pin said. You looked up and when you saw him, you gave him a dazzling smile that reached those gorgeous eyes. His breath caught in his throat, as if he was seeing you for the very first time.

“Hey, Pin.” You replied. “What can I do for you?”

For a moment, he forgot why he’d come over here, too caught up in your eyes that were so bright they looked like they could contain fifteen flares. He quickly composed himself and scratched the back of his neck nervously.

“I was thinking…well, I was wondering…I…” Why was this so difficult? It seemed he couldn’t form a coherent thought when he was around you. As he sighed to himself, you couldn’t help but smile at how nervous he was. You liked Pin, you really liked him, which was why you decided to take matters into your own hands.

“Do you want to go for a ride?” You asked him with a grin.

Pin seemed relieved that you appeared to have read his mind, and he nodded eagerly. “I’ll go and tack up Elvis.”

***

“So, how come it took you so long to ask me to do this?” You asked him, the two of you riding through the forest. “Or, at least, prompt me to do it.” You teased him and you could have sworn you saw him blush. Did you really make him that flustered? It was hard to believe.

“I wasn’t sure if you’d say yes.” He confessed. “I was scared of being rejected by you, I suppose.”

You shook your head in disbelief. “Did you really think there was a chance I wouldn’t say yes to you? Pin, I’ve been wanting you to ask me out for so long.”

“You have?”

“I see you looking at me sometimes and it makes me think there may be a chance you feel the same way?”

Pin couldn’t quite believe that you were here in front of him, as good as confessing you had feelings for him. How many times had he imagined you saying these things? Now it was really happening. He smiled.

“I like you, Y/N. I really like you.”

The light danced in your eyes, probably making the sun envious at how brightly they shone. He felt butterflies dancing inside.

“So, what does this mean for us now?”

“I guess we’ll find out.”

***

That had been day one in your story. Ever since you had both admitted your feelings, you’d only grown closer and things were becoming more serious. You just wanted to make things official.

The two of you were walking along the beach, hand in hand, the cool ocean breeze surrounding you and the faint sound of gulls in the distance. This was your happy place, although you knew that could be stuck in a damp dungeon and still be happy as long as Pin was there with you. You smiled and glanced over to him.

“Hey, Pin.” You said to him. He looked up at you in question. “Is it OK if I call you my boyfriend?”

A huge smile spread across his face, as if he’d been waiting for you to say that for so long. “Are you sure we’re ready for that?” He joked, to which you playfully shoved him, making him chuckle.

“Do you not want to be my boyfriend?” You pretended to be offended but it was all in jest. Pin laughed before looking at you seriously, brushing his knuckles against your cheek softly.

“I would love to be your boyfriend, Y/N. Nothing would make me happier.”

You smiled, feeling happiness wrap around you just like the cold wind that now battered you. You shivered suddenly. Pin took off his jacket and wrapped it around your shoulders.

“Come on, let’s go back to my place. I have my laptop set up, we can watch a film or something.”

“Can I choose one?” You asked him, looking at him with those ocean-wild eyes. He shook his head.

“That’s not fair. You know I can’t say no to those eyes.” He said, although you knew if it was any other way, he still would have relented to you. Pin couldn’t say no to you, you were his ultimate weakness. He put his arm around you as you walked back to his place, the two of you a complete picture of happiness.

***

Six months later and the two of you were only becoming stronger. You lay on his bed now, resting your head on his shoulder as he traced patterns into the back of your hand. It was just the two of you but that was how you liked it. Pin knew he wouldn’t have it any other way, you were the one thing he was completely sure of.

“I love you, Y/N.” He told you now, causing your head to whip up, your eyes searching his. It was like a whole other world in those eyes, like you’d made friends with time and it agreed that the brightness would never dull. Pin never thought he could feel that way about anyone, yet here you were.

“You do?” You asked.

“I do.” He nodded. “It’s a little scary how quickly I fell for you, Y/N. Since the beginning, those feelings have only gotten stronger. I’m sure I’m always going to be falling for you, a little more every day.”

His words moved something in you, deep down. Leaning forward, you pressed your lips to his, carding your hands into his hair. He reached up to cup your face with one hand, his skin warm against your cheek. When you broke apart, you rested your forehead against his, a smile playing on your lips.

“I love you too, Pin Hawthorne. I think I always will.”

As you looked up at him, your words soaking into his skin, he was struck once more by how your eyes twinkled, like diamonds shining beneath the waves of the ocean, shimmering in the sunlight. Pin was completely willing to drown in them, he knew more than anything that you were worth it.

“I thought you forgot about me.” You whispered against Edward’s lips.

“Never.” He smiled down at you as you pulled him closer.

image

“You have to stop doing that.” Sam laughed softly, shaking his head.

“What?” You asked.

“Saying things that make me want to kiss you.” He explained.

image

“Why are you hiding behind me? What did you do?” Jack asked, but got the answer when the Delanceys came running after you seconds after.

“You know they’re gonna use things you love against you.“ A sentence Dean ignored the second he fell for you, but the sentence he’d remember everyday now that you were gone.
