2020.04.01 Walk

Been totally slacking this week. First workout on Wednesday! Ergh! Need to get moving!

2020.Mar.26 Walk

Keeping active and away from people in the ghost town by the beach. I can walk across a 6 lane road without waiting for the light, cos there is no traffic. It’s so weird. There are lots of people walking/running/biking the neighborhood all day long now, even saw one guy doing burpees in his front yard.

2020.Mar.24 Jazzercise On Demand HIIT

So, I buckled down and signed up for the 60 days of free Jazzercise on Demand classes this morning and got one done. It wasn’t bad, though I admit to thinking, ‘is it over yet?’ More than once… maybe more than 10 times during the course of the workout.

It is only about 40 minutes, not an hour like normal classes, but they have 20 minute strength training classes on there too . I thought this one was all cardio, but there were a few strength routines at the end. I didn’t bring my normal weights in from the car so i used my heavier, 13 # weights, which was extra fun.

Anyway, I may try one of the strength workouts later to bring the total up to an hour.

I’m going to have to look and see if there are any with a longer cardio offering.

2020.Mar.23 Walk

Beach closed, trail was open. People were walking down to the water for the sunset, not many, but a few. I didn’t go, stayed on the trail and just concentrated on getting the walk done for the most part. It looks like a ghost town, kind of creepy. Tomorrow, if i get up the gumption, i might try one of the free Jazzercise classes online that they are offering and see how that goes.

2020.Mar.19 Walk

My legs and feet are so tired from all the walking. Not sure why it feels so much harder than Jazzercise, but i guess because of the repetitive action. In Jazzercise there are different moves and steps so it’s not all the exact same motion the whole time.

Anyway, I’m sticking with it, though I guess I will just have to walk the neighborhood next week as they say they are closing the beach. How that will be done, I’m not sure. Also don’t know if that includes the trail or just the sand. I guess we’ll see.

Jazzercise is giving away 60 days of online classes free, so perhaps I’ll give those a try.

2020.Mar.17 Walk

Sticking with the walking since Jazzercise closed. My shin muscles are so sore from yesterday’s walk! Made it hard to go very fast or far. Happens everytime i start back walking, that mucle just kills me. Anyway, got it done. Maybe I can push myself to keep walking even when Jazzercise starts back up like i used to do.

Still haven’t pushed myself to do upper body work. Must do that!

2020.March 11 and 12 Jazzercise

Know I’ve been absent for a while. On Jan 27th, my BF had a total knee replacement and that pretty much messed up a good bit of Feb for me, driving back and forth from his place to mine almost daily and taking him to follow up appointments and trying to help him do the PT stuff he was supposed to do. Anyway, back to regular schedule now and trying once again to get my food choices under control and find a way to lose the weight I’ve regained.

My feet are feeling a bit better finally, though still a bit of pain at times. I guess the new shoes finally helped? Not sure, certainly took long enough. Also trying to stretch more often / more diligently including plantar stretching, even though pain is on the outside of my heel under the ankle.

So, anyway, trying to get back to it yet again.

2020 Jan 13 and 14 Jazzercise Strength 60 and Dance mixx

Got new shoes. New Balance 860 (I think). They are supposed to help stabilize feet, hoping it will help with pain. I am not wearing the old orthotics with them, trying them just straight to see how it goes. Also spending time at night while watching TV to foam roll legs and stretch and also rolling a ball under my arch, even though it’s the outside of my heel/ankles that hurt.

No dancing last night, but lots of standing on one foot, which hurt. Lunges are almost impossible they hurt so much, but it wasn’t as bad as it has been afterwards.

This morning’s class was 40 min of dancing. Again not as bad as it has been, so maybe shoes are helping? Lateral movements are the worst, along with lunges in the strength section. I tried to concentrate on keeping my ankles good and straight so my feet didn’t roll out . I mean, there was pain with each step, but not as bad as it has been.

So, gonna keep up the stretch and rolling, new shoes, but mostly I have got to get some weight off. Every time I think I’m winning, I backslide. So frustrating and annoyed with myself.

2020.01.09 Jazzercise Flip fusion

Feet felt better today. Took an ibuprofen last night and this morning, which i just never do. Also foam rolled the hell outta my calves. Still hurt , but not to the point I can barely walk, at least. Any lateral moves suck as do lunges. I also took my orthotics out and just used regular insoles. New shoes should be here before Monday, see if they help. If not, off to the Doctor.

2020.01.08 Jazzercise Dance mixx

My feet are absolutely killing me. I thought I had the problem figured out, but after class Monday they started getting worse and haven’t stopped. I changed to new workout shoes in October, I replaced the old yard shoes that I thought was the problem as well. And my feet were feeling better, but we had lots of days without class over the holidays, now that I’m back to regular schedule, they are worse than ever.

I ordered more new shoes, this time a type that is supposed to help with supination, which I think is the problem, but I may have to break down and go to a doctor cos they are very painful now, even just sitting they hurt. Been also trying to stretch my calves a few times a day, which hasn’t helped yet.

This sucks!

I have orthotics, and I wear them, but they are old, so maybe, again, a trip back to the Doctor is my only option.

2020.01.06 Jazzercise Flip Fusion

Not the first class of the year, but I just didn’t post for a few days. My back has been doing something odd since Friday, slipping in and out of place. It hurts when it does it, but then mostly lets up… it’s weird and new! Anyways, I felt a little afraid in class, thinking it might happen but it didn’t. It mostly happens when I’m sitting down, but since it’s new, I’m not sure what to expect.

Anyway, got the workout in, but don’t feel like I gave it my all cos of that.

2019.12.25 Christmas Walk, 4 miles

First day of exercise this week. All Jazzercise canceled and didn’t get my butt up to do anything until today.

Tourists were SWIMMING! I was wishing I’d worn a warmer hat. ❄

Merry Christmas, everyone!!
