I literally live on tea. I think I have about 5 cups a day? Brits throw away 165 million tea bags everyday which is a LOT going in the bin. Some companies claim to have biodegradable tea bags but line the bags with tiny amounts of plastic, usually polypropylene. And a tiny amount in all 165 million ends up with a lot in the ocean! Loose leaf tea (packaged plastic free of course) is not only better for the environment but I find waaaay more flavourful than the average tea bags

Loose veggies! I’m lucky to live in a place where I can get all my fruit and vegetables packaging free. The average plastic packaging takes 400 years to breakdown, and when it does, it breaks into tiny microplastics eaten by plankton at the bottom of the food chain. The truth is plastic doesn’t ‘disappear’. Plastic particles have been found in almost every place on earth, and even in human faeces! By 2050, it is predicted that there will be a 1:1 ratio of plastic to fish in the ocean, and I don’t want to live in a world where that in the case.

At times when I feel helpless in the face of all that’s happening in the world, I try to keep a personal *activism log* to remind myself that while I can’t do everything, I can do something
This weekend, those ‘somethings’ have included:
bringing my reusable cup + supporting a local coffee shop
calling Gov Abbott’s office to oppose the anti-Trans bill
#composting my food scraps
shopping at the #FarmersMarket for #local and #organic produce (pictured above!)
walking + taking public transport
eating #PlantBased
dropping old clothes off with @nycsanitation to be recycled into scraps

So che vanno di moda e quindi magari ne avrete già comprate diverse o, in alternativa, ne avrete già le scatole piene di sentirle nominare… Però voglio segnalarvi lo stesso questa “bottiglia riusabile” (ai miei tempi le avresti chiamate “borracce”).
Mi ha conquistato, tra tutte, perché oltre allo scopo di ridurre i consumi di plastica ♻️ (e non di poco) promette di donare il 25% del ricavato a iniziative di rimozione della plastica dagli oceani.
Nella descrizione del prodotto trovate anche il nome dell'iniziativa. Sui loro social pubblicano con massima trasparenza i risultati degli investimenti fatti con i soldi raccolti.
Mi è sembrata una cosa bella, due piccioni con una fava (ma forse sono anche tre o quattro sti piccioni questa volta). Che ne pensate?
Io l'ho già presa e devo dire che si presenta bene, ben confezionata (con un comodo sacchetto di iuta per il trasporto), tappo a vite in legno e acciaio, ben isolata termicamente. Ve l'ho detto: due, tre, quattro piccioni con una fava!

Starting my weekend facial ritual now…
Friday mornings are about repairing my skin and keeping me glowing. In the morning I wash my face with cold water. Then apply Organic AAA Face cleanser.
