Cobra pose with props from the first day

One of the best things about Manasa Yoga School is the philosophy taught in every class and workshop. Manoj Khaimalis on a quest to get us, his students, to move from the doing to discerning enquiry, from the form to formlessness. In fact, it was his Natarajasana workshop in 2011 that made me decide to do my yoga teacher training with him. The denouement…

Is there a better feeling in fitness than the pump you get from an upper body strength training day?

Is there a better feeling in fitness than the pump you get from an upper body strength training day? I can’t think of any!

My first month of bulking is complete and I feel great about it thus far. There was some worrying times, being a former fat dude there’s a lot of mental obstacles you have to overcome to keep knowingly put on weight. I’m only up 2lbs, which is about what I was aiming for… so I’m very pleased with the past month. 5 more months to go, hopefully I keep getting bigger and stronger!

…and yes, it’s time for new workout tanks! :)

Hi ‍♀️

Going to get back to posting on here! It’s been so long and a crazy year but I need some accountability and tumblr is nice because no one I know is on here so I like being able to just post without thinking about who is reading lol.

My Goals:

So because it’s getting close to summer and I have some vacations planned I’m wanting to lose some of my “quarantine” weight. Really I’m just trying to lose some fat because I’ve gained a lot of both muscle and fat this year and I want to look more “toned”

I’m going to try to post a good diary and workout update here everyday. That has really helped me be consistent in the past and I think it will help me out now!

Workout Routine//Update:

So these are my before photos, I’m currently doing the Kayla Itsines Sweat App as well as riding my stationary bike. Right now I’m in week 2 of the beginner BBG workouts and they are very easy and low impact. It has been a while since I have done resistance workouts so it’s nice to ease back into it. My goals for starting up this program are:

  • To build more muscle
  • Be in better cardiovascular shape
  • Find a routine that I can’t do consistently

I’m excited to see where this program goes and how I can improve. Last time I did this program I got through a 2 months of BBG 1.0 and saw the biggest improvement in strength that I’ve seen in my body so I’m hoping that I can find a way to be even more consistent this time around.

Has anyone tried this app and enjoyed it? And tips or tricks for doing resistance?
