@antoine-bonnet and I were very proud that ‘Un Diable dans la Poche’, the film we directed as our graduation project at Gobelins, was part of the 2020 SXSW festival official selection.
Due to COVID-19, the event was cancelled but we wanted to thank SXSW for still sharing our film ! It is now online for a limited period of time : https://mailchimp.com/presents/sxsw/un-diable-dans-la-poche

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT !!
Un Diable dans la Poche, the graduation short-film I co-directed at Gobelins with @antoine-bonnet, will be part of next year’s Berlinale Generation Kplus competition !!!
We had such a great experience making this film and are both so grateful for this incredible year.

Here’s my final work on our current school assignment. We chose a “wooden toy circus” theme with my teammates Jules&Isabela and each had a character to design based on a randomly picked adjective.
Mine was “shy” so I went for a little clown kid.
As the goal is to have a coherent whole, the three of us also did our own take on each others design (Jule’s “arrogant” tightrope walker and Isabela’s “violent” ringmaster)

I made the character design on our Annecy opening “Le Serpent Blanc”, this is the main character. I collaborated with Claire Matz on the turn around, hands and feet as she was in charge of a lot of animation for this character.

These are from one of the first versions we had in mind which included kids, dancers, a jade emperor and a very busy staff… A lot of characters that didn’t make it in the final version !

Day 4 on ciné-croquis, I felt like making 2 drawings today so here they are ! :)
First one is from “La Gloire de mon père”, an adaption of Marcel Pagnol’s novel directed by Yves Robert. I love this film so much, it tastes like where I come from.
Second one is from a beautiful scene of “Ghost Dog : The Way of the Samouraï” by Jim Jarmusch, of whom I love the poetic style.
