I am always frozen. Seriously, always cold. It can be the middle of July in Canada and I’ll still be sleeping under a feather duvet.
As a result, working out can be a bit tricky, because until I’m sufficiently warmed up, I’m essentially freezing in my shorts and tank top. Of course, I can knit, so there is always a solution waiting in the wings for these sorts of problems! My mom gave me some lovely grey and white flecked yarn for Christmas, which I immediately envisioned as a pair of “old sock” or “Roots” style leg warmers. As a bonus benefit, this also helps me go through stash yarn!
I really like how they turned out, and they are very warm. I based them off of a pattern by Bernat, but I made quite a few modifications to make them turn out the way I wanted them to (e.g. knit in round, changed dimensions, knit some ribbing on the bottom edge).
Leg Warmers on Ravelry.
Ok so question
I am like REAL into creepy shit. Avant garde, the macabre, unsettling things, the grotesque, the surreal, weird shit. And I LOVE butoh for that reason, among others.
Is there a style of pole dance that incorporates this sort of thing? Like, being sexy is fun, but being UNSETTLING is way better (for me, at least). Like I’ve seen contemporary dance incorporated, hip hop too, but what about like butoh? Does that go too far against what butoh is and is about?
I feel like there’s gotta be something like this out there. Anybody point me in the direction?
So I got my pole!!
But it turns out, my ceilings are too high. I need another extension on it before I can install it…. so I’ve ordered a tape measure to figure out what kind of extension I need, and will be ordering the extensions this week once it arrives!
I need to order a few other things with the extensions. Cleaning alcohol and a mat are deffo on the list, but I’m thinking I want to try getting some gloves as well. My hands just get so goddamn sweaty. Anybody worked with them before? Any recommendations for them?
Found a pole on Ebay and am going to pick it up today! Just have to find someone to install it at home and then I’ll have an at-home pole to practice with!
I don’t just do D&D tutorials! Sometimes I go off on entire pole archery tangents!
A new video appears! Is it effective? You decide!
