John the Blind falls at the Battle of Crécy
TIARA ALERT: Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg wore the Belgian Scroll Tiara for the banquet during the state visit to Portugal at Ajuda Palace on 11 May 2022.
I have long believed that this portrait by K.F. Sohn, identified by the Hermitage Museum as Grand Duchess Maria Mikhailovna of Russia, is in fact Maria’s younger sister, Grand Duchess Elizaveta Mikhailovna, Duchess of Nassau, but seeing it displayed so prominently in a palace belonging to the grand ducal family of Luxembourg (who are descendants of Elizaveta’s widower, Adolphe, Duke of Nassau) has convinced me that my hunch was correct. What do you all think?
This is not like post of my arts, it’s congratulations mostly. Sorry for my English, it’s disgusting but I just really want to say something today.
I’m sure that we should remember what is that day about. This is not “the day of beauty and spring mood”, this is regular anniversary of march for the women’s rights. This is annual mention about thousands of brave incredible women who wasn’t afraid to fight for choice and freedom. Unfortunately not all the people remember about it. In my country more than 70% of people don’t even connect this day with the struggle of suffragettes and feminists for rights and it’s really horrible.
All the women should know that we are not ‘decoration’, we are Persons, strong and talented. Don’t let someone to tell you what to do. You’re stronger than stereotypes. Thank you for existing and for your daily struggle. Be happy and let me congratulate you on the international Day of the women’s solidarity. Love you.
