This is brians design. He is a fire dragon (his dragon form is supose to be western dragon based but its gonna be 2069 when i draw it) he a big boy, towering overall of them. Flight is basically useless for him cus he to big to actually take flight. Scales are red and black. Eyes are gonna most likely be a honey yellow.

Sorry for taking soong to post this one /TwT)/

I just think snakes for hair is a neat concept. This is just where my mind went when trying to think

I just think snakes for hair is a neat concept. This is just where my mind went when trying to think of a different monster type for Kokichi other than vampire…

Character A is on a roadtrip with their family. They’re asleep, but they’re jolted awake when the car comes to a sudden stop. They look around, and no one is there in the car with them. They look out the window, and there’s no one anywhere.

No one, but a pair of impossibly bright eyes glaring from behind the clouds.

Here There Be Monsters: Sleepover

Summary: Wind gets a late night visitor, and Wild gets some answers.

“Wind… Wind, hey, wake up!”

The familiar voice gently eased Wind out of his sleep. He wanted so badly to roll over and ignore the call, but something wasn’t quite right. The voice was soothingly familiar, but something was off with this situation.

That voice wasn’t Granny or Arryl. A burst of adrenaline flooded through him. He recognized the voice, but no one but his family should be inside their home in the middle of the night.

In seconds, Wind had rolled out of bed. His hand settled on the handle of the knife he kept by his bedside, and he whipped around frantically to find the source of the noise.

What he found was not what he expected. Floating in front of him was Wild. The poltergeist was grinning, completely at ease despite the knife being shoved in his face. He held his hands up in a placating gesture. ”Woah, woah, it’s just me!”

Wild’s ease in the face of Wind’s knife was understandable. The knife Wind held wasn’t the sort that would be able to harm spirits. There were certain knives that could do that, but they needed to be engraved with specific runes, and this one wasn’t. Wind had carved the handle himself. He had added runes to ensure he would never lose it and it would always stay sharp. He hadn’t bothered to add those that would give it the ability to cut through different planes of existence.

Wind lowered his knife, blinking in confusion. He shifted slowly from his awkward crouch to sit more comfortably on his bed. “Wild, how the hell are you here?” He rubbed at his eyes, trying to clear the remaining haziness of sleep from his mind.

Wild smirked, twisting in midair. “It almost sounds like you don’t want me here,” he teased.

Wind gaped for a moment as his still tired brain struggled to process that. “What? I’m-,” He shook his head. “Wild, there’s a Spirit Ward around my house.”

Wild stopped twisting through the air, and hung still for a moment, considering. A look of concentration passed over his face. “Huh. Yeah, I guess there is. I can feel it now that I’m looking for it.” When Wind didn’t seem assured, Wild continued. “It’s a very good Ward!” He reassured, looking a little confused. “I’m a little impressed, your grandma knows her stuff. If you hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have even known.”

“I know it’s good. That’s my point,” Wind said, “How are you here if there’s a Spirit Ward, and you’re a spirit?”

Wild stared at him blankly. “Wind, I’ve been to your house before. How are you only realizing this now.”

“Well, yeah, you’ve been to my house, but only in your corporeal form!”

“But that’s still me. A little different, but fundamentally the same.” Wild shook his head, finally stopping his movement and settling down with both feet “on” the floor. He spread his hands as if demonstrating. Slowly, the ghost flames that flickered around his body faded away. His form became less and less transparent, and his weight settled onto the floor, his feet compressing the carpet instead of phasing through it. In a few moments, he looked as Hylian as can be. Wind would’ve been fooled if he didn’t know better.

“Thereare Spirit Wards that work against poltergeists, but the one around your house isn’t one. There aren’t many of us in the area. I guess your Grandma didn’t really see the point, which makes sense. Not that I’m complaining! It lets me come and bother you like this!” Wild grinned, and Wind suddenly became a little wary.

He liked the chaos Wild made, but not always when it was focused on him. “Okay so why are you here right now? To interrupt my sleep schedule?” A glimmer of irritation snuck into his voice. It was the middle of the night. Technically Wild doesn’t have to sleep, but did he seriously have to show up now?

There was silence as Wild bit his lip, still standing a good few feet from Wind. He looked a bit cautious, which was a strange look for him.

Wind nearly smacked himself on the forehead. Right. The whole fiasco on Friday. That had been one of the worst headaches he’d ever gotten, magically or otherwise. He had thrown up, told Warriors that he was a psychic, and then passed out on him. No, not even on him- literally in his arms, which was embarrassing. Somehow, he had ended up back at home. The next thing he knew, he was snug in his bed in a dim room, with his Granny sitting on the edge of his bed and painting protection runes on his forehead.

Since then, he had mostly been spending time practicing his runework and sleeping off his headache. Granny had insisted that screens would only make his headache worse- which he hated to admit she was right about- so it was the perfect time for him to do some practicing. Granny loved using teachable situations, so he had spent yesterday poring over one of the medical tomes she had, learning about headache relieving runes, and other runes that would soothe these types of growth spurt pains. She had even allowed him to try out some of the medical runes himself.

Medical runes could be very tricky. Dealing with the inner processes and bodily rhythms of someone could be difficult at the best of times, and very delicate work when those rhythms were thrown out of balance, such as when someone was injured or sick. It took a steady hand (literally and metaphorically) to practice healing runework. Granny had never let him try medical runes before. She had told him that his magic was too unstable for that kind of work. Now though, she had deemed him ready to start trying, along with his other runework. The kind of headache he had gotten, she said, was proof enough he was ready.

But with all these distractions, he had completely forgotten that Warriors had most likely told the others what Wind had told him. There was no way he hadn’t. So, the others knew now.

And apparently Wild had gotten tired of waiting for Wind to text them, and had decided to come to him instead. They stared at each other for a while, both waiting for the other to speak. Wild seemed hesitant, now that he was face to face with Wind, to actually ask him, and Wind wasn’t going to say it. (Watching Wild squirm for once instead of the other way around was hilarious)

Wild finally broke.. “Soooo… A psychic?” Yep, there it was.

“Yep!”

Wild groaned, leaning against Wind’s dresser, arms crossed. He almost looked like he was pouting. “How did we not notice?”

Wind shrugged. “You tell me. I mean Granny has a binding on me to make it so people don’t notice anything weird I do, but it’s really only meant for Hylians, and it’s pretty weak. Once you know I have magic it doesn’t even work anymore. I’m pretty sure Time already knew.”

A flicker of annoyance crossed over Wild’s face. “Oh yeah, he definitely knew. After Warriors left to bring you home on Friday, he laughed at all of us for not realizing. I’m gonna get him for that one.” Wind let out a soft snort at that, knowing full well that any pranks Wild managed to pull on Time were those Time allowed him to get away with.

There was another pause. Wind waited for Wild to continue. He doubted Wild came here just to confirm what he already knew. Indeed, Wild was still looking slightly uncomfortable. A bit worried even.

Which was… weird.

Wild was a very carefree person, by nature.

“So… you looked pretty bad on friday,” Wild started hesitantly. “Are you usually affected that much by seeing spirits? I don’t want to hurt you… I could-”

Wind knew where Wild was going with this now, and he wanted to put a stop to it right now. “No, Wild, absolutely not. You’re fine.”

Wild scrunched up his face, looking skeptical. “Are you just saying that to make me feel better?”

Wind huffed, crossing his arms. “No, I’m not. Ghosts are different. I mean first of all, they exist on a different plane of existence than you do, even in your incorporeal form. That’s why most magical creatures can see you while you’re intangible, but can’t see ghosts,”

Wild shrugged. “I already knew that, I guess, but why does that matter?”

“Seeing poltergeists comes naturally to all magical creatures. Seeing ghosts requires a certain type of power. Psychics aren’t born seeing ghosts. We have to grow into that power as we age. When we’re little kids, all we can catch are little glimpses and flashes. As we grow and our abilities expand, we can see more and more of them. I just had a recent, uh, growth spurt, I guess you can call it. Before, I hadn’t been able to see that many spirits at once, but then suddenly I could, and I just got really overwhelmed. Does that make sense?”

As Wind had spoken, Wild’s expression had grown thoughtful, and a little worried. “I guess so. Do these ‘growth spurts’ always cause you to get so overwhelmed?”

Wind shook his head. “No. That one was really bad. It was just a bad coincidence that it happened at the same time that some ghosts noticed I could see them. Then things kind of started to snowball. My reactions to them were bigger than normal, which just drew more ghosts to me.”

Wild nodded. “Sorry for the questions. I know you’re probably tired.”

Wind shrugged. Now that he was fully awake, he found that he wasn’t all that tired. He had spent a lot of time in the past few days sleeping, so he didn’t mind talking with Wild. When he told the poltergeist so, it earned him a beaming smile.

Wind continued. “And I don’t mind the questions. I know I kind of have a leg up on you guys. I already knew about you guys, so I had time to do my own research to answer any questions I had. Granny was ecstatic that I was finally making use of our library of my own free will,” That earned him a snicker. “I know that information on psychics is pretty rare, even if you do have access to a magical library.”

Wind was incredibly lucky that his family had been psychics for hundreds of years, stretching back to when they had been feared pirates that sailed on the Great Sea. They had had a long time to cultivate generational knowledge and wealth. The crowning jewel of their family home was it’s extensive library. It had tomes on nearly any topic they could ever want or need.

His friend, Tetra, wasn’t as lucky. Although Tetra could trace her history back to the same pirate ships that he could, she was only a third-generation Psychic, and she hadn’t even known her parents. Her family had not had the opportunity to build up the resources that Wind’s had. If she needed to research something she had to visit Wind’s library, or one of the public magical libraries, which were hard to find, and harder to gain membership to. There was only one in the area, as far as Wind knew.

These public libraries were typically run by covens of vampires, who were rightfully very picky about who they let in. It wouldn’t do to let a hunter in, or someone who could do damage to other patrons, or to the books. The point was, Wild, as a poltergeist, wasn’t likely to get a membership, no matter how much he promised to behave.

But Wild hadn’t even known Wind was a psychic, so it was a moot point anyway.

Wild nodded in agreement. “I knew your family was pretty old but I hadn’t realized what that meant. I hope you’re ready to have Legend and Warriors knocking on your door, begging to see your library.” Wind rolled his eyes.

Legend would definitely get a kick out of the family library. Sirens loved to hoard things, and one thing Legend loved above almost everything else was knowledge. He would definitely be showing up as soon as Wind told him it was okay to do so. On the other hand, Warriors loved to read, but Wind knew for a fact that the books he was already reading were just romance novels. He just put boring-looking book jackets on the covers to hide that fact. (There was absolutely no way Warriors had actually been reading a book called The Science of the Vampire Sire this past week.)

Wild’s voice broke him from his thoughts. “How did you know about us in the first place? I guess you could see me every time I was floating around, but what about the others?”

Wind snickered, remembering all the faces Wild had pulled at him, thinking Wind hadn’t been able to see him. It took all his concentration not to laugh sometimes. “Granny taught me all the signs to look out for, you know? Also, Sometimes you guys are pretty bad at hiding it.”

Wild nodded consideringly. “And what are those signs?

Wind blinked, tilting his head curiously. “Don’t you know how to tell if someone is magical or not?”

Wild shook his head. “Not really.”

“Wait, then how’d you find the others, then?”

Wild sighed, flopping down on Wind’s bed. Wind made a disgruntled noise, but didn’t try to shove him off. Wild stared up at the ceiling  “Besides you, I’m the youngest in the group. Twilight discovered me accidentally about fifty years ago, but we’ve only been hanging around the others for…” He paused, thinking. “Thirty years? That sounds right. Anyways, most of the others had someone to teach them this stuff, or are just so old they learned through experience. I, well, I used to be fully Hylian. I didn’t even know that monsters existed until I became one, and Twi didn’t really have the time to teach me before we met Time.”

Wind hummed. Now that the others knew that he wasn’t Hylian, maybe they would stop coming up with stories about how they had all met and just tell him their real stories. “And the others haven’t taught you since?”

“They’ve been teaching me, but it’s hard. Sometimes they expect me to know things that I just… don’t. Both normal Hylian stuff and more monster-y stuff. I’m sure you know about poltergiest’s memory problems?” Wind nodded, and Wild continued on, still staring at the ceiling. “The others just forget to mention some things. And occasionally, I forget what they’ve already told me. It’s hard to retain memories sometimes.” Wild made a face that Wind was sure he didn’t know he was making, and then waved his hand dismissively.

“It’s not important anyway,” Wild insisted, and Wind decided not to push. He can’t really offer any comfort to Wild about this, and the poltergeist is obviously done talking about it. “Tell me how you figured out what we all were!”

The grin that split his face made Wild look a little suspicious. Wind gave him a squiggly frown, squinting at him. “Why do you want to know?”

Wild’s grin did not fade as he stared unblinking at Wind. “Oh, I want blackmail material.”

Wind paused. Considered. Well, if it kept Wild’s mischievous mind away from Wind, and put him in the poltergeist’s good graces…. He offered a smirk back to Wild, just as mischievous. “Well, mostly I could feel your auras, which are really different from Hylians’, which is how I really found out, but I’m guessing that’s not what you want?” At the shake of Wild’s head, he continued, slightly mischievously. “I caught Twi chewing on a bone once.”

Wild gasped, wiggling in excitement. He flopped to lay on his belly on Wind’s bed, propping up his chin in his hands and kicking his feet like he was an excited teen at their first sleepover. “Spill! And don’t you dare say you have to go back to sleep, I know you don’t have school tomorrow.”

She slowly eased her grandson’s door open, wincing as it creaked. She really needed to get that fixed. It just seemed like she never had the time.

It was a Sunday, and especially given the ordeal Wind had had on Friday coming home from school, she had wanted to let him have some extra rest. So when he hadn’t shown up for breakfast, she hadn’t minded. When it had come time for lunch, and he still wasn’t up, she had gotten a little worried, and had come to check up on him.

The source of his delay in rising was plain to see when she entered the room. Her grandson was still snoring away contentedly, cuddled up into the side of one of his friends, who was also dead to the world.

And just dead in general, she thought, as she warily ran her eyes over him.

Wild, she was pretty sure he was called. She knew that he was a poltergeist. She glanced suspiciously around the room, but smiled in satisfaction when she didn’t see anything out of place, or sense any objects that had been tampered with.

Not that she thought the boy would harm anyone in this house- if she did, she would never let him step foot in her home in the first place- but you could never be too careful with poltergeists. They loved chaos and tricks. Most of them were perfectly harmless, but she would rather avoid being doused with a bucket of cold water today.

She would have to have a few words with him about inviting himself into her house in the middle of the night, though.

She hobbled over to the room’s windows, currently shrouded by heavy blackout curtains. A pair of nearly identical groans came from the bed when she threw the curtains open.

“Time to get up, my dears. It’s nearly lunchtime. And don’t you dare go back to sleep, or I’ll send Arryl in to wake you up next.” Wind’s protests sounded behind her as she shuffled out of the room. That threat would surely get them both up. Her granddaughter could be ruthless when she wanted to be.

She hummed as she started preparing a simple lunch, setting out one more plate at the table than usual.

Actually I wrote this plot, but in Russian. My English is not good enough to write fanfiction, sorry, folks :(

[ID: a traditional pencil drawing of fun ghoul and party poison. ghoul is a large black werewolf, crouched leaning slightly back on his hind legs and lifting one of his front paws slightly. poison is a light-skinned vampire with freckles, shoulder-length hair half-tied up, and visible fangs where they are smiling slightly. they are wearing a t-shirt and skinny jeans tucked into combat boots, and are also crouched, with one hand braced on the ground, and the other resting on ghoul’s side. both of them are looking off the page at something. end ID]
